New Moon in Taurus

New Moon at 29° Taurus, June 14th 2026

🌑 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗨𝗦 (𝗠𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗔 𝗡𝗔𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗥𝗔) “This New Moon is asking us to purify the motive beneath the search. In the sidereal zodiac, the Sun and Moon meet at the final degree of Taurus, within 𝗠𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 — the searching star.

This is not simply another New Moon. It happens at the very edge of Taurus, right before the Moon moves into Gemini. This can create a feeling that something is changing, something is coming, or something is slowly being revealed, but we may not fully understand it yet.
This New Moon begins at a doorway.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗛𝗜 𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧
In Vedic astrology, this doorway is called 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗵𝗶. Sandhi means “joining” or “junction.” It is the sensitive place where one sign is ending and another sign is beginning.
The Moon is moving from Taurus into Gemini, but it remains in Mrigashira Nakshatra for a while because Mrigashira itself crosses the Taurus–Gemini boundary. This is important because the searching star continues across the doorway.
Taurus is connected with security, stability, the body, food, money, beauty and what we hold onto. Gemini is connected with communication, movement, information, curiosity and the restless activity of the mind.
Sandhi is the sacred doorway between what is dissolving and what is still forming.
About 17 minutes after the New Moon, the Moon moves into Gemini, where Mercury is already waiting in its own sign. This brings a blessing. Mercury can help translate confusion into understanding. It can help us find the right words, the right message, the right conversation or the right insight at the right time.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚖️ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚
This New Moon contains both pressure and blessing.
Yes, we are moving through a powerful 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗮 pattern, where the classical planets are gathered on one side of the sky between Rahu and Ketu. This can reflect a world temporarily feeling off balance. It can create karmic pressure, collective intensity, sudden events and the feeling that humanity is moving through a narrow corridor of destiny.
But this is only one side of the chart.
Mercury is strong in Gemini, bringing intelligence, communication and understanding. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, offering wisdom, protection, faith and emotional maturity. Venus joins exalted Jupiter in Cancer, bringing love, compassion, devotion, creativity and healing of the heart.
So while Kala Sarpa may describe the pressure of the times, the rest of the chart shows that we are not without guidance, support or grace.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🦌 𝗠𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗔 — 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥
Mrigashira means “the head of the deer.” The deer represents the restless search for fulfillment.
In the Vedic story of Mrigashira, Prajapati, the creator, becomes overwhelmed by desire and begins chasing the feminine creative force in the form of a deer. The deer represents the thing we believe will finally satisfy us, complete us or give us the nectar of life.
This is where the story becomes very human.
We all chase something.
We may chase love, security, money, beauty, success, knowledge, spiritual truth, another relationship, another country, another message or another sign from the universe.
But when desire becomes unconscious, the search can become endless.
This is where Rudra appears. Rudra releases the arrow that cuts through the distortion. This arrow is the moment of truth. It stops the endless chase and asks the deeper question:
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿?
The soul is searching for Soma, the nectar of life, but the search must be purified. We may think we are chasing a person, a place, an answer or an opportunity, but often we are really searching for the feeling we believe those things will give us.
During this New Moon, the Sun and Moon join in Mrigashira, making this search emotional, internal and deeply personal. The real question is not only, “What do I want?” The deeper question is, “Why am I chasing it?”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
☯️ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗜 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗘
The I Ching message for this New Moon came through as 𝗛𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝟮𝟮 — 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 / 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆, changing into 𝗛𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝟱𝟯 — 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
This is beautifully aligned with the astrology. Hexagram 22 reminds us that beauty, desire and appearance must be connected to truth. Something may look beautiful, exciting or attractive, but we still must ask whether it truly nourishes the soul.
Hexagram 53 teaches patience. The real path develops gradually. Not everything needs to be forced, rushed or figured out all at once.
The I Ching is saying: do not chase the appearance of fulfillment. Return to what is real. Do not rush the answer. Let the path mature.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🌑 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗪 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗘
The shadow side of Mrigashira is endless searching. The deer keeps running. The mind keeps looking. The heart keeps believing the answer is just beyond the next person, the next message, the next relationship, the next opportunity or the next sign.
This can create a pattern of chasing and never knowing when to stop. We may continue pursuing something long after it has stopped nourishing us, simply because the nervous system has become addicted to the search itself.
This is why discernment is so important under this New Moon.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is recognize when the search has become a distraction from the deeper healing that is trying to happen within us.
The energy and Shakti of this New Moon is to purify the motive beneath the search.

