We begin this week with a fallow, 4th quarter Moon. We are wrapping things up, finishing projects and adjusting to new conditions. This is the last week of the Sun traveling through Libra, and with the Sun and Venus squaring Pluto, we are facing the toxic sides of our relationships. There’s a New Moon ECLIPSE in Scorpio coming next Tuesday, October 25th as well. All of this happening while Saturn, Mars and Pluto stand still in the sky.

We are building up to the Full Moon at 17 Aries on Sunday. This week starts off quietly, but things will build up to the Full Moon. Also, Mercury went Direct today! Give it a week or two until the planet picks up strong forward motion. Mercury is still in a trine with Mars, and now that the Sun and Venus have moved into Libra, there’s a lot of “Airy” energy flying around. Good time to clear the air with important people, or negotiate new agreements.
Saturn is now squaring Uranus, which could bring up issues (and resolutions) from 2021. This is the LAST of several squares between these two planetary heavyweights. This square has exacerbated the battle between traditional and progressive elements in our country, so watch for more developments coming this month.
Wednesday, October 5th: Moon in Aquarius goes void-of-course at 3:46pm Pacific. The Moon also trines Mars in Gemini, giving us an energetic, sociable boost. Also a conjunction with Saturn, which can lead to a heavy, pessimistic mood. It will pass. Wherever Aquarius falls in your chart is your personal future, so there might be glimpses of it today.

We begin this week with a balsamic, fallow Moon, building towards a New Moon in Libra on Sunday, September 25th. Leading up to this New Moon, we have an opportunity to release our relationship blocks – especially romantic ones. It’s a good time to get clear on what you’re looking for in your love life. Venus, the planet of Love, is in her fall right now which means she is unable to express her true nature. It makes everyone, particularly women, less trusting and more critical than usual. The dark of the Moon, leading up to a New Moon in Libra, is a time for self examination about what you are projecting onto the people around you. Also, we are wrapping things up, finishing projects and adjusting to new conditions.
Everyone is going through some growth challenges right now. On Thursday, September 22nd the Sun enters Libra and we have the Fall Equinox! It’s such a relief after this brutal Summer. The Fall Equinox is a portal to our inner selves AND one of the most magical times of the year. This week is a major turning point, and if things have been feeling stagnant, you will see shifts happening.
Wednesday, September 21st: Moon in Leo on the last day of Summer is kind of perfect. The Sun’s influence is waning, and we are heading into the darkness. Moon opposes Saturn making us acutely aware of the passage of time. Don’t get pessimistic or slip off to the dark side. Get some last rays of sunshine and exercise. Moon squaring Uranus can be eye opening. Leo Moon brings style. Time to dress up with some glitz and glam.
Thursday, September 22nd: Moon void-of-course in Leo ALL DAY! Look out for egos, tempers and stubbornness. Anything can happen during a void period, and this is a long one! We are building up to the Full Moon at 17 Pisces on Saturday. This week is calmer then things have been, but the Full Moon will still have some intensity for us. Also, Mercury goes retrograde this Friday, September 9th, which means the winged messenger is “stationing” or standing still all week – AND trining Mars at the same time. Misunderstandings or odd conversations can happen. Mercury retrograde is for going back over things you’ve done and examining their accessibility or completion. There will be six planets in retrograde for September, so we are looking back on this year, our lives, and our progress.
Sunday, Venus left passionate, fiery Leo for the earthy, manicured lands of Virgo. Venus in Virgo is more grounded, and relates to the Queen of Pentacles in the Tarot. She’s also The Hermit: an experienced, middle-aged Priestess who has deep wisdom about life. This Venus is practical and has no trouble assessing relationships in a neutral way to see if they are working. She can be a little too critical and oriented towards perfection. With relationships and the creation of art, let yourself be meticulous, discriminating and oriented towards the journey rather than the destination. Mars in Gemini wants to LEARN. We are driven towards information, socializing, and learning. Its curiosity, networking, designing, commerce, business, and negotiations. Friday, September 9th: Moon in Pisces all day opposes Venus in Virgo, which can be tough for date night. Women could be more critical or fussy. If you’re going out tonight, make a solid plan and stick to it. Moon in Pisces is great for movies and entertainment. An opposition means you have to put some work into progressing. Also today, Mercury goes retrograde at 8:38pm Pacific, and will continue moving backwards until Oct 1st. This is not a reason to freak out. Just drive cautiously, and try not to buy any big ticket items until October. If you must work towards something, start small with easily attainable goals. Allow time to reflect on your life.

