Be clear this week about what you have control over and what you don’t, because this week we face our shadows.  The days are noticeably shorter, and the veil between the worlds is thinning, as we move towards Halloween. This is underlined by Pluto turning stationary Direct in Capricorn on Wednesday. It’s one of the most intense events of this year. Pluto raises toxic energy to the surface for us to face and release, moving us towards regeneration. This week we face our Shadow and shed our skins.

Pluto is also the planet of karma, and when it changes direction we experience a karmic shift. We are deeply transformed, and we are able to release fears and blocks that are holding us back from becoming the best version of ourselves. Saturn and Pluto going Direct together points us to some of the most important issues of our lives. Be alert to messages, and don’t let your fears or negativity block your path.

Monday 9/30 – Moon in Scorpio today. Keep things low key and avoid power struggles or confronting anything. Focus instead on transformation. The mood could be heavy tonight with Venus squaring Pluto at 9:15pm Pacific. This can bring catharsis to creative projects, friendships and romantic relationships. Try to find workable solutions and harmony.

Tuesday, 10/1 – Moon in Scorpio still, so take it easy. Make sure you’re well rested and well fed as Pluto slows down above us. Good outlets for this shift are embracing the truth, staying grounded and working hard on things you love.

Wednesday, 10/2 –  Pluto is stationary, or standing still in the sky, and moving Direct (forward) at 11:39pm Pacific. Whatever internal growth you’ve been experiencing over the last five months is changing direction and is ready to be expressed in your life. If you’re able to put all of your energy towards things you have control over, you’ll be less likely to get into power struggles with people, which is important this week. Remember, Pluto brings reformation, but also healing and rebirth.

Thursday, 10/3 – Moon in Sagittarius today, so thankfully the mood is a little lighter. Mercury enters Scorpio in the early morning hours, bringing emotional depth to communication. Avoid obsession, or digging too deeply into the psychology of others. Keep communications as loving and balanced as possible, since Scorpio can be too blunt about the truth. Work on shadow integration and transformation instead. Mars goes into Libra (its detriment) in the evening, bringing a slow down to action.

Friday, 10/4 – Moon into Capricorn. Focus on work and what you’re producing. Projects or events can be hard to get off the ground, and the energy is kind of serious for a date night. Practice patience.

Saturday, 10/5 – Moon in Capricorn. Get the chores done this weekend. Work in the garden, tidy up the house and cook for the week.

Sunday, 10/6 – Moon into Aquarius in the evening. Mercury (in Scorpio) also opposes Uranus (in Taurus), at 11:15pm. That’s a lot of electricity in the area we already covered this week. Watch your words, and put energy towards expressing your genius. Don’t waste your time on people that can’t hear your views.

Hail unto the Mighty Autumn! It is time for the seasons to change. I love how the planet shifts itself so easily and naturally. We are taking stock of our lives and our year of 2019, and deciding what we want to bring with us through the coming Winter. This is an ancient passage, as old as the Earth itself.

If you’re feeling tired, run down and “heavy”, there’s probably lots of reasons lol… BUT I’m an astrologer and I say it’s the planet SATURN. This planet has been going retrograde for five months, and just turned Direct last Wednesday 9/18. When a planet changes direction, it sits still in the sky for a week or so, which is called “stationing”. Saturn is sitting on top of all of us right now… and it’s heavy. Things will start moving forward shortly.

Saturn, the reaper, is one of my favorite planets. It rules time, structure, fear, discipline, ambition, commitment and maturity. Saturn changes signs every two years and takes 28 years to make a complete cycle around the Sun – hence the “Saturn Return” or coming of age when we turn 28 years old. With Saturn, we reap what we sow.

This January, Authority (Saturn) meets Revolution (Pluto) in a conjunction in Capricorn. Both of these planets and signs are extreme so there could be brilliant discoveries and brutal revolutions playing out on the world stage. This is a rare event that will effect us on a personal level too. Who has authority over us and is it time for radical change? In another couple of years, we will have the same planetary configuration that occurred in 1776 – which brought the birth of our nation. Right now, the U.S. is facing it’s shadow and preparing for evolution. I hope it will be a positive one.

