Total Solar Eclipse at 24° Cancer in Ashlesha Nakshatra.
August 12, 2026
(9:58 a.m. – 11:34 a.m. PT). On the threshold of the emerging self.

An eclipse means we are at a turning point, and new insights are coming. The tension is between what is familiar (but not entirely healthy) and that which is emerging (but is not yet embodied or familiar).

There is potential for a major release of old patterns (Ashlesha the Snake), and stepping away from old roles (represented by Magha).

The Sun and Moon will meet at the end of sidereal Cancer, (conjunct over gandanta zone) with Ketu (South Node) in Magha Nakshatra. This event will be accompanied by exalted Jupiter and Mercury – making it a complete conjunction of 3 sattvic (happy) planets. 

Hidden truths or challenges surfacing, especially for the “kings” and rulers, since the Sun rules government and Ketu (the cutter) is there. Sun also rules our vitality, heart, backbone, confidence, and energy. This will be blocked by Ketu and can diminish its functions too. 

At a total solar eclipse, light energy is weakened, and darkness briefly increases. Rahu (the North Node) is gain and attraction, Ketu (the South Node) is loss and repulsion. This eclipse is aligned with Ketu – which wants to cut and liberate.

Ketu is occultism, witchcraft, magic and spirituality; compulsive and unconscious  behaviors, mental illness, fears, nightmares, addiction,  bad habits, poisons, parasites and theft.

Nakshatra: Shravana

The Full Moon in Capricorn is directly opposite the Sun/Jupiter in Cancer. This is one of the most charged lunations of the year. Moon is conjunct retrograde Pluto.

The Moon’s conjunction to Pluto is the heart of this lunation’s intensity. Pluto works underground, in the roots, in the places we don’t examine until something forces us to. When the Moon meets Pluto, our feelings go deep into truth. What comes up this week has been fermenting for months, maybe longer, in the unconscious. Pluto conjunct the Moon asks for total honesty about what we feel, not the curated version, not the version that keeps the peace. Issues around control, power, loyalty, or survival demand your full expression rather than your “management”.

Across from that Moon-Pluto conjunction sits the Sun fused with Jupiter in Cancer… so close to exact that traditional astrologers call it cazimi. Jupiter is purified in the Sun’s fire, amplifying every Cancerian theme of security, home environment, and emotionally safety. The Sun-Jupiter conjunction wants to expand, to trust, and to believe. Opposite the Moon’s meeting with Pluto, this creates real tension between the impulse toward more light and the pull toward the depths. Cancer says FEEL, Pluto says first tell the truth about what’s buried. Both are necessary, and this full moon holds them in the sky at the same time.

The Moon trine Uranus during this lunation offers a doorway through the intensity. Uranus in Gemini opens channels of sudden insight, conversations that shift something, information that arrives right on time. If the Moon-Pluto conjunction brings the depth and the Sun-Jupiter conjunction brings the expansion, the trine to Uranus lets a genuine breakthrough instead of just building pressure. Pay attention to what clicks into place during these days almost by accident. That’s the trine doing its work.

Ritually, this is a full moon for truth telling rather than performance. Write down what you’ve been avoiding feeling. Name the resentments you have about power dynamics in your own life – whether that’s in a relationship, a workplace, or your relationship to your own authority. Then ask what to build from that honesty. Held together, under a Capricorn Moon, that death and that expansion serve something bigger than either one alone: a self strong enough to shine, and generous enough to shine for more than itself.

Full Moon at 14° Scorpio (sidereal) tonight at 1:45am. It falls in the nakshatra of Anuradha – the place of belonging, friendship and devotion. This brings healing energy around connections, friendships, and communities. We find a sense of who we are in relation to others; it helps us tune in to where we belong. With Scorpio we need to be acknowledged, to correct injustice, and to have our boundaries respected.

SCORPIO = regeneration, transformation, rebirth, boundaries, sex, and the occult. Scorpio Moon can bring up issues around power and control.

We can see clearly through illusion. It is important to vibrate high and stay away from toxic people and situations.

Scorpio can be as intense as it sounds. Avoid social complications this weekend, however It’s possible to deeply connect with a lover or companion. This is a weekend to go within and explore your own triggers, face your fears, swim through your own depths and rebirth yourself. Scorpio is a psychological sign, and the Full Moon will illuminate the depths of your psyche.

