Elizabeth Rose Psychic and Tarot was officially formed in the summer of 2007. After giving thousands of readings and completing years of deep study and training, I decided to pursue my passion and dedicate myself to healing people full time. There’s nothing more meaningful to me than sharing the wisdom I’ve earned, and giving others support and hope through the rough patches in their lives.

Experience

Elizabeth Rose is a highly regarded American occultist and psychic living in San Francisco. As a regular visitor to a local curiosity shop, she befriended a local Witch who taught her astrology, magic and tarot. This led to her formal initiation into the Craft in 1988. She continued her studies by joining the Clairvoyant training program at Psychic Horizons, graduating as a reverend in 1993.
With a hunger for art and history she enrolled at SFSU and studied the ancient connections between shamanism and theater. Majoring in Drama with an emphasis in World Religions, she studied the history of Greek and European theater as well as Women’s Studies. She graduated with a BA in Drama & Performance in 1997. Since then she has expanded her occult knowledge through studies of Irish folklore, Chinese astrology, and Feng Shui. She is an adept healer and psychic, and continues her practice of tarot readings, psychic healings and marriage ceremonies while exploring her skills as a local musician.

Interview:

How and when did you first find out about your ‘psychic abilities’?
I’ve been psychic for as long as I can remember. As a child I was deeply tuned in to nature – to fields, mountains, and trees. I would often sit quietly and feel the earth breathing under my feet, or watch the moon grow and diminish. I would sense future events very clearly and I communed with animals. I had a favorite horse I would spend time with when I was five years old, and I loved tending salamanders and frogs in our backyard.

How was it growing up with these special skills. Are they natural talents or did you study and develop them?
As a Scorpio with Pisces rising, I do believe I have a natural affinity for psychic work, but I also studied in a rigorous Clairvoyant training program for three years; graduating as a Reverend in 1993.

Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?
I believe all people are born with psychic abilities. As children we feel our sixth sense very strongly, but as we age these gifts become buried under people’s expectations and society’s responsibilities. I think psychic ability is innately human – much like a ‘muscle’ that needs to be developed, trusted, and strengthened.

What type of mentality do you think it takes to develop these skills?
Well, first I think a person needs the ambition to develop them. I had a series of odd experiences that led me in the direction of this kind of work. I’ve also survived many challenging situations in my life that gave me the deep and fearless perspective I needed to face the truth. A love of humanity and a childlike wonder about the world are also important qualities.

Are you able to turn your psychic abilities ‘on’ or ‘off’ when you want to? Do you have any rituals to turn them ‘on’.
I feel it’s a question of focus. My senses are always present, but they fade into the background of my experience unless I turn my consciousness towards them. My abilities are most present when I’m in my own space, surrounded by my books, statues and magical objects.

How did you get into doing psychic readings?
I’ve been fascinated by the Tarot and Astrology since a very early age, and even created artwork for my own tarot deck when I was 14 years old. My studies of Tarot, magic, and healing began in earnest when I reached the age of 22, and I’ve been exploring and deepening my knowledge ever since.

What happens during a psychic reading?
First I get a vision of the person when I hear their birthday and name. If the client asks me a question, I get the answer in the form of images. I tell the client what I’m seeing, and as we dialogue back and forth more information comes into clear focus. I always look for a way to tie the issues into the larger backdrop of someone’s life as well. I never look further than four months ahead, as I feel that it means taking away some possibilities of a person’s future by predicting the rest of their life.

What is your primary tool for divination? What is your specialty?
I love Tarot cards. I start with them when I’m doing a general reading. It gives me a very clear view of the atmosphere around a person.

Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?
I usually get impressions or fragments of sentences from those who have crossed over.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your abilities or a good experience?
I find my work so rewarding. I’m thankful to have these skills, and to be able to help others. I enjoy speaking with people from so many different backgrounds. The greatest reward is helping my clients work their way through their challenges, so they can find their true path through life.
