This week the Moon is waxing (growing bigger). We had a New Moon in Cancer last week, which is the Moon’s natural home, and one of the most personal signs of the zodiac. Cancer symbolizes our deep, emotional, inner worlds – the parts we don’t let everyone see – along with our homes and security. The focus is on our personal circumstances, emotional needs and true feelings. The sign of Cancer is created from the primordial waters that gestate and nurture new life, and healing the inner child is paramount.

The New Moon last Tuesday is really powerful BECAUSE it’s so personal. This is our roots, where we come from, our relationships with our mothers, our genes, DNA, psychological traumas, etc. It’s our annual chance to start anew with healing ourselves and refreshing the foundation of our lives BASED on this self healing. When we do this healing, we’re able to let more love and friendship into our lives. More reality. We become happier and deeply fulfilled. It’s a really big deal. Also, look at where you’ve taken on the attitudes and opinions of people around you – sometimes without being aware of where the feelings are coming from.

Thursday, July 7th: Moon in Libra goes void at 6:00pm Pacific, then trines Saturn and squares Pluto. These aspects can bring an edge to yesterday’s developments. The best way through it, is to focus, concentrate, and work hard. Also take an objective view of your evolution and see if there’s a more efficient path.

Week of June 8th

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 18 Gemini
Mercury at 11 Cancer (weak)
Venus RETROGRADE at 11 Gemini (neutral)
Mars at 17 Pisces (weak)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 26 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 1 Aquarius (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 24 Capricorn
Neptune at 20 Pisces (rulership, strong)
North Node at 29 Gemini

Last Thursday’s Full Moon ECLIPSE in Sagittarius will continue unfolding this week, AND over the next six months. We are rebirthing ourselves, our lives, and hopefully our society, into a world that supports and values everyone. On a personal level, YOU are unique, and you have a precious, singular contribution to make to the world. Just be careful out there folks, we’re still in a pandemic.

The Sun square Mars from last Saturday is still effecting us for a couple of weeks. Don’t over-focus on what other people are doing, instead put energy into YOUR goals. Controlling other people, or criticizing their reactions to the state of the world, is a waste of time. Respect the paths of other people, even if they doesn’t make sense to you. The Sun (Soul and vision) squaring Mars (action and drive) can make us restless and cranky with perceived road blocks. There’s steps each of us need to take in order to move forward right now – usually involving Saturn (discipline and hard work).

Mars is activating and energizing the sign of Pisces right now – the sign of our collective unconscious. Venus is going through her retrograde cycle, which is commonly seen as her descent through the underworld. She will be reborn soon as the Morning Star. Issues, both personal and collective, that have been repressed and denied are coming up for air now and demanding to be acknowledged.

Speaking of squares, there’s another major one happening all year: Pluto at 24 Capricorn square ERIS at 24 Aries. This aspect is rare, chaotic, and will be with us for the whole year! These two planets are the furthest away from the Sun in our solar system, and represent regeneration. Pluto brings evolution through the healing of repressed, toxic energy, and Eris brings change through discord, for the forgotten and oppressed sides of our culture. I hope things will settle down in our country, but I doubt it with this aspect in play. The best way to utilize these energies, is to make sure your side of the street is clean, and your life is organized. Have you been projecting your problems onto others? Do you owe anyone an apology?

Monday, June 8th: Moon void-of-course all day, then into Aquarius at 5:54pm Pacific. Follow routines and planned activities. Moon will be contacting Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn (the Covid point), so stay out of social complications and arguments with other people.

Tuesday, June 9th: Moon in Aquarius. Let the genius in you come out and play! People will be friendly but unemotional, so work towards forward progress. Look for positive developments in society today, since Aquarius is the sign of humanity.

Wednesday, June 10th: Moon void-of-course in Aquarius ALL DAY. Day of continuity from yesterday’s developments. A void Moon always means to lay low and follow well-laid plans. Stay away from risks or negotiation, instead stabilize what’s in progress.