🌙 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.
𝗕𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗵𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗮

We are in the last quarter of the Moon this week – a time of reflection and quiet. We have a few days to wrap up loose ends, get organized, finish things, pay debts and simply rest. I always equate the dark of the Moon with the hours before dawn; the hush over the land. It’s the time of Magick and vivid dreaming.

Mercury in Gemini is in his element. It’s an excellent time for Mercury Magick. Our minds are honed, and we can wield the sword of truth. Socializing, writing, studying and communication are highlighted for the next month. Commerce and negotiation are also able to move forward after being stuck since last Fall.

Gemini is associated with the lungs, bronchial system, shoulders, arms, hands, and nervous system, as well as the mental circuitry that keeps us connected, curious, and moving. When Gemini energy is balanced, it supports learning, adaptability, responsiveness, and quick thinking. When it is overloaded, it can show up as nervous agitation, scattered attention, shallow breathing, tension through the shoulders, difficulty switching off, and the feeling of being mentally “on” all the time.

This month, the invitation is simple: do not wait until your nervous system is fried before deciding it deserves support.” – Dev Patel

Full Moon at 17° Cancer, Sunday Feb 1st. This is according to sidereal or Vedic astrology.

Today’s powerful Full Moon is in the deeply mystical nakshatra called Ashlesha. It’s in the sign of Cancer, and it’s where the deep spirits of the Earth dwell in the form of snakes. There is poison here, but also the antidote, which is interesting to me. Ashlesha uses its sharp intellect and strong intuition to find its way through the world. It symbolizes great healing ability, and the power to control poison. This relates to medicines and substances of all kinds.

This Full Moon starts off the month of February with sensitivity, emotion, and spiritual opening. It’s encouraged to purify yourself by bathing or meditation. If needed, clear the air with someone and speak the truth. Let go of any poison you’re carrying in the form of thoughts, words or actions.

The Full Moon occured this morning around 5am PST at 18° Aries. It’s a Supermoon – the biggest and brightest full moon of 2025. This Moon brings peak experiences with exploration, physicality, courage, and our personal story. Aries is a fiery sign, and indicates new clarity and energy. Since this Full Moon takes place in the area of the sky known as Bharani, regeneration is highlighted. It’s a time of accepting endings, and nurturing new beginnings.

Today is also Kartik Purnima, one of the most sacred full moon days in the Hindu calendar, it symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. It is the “Diwali of the Gods”, marking the day when gods are believed to descend on earth to celebrate Diwali on the banks of the Ganga. Burn some candles today.

There’s also a meteor shower tonight, bringing more light to the sky. It’s an opportunity to bring more light into our lives. Several planets are in extaordinarily positive positions right now, we can make real progress on things that are important to us.

New Moon in Taurus

Current Sidereal placements:
Sun at 11° Taurus
Mercury 8° Taurus
Venus at 26° Pisces (EXALTED! Do Venus stuff!)
Mars at 24° Cancer (detriment, no Mars Magick now)

Saturn at 6° Pisces
Uranus at 3° Taurus
Neptune at 7° Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 9° Capricorn
North Node at 0° Pisces

New Moon at 11° Taurus. The Moon is “exalted” in Taurus, which means it expresses itself easily. This gives a calm, sensuous and indulgent feel to last weekend. The Sun in an earth sign brings up the issue of what we’re committing ourselves to, and if we need to update our agreements.

A new moon occurs every month when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign. It’s the beginning of a 30-day lunar cycle, and it’s when you set your intentions for the coming month. As the Moon grows, your intention grows in form and scope; coming to fruition at the full Moon two weeks later. Forming an intention is instinctual, since the Moon is black and there’s no illumination of the night sky. The Sun (the light) is also hidden, so we must ‘feel” our way, since we cannot see clearly.

The BIG change however, is that Rahu and Ketu have just entered new signs for the coming 18 months and are hovering at 0 degrees. This creates instability and uncertainty. Where are Aquarius and Leo in your Vedic chart? It shows what’s being activated in this new cycle. To find out where the change is, you can book a reading with me here.

Jupiter has also entered Gemini for the next year, and will offer increased creativity, expansion with communication and self expression. Kickstart your mind into a higher gear, and focus on achieving your potential.

Mars is still languishing in the sign of Cancer, where he is supremely unhappy. If there’s been trouble in the home the past couple of months don’t despair, we’re almost through it!

Uranus is currently in Taurus, and it will shake up and change wherever Taurus sits in your chart. It’s probably an area that has started feeling stagnant; a corner of your life that needs some fresh air. Uranus brings liberation, and a new way of expressing the genius within you. This corner of your life will radically transform in the next seven years.