This Full Moon is further enhanced by Scorpio’s ruler, Mars, in it’s natural rulership of Aries. After slogging around in Pisces for several weeks, the warrior planet is finding traction and direction. You’ll find you can make forward progress on things that have felt held up or stuck. We can easily access our truth, self confidence, and precise boundary setting. Mars is asking you to look at your goals too; are they in alignment with your highest self?

Look at your energy and drive because they are valuable. Is your current job or project worth what you’re spending the time on? Do you need to make a change?

What about your ambitions, life path and direction? Are they aligned with the life and world you want to create?

Saturn and Neptune are still traveling together in the watery, nebulous energy of Pisces. Saturn is being challenged to hold structure in what is completely unknown (Pisces). This relates to AI and how it pushes the edge of reality. Be aware that what you think might be real may not be real at all. What is true in one way can be completely differently true in another way. It’s rare to have Saturn and Neptune together in Pisces. It gives us the ability to see illusion for what it really is, and that is liberating.

Full Moon at 15° Libra on Friday, May 1st at 10:23 a.m. PDT

The Full Moon will light up the heart of Libra, specifically in Swati Nakshatra. This is the lunar mansion of Vayu, the god of prana or life-air, who brings the winds of change. This is a transitional weekend for you – moving from one state of consciousness to a new, uplifting one.

Swati is symbolized by a young sprout swaying in the wind, and its shakti is the “power to scatter like the wind.”Things manifest themselves from chaos, and the winds scatter the seeds of a new life so that the strongest will take root and grow. On the individual level, Swati carries the desire to move freely and independently. It can stimulate travel, exploration, and a need for space.

The Moon will be aspected by an exalted Sun and Venus, which brings positive changes coming into our lives. To access this new level of consciousness, we need to fundamentally transform something within, uproot the old and welcome the new chapter. Sidereally, the Sun has moved into it’s exaltation in Aries which is a fresh starting point. The Sun is trying to push us forward, to begin again and to grow.

Keep in mind, a Full Moon is directly opposite the Sun, and on Friday it’s receiving all of the fiery, pure light from this fresh, exalted Sun. It’s the culmination of a month that is trying to push us forward!

Don’t be discouraged if there’s some initial friction with this change. Things will settle down once we get deeper into the Spring.

Libra invites us to balance opposites, access our empathy, AND hold strong boundaries at the same time. Libra is a sign of balance and justice, and boundaries ensure we are staying true to ourselves. They prevent injustice and mistreatment – so be aware of this in your interactions with people right now. It’s more important than ever for you to speak your truth.

Mercury slogged past its conjunctions with Saturn and Mars in Pisces last month, and is now poised on the threshold of Aries. Look for fresh, strong communication and clarity with people, but be careful of thoughtless or harsh speech. Try to think things through before speaking, and avoid blurting out things you’ll regret. Let go of the need to “be right”.

Mars will move into Aries on May 12th, breaking its oppressive conjunction with Saturn in Pisces. It’s been a tough April folks. After 5/12 problems will reduce significantly, and you’ll find your plans moving forward.

Sun enters Taurus on May 15th, which supports each of us overcoming blocks and obstacles (either within ourselves or in relationships. You can achieve success through personal courage and effort.

Rahu (North Node 🐍) is in Aquarius (it’s own nakshatra of Shatabhisha) until August 2nd, 2026. Then it enters Dhanishtha. It’s power will reduce, and we will be able to see through illusions better and take action as needed.

JUPITER will enter it’s exaltation in CANCER (PUNARVASU, 5th from the Moon) on June 2nd, 2026 ❤

We have a Full Moon Eclipse occurring in the middle of the night

Mars (war, conflict) conjuncted the Sun (Ego) this weekend, while squaring Uranus (sudden events)… and the U.S. bombed Iran igniting huge unrest throughout the Middle East. There will likely be further turmoil throughout this week due to this eclipse. Avoid conflicts and aggression in your personal life. It’s interesting that this eclipse is in Leo, which can trigger the downfall of power structures, leaders, and kings.

Where have we optimized outer performance while neglecting the inner life that sustains it?

Forming on the South Node, this eclipse is triggering karmic clearing. We are ready to dissolve outdated structures, inherited obligations, and patterns of control that once felt necessary but now feel constrictive. Meanwhile, Mercury has turned retrograde in Pisces, and a stellium there saturates the atmosphere with fog. The line between truth and illusion feels perilously thin.