Thursday, June 11th: Moon in Pisces. Creative and peaceful day. Listen to music. Sun (Soul and vision) square Neptune (dreams) is exact in the early morning. There’s some action we need to take to see the path ahead. Neptune aspects often bring fogginess and a feeling of being lost. Don’t be discouraged by this, just be creative and focus on self care.

Friday, June 12th: Moon in Pisces. Keep listening to music and focusing on creativity.

Saturday, June 13th: Moon void, then into Aries at 2:03pm Pacific. We will be full of energy and ambition today, however, Mars conjunct Neptune is exact which can confuse our efforts. Get yourself grounded and centered before undertaking anything. Bring some compassion into your day.

Week of May 17th

Grand Schema Monks, Russian Orthodox Church, Balaam Monastery, Russisan Karelia 1888

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 27 Taurus
Mercury at 11 Gemini (rulership! Do Mercurial Magick now)
Venus RETROGRADE at 21 Gemini (neutral)
Mars at 3 Pisces (not great)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 27 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 1 Aquarius (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 24 Capricorn
Neptune at 20 Pisces (rulership, strong)
North Node at 29 Gemini

The Sun moves into Gemini (The Twins) this Wednesday in the early morning! Expect many more Zoom calls and online classes from people, since Gemini is the sign of communication and socializing. Mercury is fast in the skies right now, leading the Sun through it’s natural home of Gemini. We’re entering a phase of focusing the Mind and understanding what our thinking brings to our lives. Become present and mindful of your thoughts, because that is how you are creating your life experience. It’s hard to remain positive these days in the midst of so much challenge, but practicing mindfulness and being present can really help. Are you getting eight solid hours of sleep every night? Eating well and exercising? Reaching out to friends?

Many powerful planets are stationing (standing still), and moving into backwards motion (retrograde) right now. Two of them, Pluto and Saturn, spawned the pandemic, with their rare conjunction at 24 Capricorn in January. With these retrogrades, we will spend the summer going over ground we’ve already covered. On a personal level, this means going inwards to rediscover your true nature and purpose. Unfortunately, the economy might still be sluggish, so prepare for that possibility. For the next few months it’s about each of us reimagining and restructuring our lives. It’s good to focus on researching new possibilities for yourself right now.

Monday, May 18th: Moon in Aries. Starting the week off with lots of force and energy. Look out for head strong behavior. Don’t start something you can’t finish.

Tuesday, May 19th: Moon in Aries slowing down and entering Taurus at 7:10pm Pacific.

Wednesday, May 20th: Moon in Taurus. Sun enters Gemini in the early morning! We might all feel lighter now. It’s easy to get into the minutiae of things today, so aim for simplicity in your dealings with others. Negotiations, writing, mathematics, computer work are all highlighted today and this week! We learn from others. Share with your social circle and engage in fun activities. Great for online games too.

Thursday, May 21st: Moon in Taurus. Walk in nature, work in the garden and cook something scrumptious. Beware of overspending with online shopping.

Friday, May 22nd: New Moon in Gemini at 10:38am Pacific. This New Moon is exactly trine with Saturn in Aquarius, which accentuates the airiness of socializing and communication. However with Saturn things could have a serious note.

Saturday, May 23rd: Moon in Gemini. New Moon energy still prevalent. Socialize as best you can and let your ideas and creativity flow! Mercury conjuncts Venus which is a lovely aspect for meaningful conversations.

Week of May 11th

Sun in Gemini From Kitab al-Mawalid

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 20 Taurus
Mercury at 0 Gemini (rulership! Do Mercurial Magick now)
Venus at 21 Gemini (neutral)
Mars at 28 Aquarius (neutral)
Jupiter at 27 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 1 Aquarius (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 24 Capricorn
Neptune at 20 Pisces (rulership, strong)
North Node at 29 Gemini

This week sees the change from the earthy sign of Taurus, to the airy sign of Gemini. Our focus changes from the Spring flowers, green hillsides and self sufficiency of Taurus, to the chattiness of the Gemini mind. Mercury is fast in the skies right now, and entering it’s natural home of Gemini (rulership) today!

