Venus at 25 Gemini (neutral)
Mars at 19 Aries (Rulership)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 19 Capricorn (fall, very weak)

Saturday was Lughnasadh, the first harvest festival of the year. It’s a Gaelic festival that was observed in ancient times by jumping over bonfires, athletic contests, community festivals, huge feasts and celebrations of the abundance of the Earth i.e. the cornucopia. It still widely celebrated throughout Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England, and is always held on August 1st. This is the midpoint between the Summer Solstice (June 21st) and Autumn Equinox (Sept. 22nd). You can read more here. Basically, whatever seeds you planted around the Spring Equinox of this year (March 20th) will start to bear fruit now. This can be a figurative harvest too, if you look at what you’re reaping in your life right now.

Lughnasadh, “Lúnasa” Modern Irish) Lùnastal (Scottish Gaelic) August 1st: Beginning of the harvest season, and offering of First Fruits.

We begin this week with the Full Moon at 11 Aquarius, which symbolizes liberty, community, invention, rebellion, and the desire for something new. This Full moon and Sun form a perfect square with Uranus in Taurus, which is Aquarius’s ruler. Uranus brings sudden change, liberation, radical ideas and shocking events. We might struggle more with the limits we are currently living with, as well as the avoidance of people. The Full Moon in Aquarius is a turning point, and often reveals visions, the truth, or hidden realities. Be open to revelations this week.

Monday, August 3rd: Full Moon in Aquarius. Express your genius and your gifts. No one else in the world can share your unique energy, so it’s up to you. People are friendly, and progress can be made in communications. With an Aquarius Moon, video chat with your friends or community. Mercury opposition Pluto is exact. This can be heavy, and can lead to pessimism, anxiety and depression. Practice mindfulness today and avoid heavy conversations.

Tuesday, August 4th: Moon void-of-course in Aquarius until 7:30pm Pacific. A void Moon always means to follow previously established plans. Stay away from risks and stabilize what’s in progress. Think about the future. With an Aquarius Moon, it’s good to “detach and observe” rather than bursting out emotionally. Mars square Jupiter is exact, amplifying Mars square Pluto. Case numbers and deaths could elevate significantly. If you’re protesting be very careful of the virus AND the police.

Wednesday, August 5th: Moon in Pisces. Follow your intuition, go with the flow, and make time for solitude. Mercury went into Leo last night, so folks could become passionate and stubborn over the next few weeks. Focus on creativity, writing and music.

Thursday, August 6th: Moon in Pisces. Meditate and contemplate. Music and spirituality soothe the soul and ignite our imaginations.

Friday, August 7th: Moon In Pisces. Creative and peaceful day. Venus enters Cancer, which brings us closer to food, home and family. For writers and artists, imagination is enhanced and we can capture emotions in art. Jupiter sextile Neptune is a beautiful influence on our creativity, and we might produce something special and unique.

Saturday, August 8th: Moon in Aries. We will be full of energy and ambition today, but get yourself grounded before undertaking anything. Lots of energy for socializing, adventures, creativity, and beginning new projects.

Sunday, August 9th: Moon in Aries. We are still feeling energetic and good progress can be made in the morning and afternoon. Moon enters Taurus in the evening, bringing our attention to the coziness of home. Nice evening to cook and be around loved ones. Mercury trine Chiron is exact today and can bring new ideas surrounding our emotional wounds and how to heal them.

Week of July 6th

Mount Hood, April 2019 by Autumn Schrock

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 14 Cancer
Mercury RETROGRADE at 7 Cancer (weak)
Venus at 7 Gemini (neutral)
Mars at 4 Aries (STRONG. Rulership)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 23 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 29 Capricorn (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 24 Capricorn
Neptune RETROGRADE at 20 Pisces (rulership)
North Node at 28 Gemini

This week begins in the orb of the Full Moon Eclipse at 13 Capricorn. This is the last of a series of three eclipses over the past month, and is a culmination of what’s been building up in our lives since January. The events unfolding this week are both a reflection and an amplification of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction from January 12th of this year. That was the astrological event that heralded the appearance of Covid19, and the rebuilding of the entire world.

Get comfortable in your home (Cancer Sun), because we will be in lockdown all year (Saturn/Capricorn). It’s just the way it is, so the sooner you can accept this and plan for it, the better off you will be. I only look six months ahead, and I know we will be in lockdown through December at a minimum. Saturn and Pluto always bring about a reordering of society, and we are seeing it happen before our eyes. The entire world’s infrastructure is being rebuilt.

Also, Jupiter and Pluto will be circling around each other all year, and are still in the conjunction they had last Monday. Is it a coincidence that Covid cases began spiking again this week? Nope. Throughout history this conjunction brings an expansion of what has been repressed in our society i.e. racial injustice, wealth disparity and the destruction of nature (which brought us this pandemic).