Onto the horoscopes! I will look at the influence of Saturn on your sign, as well as the position of your ruler. Reading your sun sign is important, but it’s also good to read the sign that relates to your Rising sign. If you don’t know your rising sign (also called the ascendant), you can figure it out here.

Aries: The Ram
Mars, your ruler, enters Libra on October 4th, which is it’s detriment (not happy). This gives you a week to make important changes, and to take action on anything urgent, because after October 4th you’ll be in a “resting” phase for a month or so. The good news is Venus (love) is in your House of Partnership! It’s a great time to date, or form equal and balanced partnerships.
Saturn in Capricorn falls in your 10th House of Career and Public Image. With Saturn, you reap what you’ve sown. If there’s any unfinished issues or fears regarding career, you can face them now and purge them from your life. This gives you the opportunity to build a new, solid foundation.

Taurus: The Bull
The astrological action this Fall will be Venus transiting your House of Partnerships. Scorpio season is around the corner, bringing up issues, good and bad, in your relationship(s). It will be important for you to be brave and speak your truth with important people around you. The good news is your ruler, Venus, is currently moving through Libra, which is very harmonious and brings good luck with work.
With Saturn Direct in your House of Life Perspective, you are asked to reexamine your belief systems and upgrade them. Saturn brings up issues around security and structure, so changing your personal truth has huge repurcussions on the foundation of your life.

Gemini: The Twins
Your ruler, Mercury, is currently moving through your House of Romance and Creativity, which is very fortunate! Your usual mental clarity has been taken up a notch, and your social life is flourishing. If you have any writing to do, now is the time.

Saturn in Capricorn falls in your 8th House of sex, death and taxes. It’s a good time to pursue serious study of an occult nature, but a bad time to ask for credit. You have to earn your money right now.

Cancer: The Crab
With Venus (planet of Love) transiting Libra, you are on easy street for the next month or so. Venus brings friends, warmth, romance and money! Meanwhile, on the other side of your chart, Pluto in Capricorn brings some powerful personalities into your life. Don’t be put off by the dark, brooding types, for those relationships hold the seeds of personal transformation.
Saturn in Capricorn will bring tremendous growth in commitments and partnerships. Your main relationship is either being deepened and renewed, or it’s crumbling under the tremendous weight of Saturn and Pluto. Go with the flow, and let go of the past. Leo: The Lion
Your ruler the Sun has entered Libra (your Communication House) bringing good communication and focus on family and community. The Fall season will be great for your love life.
Saturn in Capricorn will falls in your House of Work and Health. If you feel it’s time for a new job, don’t hesitate to update your resume and start looking. Saturn sets people free from stagnant situations. If you want to renew your commitment to your job, Saturn supports that as well.

Virgo: The Virgin
Your ruler, Mercury, is Direct for the next few months, so it’s a time of forward motion. Mercury is moving fast through Libra and Scorpio this Fall. You will be putting a lot of energy into getting organized and negotiating relationships.

Libra: The Scales

Capricorn: The Sea Goat

Fun article on Generation X. We’re all middle aged now! As an astrologer, I find it interesting to watch my generation as they travel through life. We are meant to shake things up. We were born during the tumultuous 1960’s, when Uranus and Pluto were in a conjunction in Virgo. We are redefining technology, communication, service, health, habits, and what it means to achieve a dream.

“The tech, music, style, books, trends, rules, films and pills that made Gen X … so so-so.”

“Like many things considered “cool,” Gen X is pretty exclusive. You had to be born between 1965 and 1980 to get in to this gloomy, goofy club of forgotten middle children, and only about 65 million of us were. (Both boomers, at 75 million, and millennials, at 83 million, far outnumber us.)

The idea behind that “X” was about coming between. Gen X supposedly didn’t know what they were, or what they wanted. All they knew, they were told, was what they didn’t want — marriage, money, success — and then they shrugged and popped a Prozac.