Also, two of the key planets involved at the “Covid point” of 24 Capricorn are going retrograde or backwards this week. This is the corner of the sky where the Saturn-Pluto conjunction happened on January 12th that spawned the huge transformations taking place on the planet right now. We will spend the next several months going over ground we’ve already covered, so be prepared for that spiritual processing. I think we could have a resurgence of virus cases over the summer, so take care of yourself!

Monday, May 11th: Moon in Capricorn connecting with Pluto and Jupiter at 24 Capricorn (the Covid 19 point). When the Moon arrives there each month, our emotions can come up strongly in the form of great fear and sadness. We open up and process how these changes are effecting our lives. Nurture yourself today and ride the waves of feelings. Positive change can be yours if you put in the hard work. Mercury into Gemini.

Tuesday, May 12: Moon in Aquarius. Mercury trines Moon AND Saturn today = serious and productive conversations. Also, Venus retrograde in Gemini near midnight. Venus will be twirling around in Gemini – backwards and then forwards – until August 7th. Look back to 2012 to see how this could effect you, your relationships and your money. Gemini is cerebral, so it will be a chatty summer, especially over the internet. Issues around partnerships of all kinds could arise, both positive and negative.

Wednesday, May 13th: Moon in Aquarius. Mars entered Pisces in the middle of the night, which adds to the confusion. We need to connect with our spiritual side and be a channel for Divine Will. What do you need to surrender to? What will you sacrifice to reach your highest goals?

Thursday, May 14th: Moon void-of-course all day, then entering Pisces conjuncting Mars in Pisces. Take a deep dive into your Soul. What do you need to do differently in order to connect with your true purpose? What is your evolutionary intention? Also Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn today.

Friday, May 15th: Moon in Pisces. Today is a respite from all of the crazy changes! Take time to enjoy life and focus on your blessings.

Saturday, May 16th – Moon in Aries. Black Moon Lilith conjunct Chiron in Aries, and squaring the “Covid point”. We want our power back from this loss of control we’re all feeling. The only way to really do this, is to withdraw and get quiet – meditate and contemplate your Soul’s desire for this lifetime.

Sunday, May 17th – Moon in Aries squaring 24 Pluto (Covid point). Pluto presides over this year, bringing endings, death, deep transformation and catharsis. With Aries (the Self) involved, we ask ourselves “who am I now? Who am I without the job? The money I’m used to? My relationship? Without the future I had planned??” The answers will come, and will lead each of us to a more deeply satisfying life. I really mean that! The first step is practicing mindfulness, and learning how to listen to your inner voice.

Week of June 3rd

kingf

New Moon in Gemini, Monday June 3rd.
Mercury into Cancer (weakened).
Mars at 11 Cancer (in it’s fall; no Mars Magick).
Venus at 25 Taurus (rulership; VERY strong).
Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto retrograde.

Face the Shadow. We’re still excavating our lives with the Saturn-conjunct-Pluto-both-retrograde aspect. It will be closely exact THIS month, and will continue to wind it’s way through the year ahead. Wherever this is landing in your chart, you are being profoundly shifted. Saturn is forcing you to face the reality of your life, and Pluto is bringing up our toxic energy on a personal and collective level. Pluto is forcing us to purge, purify and reform ourselves. Resisting these shifts will create big problems, so just relax and go with the flow. Pay attention to stuff that isn’t working for you anymore and if you can, make changes.

Monday: New Moon in Gemini at 3am Pacific. Makes our minds and communication zingy. Great day for negotiation, socializing, studying, playing games, birthing new ideas and using your mind in a new way. Venus in a trine with Pluto last night brings intensity to creative endeavors and sexy time.