This lunar eclipse is also the Holi full moon in India, the festival of color that marks the turn toward spring. Holi is celebrated with fire: the #HolikaDahan bonfires that symbolize burning away resentment and negativities. Dramatic and positive new perspectives and attitudes can awaken with this full moon/lunar eclipse.

As the Moon turns red in the sky, we are asked to release what has outlived its purpose and recommit to what is truly growing. The fog of this season is undeniable, but so is the clarity waiting on the other side of an honest reckoning. We are ready for great momentum. This is how we prepare for it.

The Full Moon occured this morning around 5am PST at 18° Aries. It’s a Supermoon – the biggest and brightest full moon of 2025. This Moon brings peak experiences with exploration, physicality, courage, and our personal story. Aries is a fiery sign, and indicates new clarity and energy. Since this Full Moon takes place in the area of the sky known as Bharani, regeneration is highlighted. It’s a time of accepting endings, and nurturing new beginnings.

Today is also Kartik Purnima, one of the most sacred full moon days in the Hindu calendar, it symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. It is the “Diwali of the Gods”, marking the day when gods are believed to descend on earth to celebrate Diwali on the banks of the Ganga. Burn some candles today.

There’s also a meteor shower tonight, bringing more light to the sky. It’s an opportunity to bring more light into our lives. Several planets are in extaordinarily positive positions right now, we can make real progress on things that are important to us.

We begin this week with a New Moon at 4° Libra, AND the auspicious Diwali festival of light! This New Moon is important on a spiritual level because it comes with Diwali, which symbolizes light overcoming darkness, and knowledge overcoming ignorance. It is a huge festival celebrated over several days, and is associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and Ganesha, the god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles.

This New Moon brings hope, and has a spark of divine light. It occurs near the star Chitra, which is the star of opportunity. It brings the power of Vishwakarma – the deity of innovative designs and crafting. Also, Jupiter, the planet of luck and wisdom, has just entered Cancer! This is a high placement, and Jupiter is exalted, giving his wisdom and light in the most nourishing ways! It happens only once every 12 years too, so this is a great transit.

On Sunday we had a Full Moon Eclipse in Aquarius. Moon conjunct Rahu (North Node). You had to be in Asia, Australia, or Africa to see it ❤ The energies of this eclipse are unfolding for ALL of us this week. What are your commitments to friends, groups or projects? Your plans for the future? Perhaps getting out and protesting for important causes? These are general themes this eclipse season is kicking up for us.

This Full Moon is a portal that all of us pass through. Because it’s in the sign of Aquarius, in the nakshatra Purva Bhadrapada, it is VERY fiery. It symbolizes a funeral pyre – the fire that separates the soul from the body. There is a strong emphasis on spiritual awakening leading to a powerful rebirth. It brings breakthroughs, courageous life changes and transformation; prompting individuals to break from conventional paths. Eclipses bring a stronger momentum to liberate oneself from old patterns. Eclipses are the power of shadow overtaking light.

This is a powerful time for setting intentions of transformation and liberation from the past. The axis of Rahu (future) and Ketu (past) is now lined up in Aquarius and Leo, which enhances social movements. It’s great for activism, but there’s also a risk of obsessiveness. Who we are as a collective, and how we are governed, is going through massive shifts.

Normally I would say “Sun’s in Leo! Do Sun Magick!” BUT NOT THIS YEAR. Ketu, the South Node of the Moon, is transiting the sign of Leo until Dec. 2026, which strangely enough, diminishes the power of kings. It’s a strange time for Leos, or anyone with Leo rising. The combination of Ketu’s detached, introspective energy with Leo’s vibrant but ego-driven nature encourages spiritual growth and the pursuit of a deeper, more intrinsic understanding of self. It’s not a time to be flashy, but to lead with compassion.

Also, if you have any planets around 6° or any sign, they are getting strongly activated right now. Put your energy towards wrapping up past projects that have been bugging you for awhile. Nurture yourself with good food and rest.

She is in her detriment in Capricorn, which celebrates “getting ahead” more than being vulnerable. People become cautious and it’s hard to get concessions from authority figures. The energies of this Full Moon will unfold over the week ahead giving us peak experiences with our ambitions, career, and personal story.

We have a six planet alignment just after sunset tonight with Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, and Saturn — all bright and easily visible to the naked eye — and Uranus and Neptune, which can be seen with the aid of binoculars. Many falling stars this weekend with the Perseid meteors streaking across the sky.