And you know what else Gen X is? Getting older. Its oldest members are 54; its youngest are preparing for 40. As we try to make sense of that fact, here’s a look at the stuff we loved and hated, as well as a re-evaluation of things like “The Rules,” grunge, CK One and 1994; an appreciation of John Singleton; a quiz to figure out which generation you actually are; and a visit with Evan Dando, plus some dynamite for the myths that have always dogged Gen X. Monday 7/1: Moon in Gemini, into Cancer early evening. Careful not to offend anyone today; avoid social complications. Mars into Leo at 1:20pm. We are in the orb of the New Moon, a solar eclipse in Cancer, and emotions are near the surface. People are hyper-sensitive and unwilling to face conflicts. Go with the current of your life, and put your energies towards things you have control over.

Tuesday 7/2: New Moon, Solar Eclipse at 10 Cancer at 12:16pm Pacific. Avoid confronting anyone today – but allow yourself to be indulgent. Aries, Cancerians, Libras and Capricorns, be on your best behavior this week; keep yourselves well rested. Good day for creativity, love, tending plants and animals, opening up and clearing the house. We begin a new monthly cycle today.

Wednesday 7/3: Moon in Cancer all day. Simmering tensions can erupt, so keep your cool until you can approach a dispute in a calm and neutral way. Try not to take things personally.

Cancer:

The Sun is in Cancer until July 21st; cruising along with the North Node and opposing Saturn and Pluto at various points. This is a month of extremes, and balancing the need to nurture others with the more important task of taking care of ourselves. Learn to be your own Mother, and don’t depend on others to fill that role.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which rules the tides of our emotions, maternal instincts, fruitfulness, creativity, the womb, and other concepts around nurturing. It’s the most nostalgic of the signs, which means Cancerians are deeply connected to their families and ancestors. They are in spiritual communication with ancestral places and people. This quality also lends itself to psychic ability. They feel what’s going on with their surrounding people and environment.

Traditionally, the sign of Cancer is seen as the personality closely connected to the Home. Wherever Cancer falls in your chart, that is the place where you experience great sensitivity and fertility. Also, Cancer rules the 4th House, which symbolizes our Home and Family roots.  This makes Cancer uniquely gifted at communicating with house spirits and earth deities.

Because Cancerians “feel” things so tangibly, it’s difficult to have deep, real, constructive communication with them. They are like the crab on the seashore that moves side to side to avoid conflict – and often resort to passive-aggressive behavior. They hide in a thick, hard shell and are obsessed with security. They can be extremely moody as well. But on the whole, they are fantastic people to associate with, due to their vulnerability. They teach us all that emotions are real, important, and need to be valued and expressed to live a full life.

Mars at 11 Cancer (in it’s fall; no Mars Magick).
Venus at 25 Taurus (rulership; VERY strong).
Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto retrograde.

Face the Shadow. We’re still excavating our lives with the Saturn-conjunct-Pluto-both-retrograde aspect. It will be closely exact THIS month, and will continue to wind it’s way through the year ahead. Wherever this is landing in your chart, you are being profoundly shifted. Saturn is forcing you to face the reality of your life, and Pluto is bringing up our toxic energy on a personal and collective level. Pluto is forcing us to purge, purify and reform ourselves. Resisting these shifts will create big problems, so just relax and go with the flow. Pay attention to stuff that isn’t working for you anymore and if you can, make changes.

Monday: New Moon in Gemini at 3am Pacific. Makes our minds and communication zingy. Great day for negotiation, socializing, studying, playing games, birthing new ideas and using your mind in a new way. Venus in a trine with Pluto last night brings intensity to creative endeavors and sexy time.

Tuesday: Moon in Cancer. Mercury into Cancer at 1:03pm Pacific. Mercury isn’t happy in Cancer, so no Mercury Magick for awhile… unless you’re sidereal of course. Mercury wants to be zippy, but gets drenched in this highly sensitive, nurturing watery energy of Cancer. Creative thinking is enhanced however.

Wednesday: Moon in Cancer. Handle things around your home and personal life. You might want to stay home tonight, relax and eat comfort food. Feelings are hyper-sensitive today and tomorrow, so avoid arguments or complications.

Thursday: Moon in Leo. It’s a good day to seek acknowledgement and generosity from those in leadership positions. It’s a good night to go out and see any type live performance.

Friday: Moon in Leo. Go out and shine, and show your heart.