Tuesday: Moon in Cancer. Mercury into Cancer at 1:03pm Pacific. Mercury isn’t happy in Cancer, so no Mercury Magick for awhile… unless you’re sidereal of course. Mercury wants to be zippy, but gets drenched in this highly sensitive, nurturing watery energy of Cancer. Creative thinking is enhanced however.

Wednesday: Moon in Cancer. Handle things around your home and personal life. You might want to stay home tonight, relax and eat comfort food. Feelings are hyper-sensitive today and tomorrow, so avoid arguments or complications.

Thursday: Moon in Leo. It’s a good day to seek acknowledgement and generosity from those in leadership positions. It’s a good night to go out and see any type live performance.

Friday: Moon in Leo. Go out and shine, and show your heart.

Saturday: Moon into Virgo. A day of organization and self care. Also, Venus enters Gemini near 6:30pm Pacific, bringing fresh delight to any social gatherings. Creative time for writers, thinkers, and artists. Self expression flows easily, and we gravitate towards like-minded people.

Dark of the Moon

19-19

Dark of the Moon.
New Moon in Gemini this Sunday, June 2nd.
Mercury at 10 Gemini (in it’s rulership! VERY strong).
Mars at 7 Cancer (in it’s fall; no Mars Magick).
Venus at 13 Taurus (rulership; VERY strong).
Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto retrograde.

We are in the last quarter of the Moon this week – a time of reflection and quiet. We have a few days to wrap up loose ends, get organized, finish things, pay debts and simply rest. I always equate the dark of the Moon with the hours before dawn; the hush over the land. It’s the time of Magick and vivid dreaming.

Mercury in Gemini is in his element. It’s an excellent time for Mercury Magick. Our minds are honed, and we can wield the sword of truth. Socializing, writing, studying and communication are highlighted for the next month. Commerce and negotiation are also able to move forward after being stuck since last Fall.

Venus in Taurus is another strong placement, and fortifies nature, beauty, style, art and the power of women. What do you love doing with your time, are you willing to commit to it and make it a permanent part of your life’s foundation? Let your heart guide you to a higher vision for yourself.

Mars in Cancer means the planet is in it’s “fall” – it’s energy and expression is severely limited. Actions (especially attacks) will lack teeth and will fizzle out. It’s challenging to make headway when Mars is in Cancer, so focus on nurturing yourself and your home instead. With the North Node in Cancer right now, vulnerability is highlighted. Express yourself respectfully. The actions of men are diminished with Mars in Cancer. Seek out nurturing. ❤

Saturn and Pluto retrograding and conjunct through Capricorn. We are in the midst of deep, cathartic changes within ourselves, and outwardly in our society. This change will be in motion for the next couple of years, and will send us in a more mature and sustainable direction. We all need to take the focus off of others, or our outward experiences, and commit to doing our inner work. And with the North Node in Cancer, this inner work needs to happen in a loving and nurturing way.

Pluto brings up power struggles, catharsis, research, healing and our toxic energy. With Pluto’s power we can heal our toxic wounds and regenerate ourselves like the Phoenix.
Saturn wants us to grow up and face our problems like adults. It rules responsibility, discipline, commitment, stability, karma, and hard work. Face your fears and do the work you’ve been putting off. If you do this, Saturn will support you and give you the strength you need to move forward in your life.

Saturn conjunct Pluto will be exact in January 2020. You have until then to figure out who you’d like to be in the new age that’s dawning.  Pluto is evolution, and Saturn is structure. The two of them are meeting in a specific corner of your chart, helping you rebirth yourself. Who would you like to be?

Week of February 4th

faces

Monday, Feb. 4th: New Moon in Aquarius at 1:04pm Pacific.