Full Moon in Libra

Current Sidereal placements:
Sun at 28° Aries (EXALTED! Excellent time for Sun Magick!
Mercury 8° Aries
Venus at 13° Pisces (EXALTED! Do Venus stuff!)
Mars at 16° Cancer (detriment, no Mars Magick now)
Jupiter at 29° Taurus
Saturn at 4° Pisces
Uranus at 2° Taurus
Neptune at 7° Pisces (rulership)
Pluto at 9° Capricorn
North Node at 1° Pisces

Today! Monday, May 12th we have a Full Moon in Libra. Romance is in the air. We can have positive conversations and work out agreements with people. The focus is on playing fair and taking everyone’s feelings into account. Work towards win-win situations. This Moon focuses on relationships and reflects the culmination of what’s been building up this Spring.

The Sun in Aries symbolizes the “self” and individuality, and it’s opposite, Libra, represents balance, fairness, relationships, equality and justice. Libra is the sign where we have to deal with other people, so all of our relationships and partnerships will be highlighted this week. It’s a great time to hammer out new, balanced agreements at work too.

The Sun will be in a conjunction with Uranus on this Full Moon too, so expect the unexpected. Literally anything can happen. Self love can be understood on a new level.

Week of July 15th: Mars conjunct Uranus

TODAY, July 15th, 2024 we have a conjunction between Mars and Uranus, just 1/2 a degree apart, at 0° Taurus. This is a significant aspect that last occurred in 1936! Because it’s at the start or seed of Taurus (0°), current developments will set the tone for awhile.

We are finally getting “unstuck”, and energy is opening up! If you’ve been in limbo in some corner of your life, you’ll find renewed energy and clarity about how to move forward.

This aspect could lead to sudden changes and shifts, especially in areas related to Taurus, such as money, values, and environment.

Thus in fear and trembling the Superior person sets their life in order and examines themself.~ The I Ching (hexagram 51)

This conjunction gives us the courage to stand up and stand out; to demand the freedom to live your own life. It is a restless and excitable aspect. In an atmosphere in which many are feeling stuck, Mars/Uranus can be the catalyst to get us un-stuck, and to see things in a whole new light.

Week of July 8th: New Moon in Gemini

Current Sidereal Placements:
Sun at 22 Gemini
Mercury at 14 Cancer
Venus at 0 Cancer
Mars at 25 Aries (rulership)
Jupiter at 14 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 24 Aquarius (rulership)
Uranus at 0 Taurus
Neptune RETROGRADE at 4 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 6 Capricorn
North Node at 15 Pisces

We had a New Moon at 20 Gemini last Friday. Every New Moon is a new beginning, and this one brings a change in attitude. The urge to get out and socialize will be strong, but a trine with Saturn asks us to keep our boundaries and practice self discipline too. This New Moon is great for activities requiring mental fortitude – especially study. Focus on simplifying your life.

The difficult news, is Mars traveling through the end of Aries and burning us all up in the process. This transit brings extreme heat, fires, battles, explosions, eruptions, and general drama. I’ve never experienced this current two week long heat wave before in my life. Every day we have temperatures over 105° and it’s overwhelming. I’m sad for the future of our society and planet.

There are some lovely sextiles happening this week. The first, between Mercury at 14 Cancer and Jupiter at 14 Taurus. While Mercury isn’t happy slogging through Cancer, we can focus our attentions and communication to our financial security during this time. The most interesting sextile, is the one between Venus and Uranus both at 0° Cancer and Taurus respectively. This is a complete reset in our relationships and friendships; but with Uranus in the mix, some events could take us by surprise. Be thoughtful and speak sincerely.

Astrology Week of June 10th

Mars enters Taurus today, bringing a refocus on our work, love, animals, and living arrangements. Slow down, take stock of your life right now, get grounded, and spend time with nature. This is also a lovely romantic transit.

Venus, the planet of Love and Creativity, is still traveling close with the Sun and going through a transformation, emerging as the morning star in the next few weeks.

Mars is squaring Pluto over the next few days, which brings tests to our evolution and life path. Be present with anger, and avoid battles with others because they can escalate with this transit. Mars through Taurus continues with a sextile to Saturn in Pisces (July 10th), and a conjunction to Uranus (July 16th) and ends with sextile to Neptune on July 24th. In this month Saturn and Neptune are also stationing retrograde adding to the need for careful and well considered moves.