This was the second of their three conjunctions this year; the last one will be on November 12, 2020. These three Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions start a new 38-year cycle around transformation and evolution. Each of these three conjunctions gives us an opportunity to release things we’ve outgrown as we continue down our evolutionary path.

When we release situations that aren’t attuned to us, we create space for what will. In April we started the purging of our lives, this month we do the actual clearing, and with the conjunction in November we’ll be ready to full commit to our new found lives. These next few months we clarify our plans for the new beginnings taking place in our lives. Release things holding you back. Clear out the old and outworn. Let go of baggage you no longer want to carry.

Meanwhile, Mars in Aries is accelerating and empowering our individual metamorphoses, and driving each of us to evolve, whether we’re ready of not. Your inner warrior is energized now. Go in the direction the Universe is pointing out to you, and put time, work, and energy towards that path.

Reconnect with yourself and be confident, hardy, ambitious, healthy, courageous, inspired, renewed, certain and dynamic! You have all of these qualities within you.

Take action on things that make you irritated, agitated, fearful, resentful, outraged and fed up.

Is there something happening that’s been pissing you off for months? Now is the time to own those feelings and take action. As Martha Beck says, anger is “the psychological equivalent of the immune system”; it’s a healthy and appropriate response to the presence of injustice. It’s time to right the wrongs, and use your emotions to move forward in your life.

Monday, July 6th: Moon in Aquarius. Events are still unfolding from the Full Moon Eclipse, so take things a step at a time. Express your genius and your gifts. No one else in the world can share your unique energy, so it’s up to you. People will be friendly, and progress can be made in communications. With an Aquarius Moon, visit your friends or community.

Tuesday, July 7th: Moon void-of-course in Aquarius all day ALL DAY!! A void Moon always means to lay low and follow well-laid plans. Stay away from risks or negotiation, instead stabilize what’s in progress. It’s a day of thinking about the future. With an Aquarius Moon, it’s always good to practice “detaching and observing” rather than bursting out emotionally.

Wednesday, July 8th: Moon into Pisces at 11:13am Pacific. Follow your intuition and go with the flow. Make some time for solitude. Mercury retrograde in Cancer squares Mars in Aries today, so avoid disruptions in the home. Advocate for yourself and hold your boundaries, but don’t pick a fight.

Thursday, July 9th: Moon in Pisces. Meditate and contemplate.

Friday, July 10th: Moon In Pisces. Creative and peaceful day.

Saturday, July 11th: Moon in Aries. We will be full of energy and ambition today, get yourself grounded and centered before undertaking anything. Bring some compassion into your day.

Full Moon in Taurus

pagandawnSun at 18 Scorpio.
Mercury at 19 Scorpio.
Mars at 24 Libra and Venus at 11 Sagittarius.
Jupiter at 24 Sagittarius.
Saturn at 16 Capricorn, Pluto at 21 Capricorn.
Uranus, Neptune retrograde.

Big events this week with Mercury crossing the face of the Sun today, and a Full Moon in Taurus tomorrow.

Mercury conjunct Sun in Scorpio allows us to connect with our soul’s purpose and express it outwardly. We go deep and finally say things we’ve been repressing or hiding. It’s time to be as authentic and real as possible.

Monday, 11/11: Moon in Taurus. Mercury crossing the Sun is the BIG thing today! It brings fresh ideas, new beginnings and clarity. We see the next phase of our path and we move towards it. This is a rare event that won’t happen again until 2032! Today we are also within the orb of the Full Moon in Taurus tomorrow, but first the Sun conjuncts Uranus, bringing an air of rebellion and independence.

Tuesday, 11/12: Full Moon in Taurus 5:34am Pacific, Sun in Scorpio. The Moon is exalted – in it’s best position – in Taurus, which allows for grounded thinking. We can sort through our emotions and make solid choices on the best direction.

Wednesday, 11/13: Moon in Gemini on the day of Mercury. Since the planet is currently retrograde, our focus is on researching, re-doing and re-working. Lots of chattiness and socializing too.

Thursday, 11/14: Moon in Gemini. Kind of a weird day with the Moon opposing both Venus and Jupiter during their square to Neptune. Facts evaporate as we grasp them, and the progress we made earlier in the week seems like a far off dream. Go with the flow and avoid excesses.

Friday, 11/15: Moon in Cancer. We slow down and turn our minds towards taking care of ourselves. Emotions rule the day, and comfort food is encouraged. Avoid confrontations because feelings are highly sensitive and you may not be forgiven.

Saturday, 11/16: Moon in Cancer. The Moon opposes Saturn and Pluto today, casting a melancholy shadow over our affairs. Try not to ruminate on yourself too much – or on the intentions of others. Distract yourself by going to an uplifting movie, or being of service to a friend in need.