Currently:
Mercury and Lilith in Aquarius (strong)
Venus in Capricorn (diminished)
Mars in Aries, close to Uranus (strong)
Jupiter in Sagittarius (strong)
Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn (strong)
North Node in Cancer

Monday, Feb. 4: New Moon in Aquarius – new beginnings for the next month. We are refreshed! The goals you set today will come to fruition this August. Think about networking, the groups you are involved with, and the gains you’d like to make. Set goals around activating and expressing your personal form of genius. Everyone has something they can do REALLY well. Let your originality and unique nature shine.

Aquarius means: freedom, vision, independence, the FUTURE, eccentricity, social circle, original ideas, technology, the intellectual, the humanitarian, the big picture and the community. It is the sharpened mind in touch with higher frequencies.

Tuesday, Feb. 5: Lots of good, fresh energy can be accessed early on, but prepare for daydreams, intuitiveness and creativity as the Moon enters the watery dreaminess of Pisces at sunset. Good evening for spiritual or occult activities.

Wed. Feb 6: Float through dreams and visions today and let go of being overly productive. Stay cozy and spiritually connected. Try not to overindulge, or do it without the guilt 🙂 Negotiations could be hard to define, so do that tomorrow or Friday.

Thurs. Feb. 7: Moon square Jupiter today. Our minds are finding relief from the Pisces fog, as the Moon moves towards Aries. Jupiter helps you expand your habits towards reaching your goals. Focus today on where you’re headed, and put some energy towards it.

Friday, Feb. 8: Moon into Aries gives us some vitality! It’s on a direct intercept with Mars and Uranus though, which could lead to a combustible weekend. The Moon will be squaring Venus and Saturn in Capricorn today, giving everything the weight of REALITY. Not the best date night.

Saturday, Feb. 9: Moon trines Jupiter in Sagittarius today! We have a day of expansive moods and celebration. Might not get a lot done. This is a day for FUN.

Mercury entering Pisces until April 16th. This puts Mercury into its Fall – i.e. the sharpness of our minds is diminished, and we turn towards our imaginations. The next month is a time for visioning, self expression and creative writing. Careful not to go too far out into fantasy and delusion! Keep the ground under your feet.

Week of January 7th

cap1New Moon in Capricorn last Saturday.
Mercury in Capricorn (weakened).
Venus in Sagittarius (neutral).
Mars in Aries (strong).
Jupiter in Sagittarius (strong).
Saturn in Capricorn until March 2020 (rulership).
Uranus now Direct in Aries (strong).

The New Moon Eclipse last Saturday activated the South Node (the past). This represents personal gifts in our lives that we have already mastered. The North Node is our nature, or obvious personality, and where we have natural talent. With this New Moon, the corner of your chart containing Capricorn will be going through a change. A new door will open, influenced by the house placement and any aspects.

Saturn (reality) and Pluto (the soul’s evolution) in Capricorn are going to effect the South Node (the past) during the eclipses this year. Saturn, and Capricorn, are about mastery and responsibility. With the South Node there, we will be tested to see if we have truly mastered the lessons of our pasts, or we will be tested with the same old situations until we are done.
Where do you want to be by the time Saturn leaves Capricorn?

Mercury isn’t thrilled with being in Capricorn. Mercury wants to be zing-y, but Capricorn is cautious and sure-footed. Communication is slowing down for a few weeks.

Mars has gone into his rulership in Aries (finally!! Yay!!), after months of going backwards and slogging through Pisces. Our plans are now in direct, confident motion. This happened on New Year’s Day too, so the fresh, new Mars energy is invigorating 2019 in general 🙂

MONDAY, January 7th: Moon in Aquarius. Focus is on groups, humanitarian ideals and teamwork. Uranus is still stationing (standing still) in Aries, so there could be unexpected events or revelations coming from left field. Listen for new ideas and revelations from your inner voice.
Uranus stationary direct in late Aries can bring unexpected shocks, liberating surprises, fresh vision and new ways to utilize technology. Independence, spontaneity and a break from routine are common themes. Where can you bring more freedom into your life? Do something different.
Venus enters Sagittarius during Monday’s pre-dawn hours, bringing faith, luck, truth and exploration to the arena of Love. We immediately feel more optimistic, sociable and generous in the areas of art and romance.