Saturday: Moon into Virgo. A day of organization and self care. Also, Venus enters Gemini near 6:30pm Pacific, bringing fresh delight to any social gatherings. Creative time for writers, thinkers, and artists. Self expression flows easily, and we gravitate towards like-minded people.

Today’s new Moon occurs in the middle of Taurus – the 2nd decan:  “A man with a body like a camel, with cow’s hooves on his fingers, and he is completely covered with a torn linen cloth. The Moon is “exalted” in Taurus, which means it expresses itself easily. This gives a calm, sensuous and indulgent feel to this weekend. With Mercury in Aries in mutual reception with Mars in Gemini, we can also grasp and share the truth. Kickstart your mind into a higher gear, and focus on achieving your potential. All of the earth signs bring up the issue of what we’re committing ourselves to, and if we’re in need of an update.

A new moon occurs every month when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign. It’s the beginning of a 30-day lunar cycle, and it’s when you set your intentions for the coming month. As the Moon grows, your intention grows in form and scope; coming to fruition at the full Moon two weeks later. Forming an intention is instinctual, since the Moon is black and there’s no illumination of the night sky. The Sun (the light) is also hidden, so we must ‘feel” our way, since we cannot see clearly.

Uranus is currently in Taurus, and it will shake up and change wherever Taurus sits in your chart. It’s probably an area that has started feeling stagnant; a corner of your life that needs some fresh air. Uranus brings liberation, and a new way of expressing the genius within you. Wednesday, April 24th – Pluto is stationing (standing still above us) and turning retrograde (backwards) around noon Pacific time. At the SAME TIME, Pluto will be conjuncting Saturn (timing, responsibility and control). This is a huge turning point in our personal lives and the world. The US is also having it’s Pluto Return – which can stir up revolution, reform and massive change.
Individually, our toxic, underlying issues are rising up to be healed by Pluto. This spurs us towards a rebirth of the structures we have built in our lives by Saturn. This is a BIG DEAL. If you’ve been stuck in self doubt, self hatred or living out other people’s ideas, prepare to be liberated and reborn. If you’ve built your life on shaky ground, or avoided responsibility for your actions, prepare to grow up fast. Sacrifice your past mistakes and weaknesses in the great fire of Pluto and start anew. Seek the light within you. Encourage it to grow. This conjunction sets off a major reorganization of our lives that will gain steam and relevance over the next several months. The goal is to create a new, sustainable paradigm for true living.

Saturday, April 27th –  Moon in Aquarius. Mars square Neptune in the early morning. It’s a good day to embrace visions, and take action on the ones that really call to you.  Just be really clear on what you’re doing before you take action. Neptune can make you spacy or bring up the desire to play the victim.

Monday, April 29th – Moon in Pisces. And if all that wasn’t enough!!! Saturn stations retrograde above us in Capricorn at 5:55pm Pacific. When Saturn retrogrades, things in our lives can feel less stable. More developments from the Pluto-Saturn conjunction last week could arise.

Aries rising – New Moon in Aries today! Your ruler, Mars, is traveling through Gemini right now, making you strategic in your ambitions. Your dreams are achieved through communication with your social circle, so get out and network in your community. With Mars in Gemini, your brain is super-charged with passion and drive, so express it for all to see.

Taurus rising – You have an EXCELLENT Spring ahead of you! Your ruling planet, Venus, has moved into Pisces, which is her natural home. Venus expresses herself easily though Pisces (exalted), and this makes Taurus’s life flow smoothly. In fact, every sign is feeling this enhancement in matters of relationships, art, beauty, love and socializing.
Projects or jobs started now will make  good money down the road. Most important is for Taurus to live in reality and the truth.

Gemini rising – In a word, ACTION. With Mars in your sign it’s time for you to be self-propelled and decisive – which is challenging for a Gemini. It’s no longer enough to spin around in your head about things you want to do, you need to make a plan and stick to it. If you can do this, and stay in your truth, your life will positively expand. The universe is helping you do that for the next couple of months.