Sunday, 11/17: Moon VOC in Cancer. It’s a “nesting” day of getting the house in order and cooking some nice meals.

Week of July 21st

Monday 7/22: Sun into Leo! Moon in Aries. Watch out for headstrong behavior. Be present with yourself, and channel strong emotions and impulses into your dreams.

Tuesday 7/23: Moon in Aries. Do things that take courage today, but keep it simple. Avoid huge, long conversations or negotiations. Actions that support your own desires or personal growth are highlighted.

Wednesday 7/24: Moon VOC in Aries until 2:42pm Pacific; then Moon in Taurus. So yeah, take it easy and deal with what’s in front of you. We also have Mercury conjunct Venus around 5:30pm Pacific, so work on your art. Be creative and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Thursday 7/25: Moon in Taurus, with the energizing Mars trine Jupiter. You can make real progress on things you’ve been procrastinating on. We are energized and focused. Today will feel great.

Friday 7/26: Moon in Taurus. Go for a walk and appreciate nature today. Excellent date night. We are now in the dark of the Moon, so turn your attention to releasing and wrapping up loose ends.

Saturday 7/27: Moon in Gemini plus Venus enters Leo at 6:54pm Pacific. Wonderful, chatty and romantic day. Sociable. Good day to see entertainment.

Sunday 7/28: Moon VOC in Gemini all day. Put your energy towards networking,, writing and creativity.

Full Moon in Cancer

Full Moon in Cancer – exact Saturday morning at 9:50 am Pacific.

This full moon occurred at the first degree of Cancer, which is the most powerful degree of any sign.

Whatever the last two weeks have been about, their key lessons are becoming real the next seven days. Try to keep things light over the holidays 🙂

July Astro

IMG_0242

Astrologically, the first days of July have been emotionally rough, and the best way through it has been to Feel our Feelings. The Sun is in Cancer which is the most emotionally sensitive sign of the zodiac. It directs our attention to unresolved family/home issues that need to be addressed and purged. Also, the Moon has been traveling through Scorpio the last few days – bringing up our deepest psychological knots to be healed. Mercury and Mars have been barreling through Cancer too, adding some extra urgency and heat. PLUS on Saturday, Chiron (the wounded healer) turned retrograde – activating the vulnerable place of old pain each of us carries. I mean seriously!! How much more can we take??!!

Be gentle with yourself this week, and take time for solitude if you need it. I do a lot of journaling during times like these, and often find nuggets of wisdom through reflection and dreams. As a wise friend once told me, “if you treat yourself like a precious jewel, everything will fall into place”. I find the deepest truths can be found in our recurring patterns. Is there something you need to sacrifice in order to release suffering?

Currently:
Mars opposing Pluto (the warrior faces Death, read this piece by Austin Coppock)
Mercury into Leo 5:20pm Pacific TODAY.
Full Moon in Capricorn this SUNDAY, July 9th (just work all weekend)
Venus in Gemini, Mars in Cancer (not happy) until July 20th.

So basically, next weekend could be the sequel to last… the Full Moon this Sunday is at the same degree as Pluto – so we will have a Full Moon conjunct Pluto which is also intensely emotional – but highly transformational. Pluto wants to help us rebirth ourselves by clearing out toxic sludge; it’s catharsis.

“Catharsis (from Greek κάθαρσις katharsis meaning “purification” or “cleansing”) is the purification and purgation of emotions—especially pity and fear—through art or any extreme change in emotion that results in renewal and restoration. It is a metaphor originally used by Aristotle in the Poetics, comparing the effects of tragedy on the mind of a spectator to the effect of a cathartic on the body.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharsis

The Sun is now in Cancer, about to catch up with Mercury and Mars which are also swimming through the sign of the Crab. This brings attention to the home front and the deep, vulnerable parts of ourselves. Be generous and kind to yourself for the next month. Focus on self nurturing and the things that bring you a sense of security (and of course straighten up your house). There’s been so much fiery storming through Gemini the last month, this new water vibe feels purifying and refreshing.
Jupiter is moving forward in Libra, giving a huge, fortunate expansion to relationships and partnerships of all kinds. Saturn continues it’s backward trek through Sagittarius, asking us to review the growth we’ve made in our life perspectives over the past several months. Where is your faith and truth?
Uranus is in the last degrees of Aries, about to jump into Taurus. It will be another year or two before the Revolutionary planet trines (throws supportive love) to Pluto in Capricorn, but when it does, look out. We are in the throws of a decaying, outworn paradigm (Capricorn), and something fresh, earth-based and humanitarian is about to take shape. The old way of doing things cannot survive the upcoming radical change.

Although it’s challenging, we need to be honest with ourselves and grounded in reality. There’s simply no more chances for people or situations that diminish you.