TUESDAY, January 8th: Moon in Aquarius. Mercury squares Mars at 2:00am, but influences the day. Stay away from confronting, debating or negotiating with anyone today. It’s a good day for writing or getting organized though.

WEDNESDAY, January 9th: Pisces Moon. Daydream and fantasize today. Facts will slip through your fingers. Today we survive using our intuition. Seek solitude, quiet, healing and music.

THURSDAY, Jan. 10th: Pisces Moon. Quiet day. Meditate, daydream, create visions and art.

FRIDAY, Jan. 11th: Moon void-of-course in Pisces all day. Don’t commit to or sign anything. A day of relaxation. Sun conjunct Pluto helps you update your life vision. The will to power or to defend against it can quickly turn violent. Avoid arguments. Sexual preoccupation and obsession is possible, as is suspicion and paranoia. Fun can be had by exploring the psyche sexually and otherwise for catharsis. What stands in your way right now? What outdated attitudes and perspectives can you release?

SATURDAY, Jan. 12th: Moon in Aries (meeting up with Mars). You’ll probably feel a lot of energy, drive and excitement today! Make good use of it, but avoid headstrong behavior.

Full Moon Eclipse in Aquarius

19875474_1909817122633047_7647839705032297020_n

Extremely rare atmospheric phenomenon called rainbow bridge or circumhorizontal arc: when the sun is at least 58º above horizon and ice crystals in clouds form rainbows.

Friday, 1:20pm Pacific: Full Moon Eclipse in Aquarius.

To make the right decisions today, focus on your commitments to friends, groups and plans for the future.  Taking action is a bit trickier though, since the planet of ambition, Mars, is currently going backwards (retrograde ) through Aquarius. In fact Mars, the full Moon Eclipse, and the South Node (the past) are all sitting together at the same point in Aquarius today.

Don’t start anything new or take any risks this weekend. Put your energy towards wrapping up past projects that have been bugging you for awhile. When the South Node is present, it’s the best time to release relationships you’ve outgrown, clean your house, get organized, and finish things. This weekend is great for clearing energy with smudging and bells, doing chores, putting things where they belong, and tackling dusty projects. Nurture yourself with good food and rest.

Sun in Leo (in it’s rulership), is the only celestial body in the right place right now – so connect with healing, leadership, and where your heart is leading you.
Mercury now retrograde in Leo (but currently standing still over our heads.
Venus in Virgo (in her Fall – not happy).

The fires exploding all over California are going to gain in intensity, so be careful driving out there. Look out for big egos, excessive speed, angry drivers. Uranus is squaring the Full Moon, which can cause sudden, unexpected events. The opportunity for creative breakthroughs and revelations about your life could be impactful and life changing.

Winter Solstice 2017

Osman Taner Küçükgenç

“Lucid Dream” by Osman Taner Küçükgenç

Saturn into Capricorn: Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 7:49pm Pacific.
Sun into Capricorn: Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7:28am Pacific.
Mercury Direct in Sagittarius: Friday, Dec. 22 at 5:51pm.
Venus into Capricorn: Sunday, Dec. 24th at 9:26pm

Happy Winter Solstice!! Tonight is the longest night of the year. Tomorrow the Sun is reborn and the days start to grow longer. It’s a good night to clarify priorities for next year, feast with friends and jump over bonfires.

Saturn moving into Capricorn on Tuesday is the big news. We have wrapped up two years of defining, committing to and crystalizing our truth and philosophy in the sign of Sagittarius. I personally began a new path of deep, spiritual study, but this can manifest in your life differently. What’s been going on with the foundation of your life over the last couple of years?