Cancer Rising – You are benefitted by the North Node (good luck and destiny) in Cancer for the next year or so. Fertility, creativity and vulnerability are all qualities that each sign can aspire to this year. The New Moon in Aries today is giving you a kick start towards fully expressing yourself without limits or judgement.

Leo Rising – The New Moon in Aries, Jupiter in Sagittarius, and your ruler the Sun (exalted in Aries) are all sending you some lovely, fresh energy to get your passions rolling out to the public. You are probably feeling some sparkly energy and excitement this month. Aries is asking you to get started on the dreams you’ve been sitting on all winter.

Virgo rising – Ugh. OK well things aren’t too bad, but you’re feeling a little untethered to the Earth. Your ruler, Mercury is still slogging through Pisces (detriment). Mercury doesn’t really dig being there, it’s too dreamy and unfocused. I advise to work on embracing your visions for the future, and network your future potential with other people. Mercury will be in Aries soon (in two weeks), and you will be ready to start taking real action.

Libra rising – The New Moon in Aries is supercharging your partnership sector – which includes lovers AND biz associates. It’s a difficult time to pin them down on anything because there’s so much energy in the air, but Mars in Gemini is a good mediator. Progress can be made by having a plan and talking it out.

Scorpio rising – Your svengali-type characteristics are currently super-charged with your ruler, Mars, abiding in Gemini. You are the great mastermind behind everything in your arena. That New Moon in Aries is motivating you to take action on things near and dear to your soul. It’s all about focusing that razor-sharp mind of yours towards daily goals.

Sagittarius rising – You value truth, honor and integrity, and Jupiter in it’s natural home in Sagittarius (exalted) is inspiring you with new philosophies about your identity. You’re feeling at home and centered with the new expansion of your world that started last December. The only issue right now is that things might come TOO easily. Remember to challenge yourself with things that you want but are not firmly in your grasp. Also, try not to gain too much weight. Jupiter in Sag increases everything, even your waistline.

Capricorn rising — You are currently expunging and purifying your past with Saturn, Pluto, and the North Node traveling together in Capricorn. At least Saturn (your ruler) is giving you tremendous stability and support! Saturn in Capricorn is in it’s rulership, and it’s energies of discipline, concentration, responsibility, ambition and focus are easily accessed. There might be some big challenges you’re facing; the only way forward is to evolve. The universe is asking you to release any unhealthy motivations around power and control, and to move towards vulnerability.

The Sun: The Sun’s entrance into Aries Wednesday, March 20th, heralds the Spring Equinox, and the beginning of the astrological year. It is FINALLY a great time for Sun magick! Still avoid Mercury or Venus magick for the rest of March. Focus on Jupiter (in Sagittarius) and Saturn (in Capricorn) which are very strong.

Mercury: Mercury sloshing around in Pisces, AND retrograde. Use your intuition and gut instincts; that’s all we have now.
Retrograde times are about reassessing our foundations so we can refocus ourselves. It’s not a bad or unlucky time; just be observant and notice how these retrograde periods effect you personally. The specific planet that’s retrograding is going over a specific part of your chart three different times, and that’s where things get interesting. Venus: We have a “mutual reception” going on with Uranus in Taurus and Venus in Aquarius – each planet in a sign ruled by the other planet. There’s a wild electrical charge in relationships right now. A desire for radical love and freedom in self expression. Women cannot be limited in any way right now.

Uranus: Uranus into Taurus: March 6th to 2025 – massive change and upheaval regarding borders and land (possible wars over land values). We radically shift the foundations of our lives. Also, liberation and new ways of dealing with animals and plants. Freedom and genius with regards to relationships and possessions (Scorpios in particular). Wednesday, March 20th: SPRING EQUINOX and Full Moon in Libra. We are at a turning point; a crossroads. The goal is to maintain balance within ourselves, bring balance into our lives, and then into our relationships. Saturday, March 23rd: Moon in Scorpio. Any activities regarding healing, transformations or purification are great. Pursue spirituality or occult studies. Expect deep connections with others, and the inspiration for transform your life.

Sunday, March 24th: The mood lightens today as the Moon moves towards Sagittarius, but there’s still a serious, Scorpionic tone. Be lighthearted today, and go on an adventure.