Now Saturn moves into Capricorn, which is the sign of it’s rulership. This means the energies of the planet are free to fully express themselves and manifest their core qualities. Saturn is energetically heavy; it rules responsibility, maturity, your boss, foundation, structure, teeth and bone, wisdom, reality, time, your dad, achievement, your knees, career… and of course marijuana. Wherever you have Capricorn in your chart is the House where you will feel the strongest effects. If you’d like to schedule a 15 minute phone reading with me, you can do that here.

Meanwhile, here’s what Austin Coppock wrote earlier this week:

“Thus Saturn’s entrance into Capricorn in December of 2017 begins a period which is, quite literally, a gamechanger. The changes which take place during the next 5 years are naturally divided into two steps — the Capricorn portion coincides with the destruction of the old rules, the Aquarius portion with the design of the new.

Saturn and Capricorn
Before going further into the various themes which Saturn’s time in Capricorn entails, it behooves us to consider the nature of both Capricorn and Saturn.

Saturn is the slowest and furthest planet visible to the naked eye. It takes approximately 29.5 years to do one circuit of the zodiac. Just as Saturn is the limit of the visible solar system, Saturn is concerned with boundaries and borders. A wall both encloses and excludes, separating one space from another and limiting interaction between the two. There is thus a strong architectural element to Saturn which extends to all constructed systems, including human hierarchies and institutions. Saturn’s position in a natal chart yields information about how well a person does with structure, as well as how they react to, and wield, authority.

Being so slow, Saturn is also more concerned with time than the other planets. Saturn highlights the way it changes things, and separates the enduring from the fleeting. For living beings, time always leads to death, another fundamental Saturn theme. Relationships with the past and the dead are thus well within the Saturnian sphere. Saturn’s slow progression also illustrates the laws of cause and effect — how actions, over time, create reality.

Saturn is the Greater Malefic in astrology, as it brings deprivation, fear, excessive cold, brittle-ness, depression, confinement and exclusion. Yet Saturn also teaches the virtues of patience, discipline, endurance and duty, and shows us how to maintain glacial calm in even the worst conditions.

Capricorn
Capricorn, represented by the Goat, or Sea-Goat, is an Earth sign, meaning that it is primarily concerned with the concrete layers of reality. Earth signs prefer facts to speculations, a bird in hand over two in the bush.

Capricorn is of the Cardinal mode, linking it to initiation and creation — the beginning phase of story-arcs. It is thus the sign where the Earth is reshaped in accord with intention. Mud becomes brick, and bricks become houses. The wet clay, patterned with intention, becomes sculpture. Capricorn’s essential dynamic is thus the imposition of pattern onto substance in conformity with will.

This projection of design onto the materia of the real is in perfect accord with Saturn’s architectural intentions. It is thus no surprise that Capricorn is considered to be ruled by the leaden planet. For here, Saturn expresses himself in an unmitigated, text-book manner, especially as concerns the planet’s heavier and more manifest significations. In Capricorn, Saturn wears no disguise, but presents himself in an archetypal fashion. He is Father Time, the Grim Reaper, the Grand Architect, and the Old Teacher.
And Pluto, Too!

One of the more important factors to consider when differentiating this installment of Saturn in Capricorn from previous instances, is Pluto. Pluto will be in Capricorn the entire time that Saturn is. The two have one exact conjunction, scheduled for January 12th, 2020. Even though they are only precisely aligned on that one day, their copresence will shape the entirety of Saturn’s time in the Goat pasture.

Pluto will serve to further complicate and intensify already potent Saturnian themes. Their copresence emphasizes what has gotten lost in the underworld and needs to be rescued. Contrarily, it also points to badly aging patterns which desperately need to be read their last rites. Saturn and Pluto’s time together also specifically targets the United States, as this is Pluto’s return to the same place it was when the US was founded. Though fascinating, this particular point is beyond the scope of an already sizable article, and best dealt with in a space all its own. Look for that down the line.”