This is the last days with the Sun in its natural home of Leo. The Sun moves through the last degrees of Leo, and into Virgo next Monday, August 22nd. The Sun moves through the last degrees of Cancer this week, and we wrap up our deep emotional reflections from the past month. It’s the 4th quarter of the Moon, the “darkest” time of the lunar month. We rest and wrap things up in preparation for the rebirth of the New Moon in Leo next Thursday, July 28th. If you go out at sunset this week, you will see the moon’s light diminish until she completely disappears into the fires of the Sun. Don’t over schedule yourself or work too hard. Take some afternoon naps like Leo the Lion. Focus on finishing things – next week is the time to start new projects or habits.
This Friday, the Sun moves into its natural home of LEO! For the next month the focus turns to creative play. Leo is a time to celebrate what it means to be alive. It represents self expression, hosting parties, and making your art. Leo wants to shine its light outwardly and share it.
Venus has entered sensitive Cancer today (Sunday), bringing a need for emotional connection and sensitivity in relationships and art. This week the Moon is waxing (growing bigger). We had a New Moon in Cancer last week, which is the Moon’s natural home, and one of the most personal signs of the zodiac. Cancer symbolizes our deep, emotional, inner worlds – the parts we don’t let everyone see – along with our homes and security. The focus is on our personal circumstances, emotional needs and true feelings. The sign of Cancer is created from the primordial waters that gestate and nurture new life, and healing the inner child is paramount.
The New Moon last Tuesday is really powerful BECAUSE it’s so personal. This is our roots, where we come from, our relationships with our mothers, our genes, DNA, psychological traumas, etc. It’s our annual chance to start anew with healing ourselves and refreshing the foundation of our lives BASED on this self healing. When we do this healing, we’re able to let more love and friendship into our lives. More reality. We become happier and deeply fulfilled. It’s a really big deal. Also, look at where you’ve taken on the attitudes and opinions of people around you – sometimes without being aware of where the feelings are coming from.
Thursday, July 7th: Moon in Libra goes void at 6:00pm Pacific, then trines Saturn and squares Pluto. These aspects can bring an edge to yesterday’s developments. The best way through it, is to focus, concentrate, and work hard. Also take an objective view of your evolution and see if there’s a more efficient path.

Friday’s New Moon at 11 Aries continues to unfold this week, as Mars makes an exact conjunction with Saturn at 23 Aquarius (improvement, liberation, the future). What are you driven towards? This aspect focuses our Will, self-control and discipline. It’s not enough to have big ideas and ambitions, Saturn makes you work hard for them. With this conjunction we are open to direction from authority figures, and we follow the tried-and-true path. This increases our chances for success! There are limits on pushing TOO hard though – you need to play by Saturn’s rules.
Also, this Mars-Saturn conjunction is exactly square the Moon’s nodes. Something will come up this week that is non-negotiable. There’s something you MUST DO, in order to proceed in life towards the North Node in Taurus (unconditional self-love, abundance, prosperity, self-sufficiency). This is where each of us is headed right now. We will see a major change in the next couple of weeks, both with this aspect, and next week with the exact conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune.
The Aries New Moon last Friday was conjunct Mercury and Chiron. It was a new beginning for the year ahead, but also the start of a new phase of healing our deepest wounds. We can find this healing through reading, talking, writing, listening, therapy or any form of self-expression. Once we reach a new understanding, it is important to feel the pain and grieve. Owning the hurt feelings is the way to deep peace.
Monday, April 4th: Moon in Taurus is exalted, especially on a Monday. Normally it would be great for Moon Magick, but today we also have Mars conjunct Saturn. Keep a low profile and focus on your inner work. There’s some wonderful progress that can be made, but these planets are both malefics, so there is a threat of anger and violence.
Tuesday, April 5th: Moon in Gemini brings sociability and negotiation. This is a fast-moving day, and there will be lots of developments. Venus moves into Pisces at 8:18am Pacific, which is the sign of her exaltation or greatest expression. Taureans and Librans are going to have a great couple of months. Venus in Pisces is inspiring, creative, dreamy, imaginative, and romantic. Don’t get lost in lustful fantasies, no matter how enticing. This is a wonderful placement for all artists.
Wednesday, April 6th: Moon in Gemini makes five different aspects today – positive trines with Mars, Saturn and Venus, while squaring Jupiter and Neptune. There could be harmony and great communication in relationships today, but the squares bring general confusion. No big decisions today, focus on mindfulness and getting grounded.
Thursday, April 7th: Moon in Cancer makes a lovely trine with Venus newly in Pisces. It’s a romantic and sentimental day. Also, Mercury sextile Saturn is exact, which brings grounded communications. We choose our words carefully and communicate what’s really on our minds. Great day for studying and applying yourself to anything mentally challenging. If you get overwhelmed, take some deep breaths and meditate.
Friday, April 8th: Moon in Cancer has you staying home and nesting. Be gentle… Easy Does It. Creativity, nostalgia, food, and emotional release are good uses of this energy. Today Mercury sextile Mars is exact, which supercharges our minds from yesterday’s shifts. There will be more good news and development about our ideas.
Saturday, April 9th: Moon in Cancer goes void-of-course at 6pm. Stay home tonight. Avoid difficult conversations because sensitivities are high. The Moon is opposite Pluto today (while Pluto squares Mercury) so there could be a new understanding, OR tension and control issues.
Sunday, April 10th: Moon in Leo brings us back to our center, to our reason for being. In the evening, Mercury enters Taurus – where he’s not all that happy. The lightning-fast Messenger doesn’t like the slow pace of the Bull. Also, Mercury square Pluto is exact which is rough because our Mind faces the Dark Side. Good day for shadow work i.e. examining self-sabotage, toxic patterns, fears, and control issues. Repressed thoughts and desires could rise to the surface. Last Wednesday’s New Moon at 12 Pisces continues to unfold, and this week two giants of the sky join the Piscean party – the Sun and Jupiter. These planets are the greatest benefics in astrology, and each brings joy, luck, money and expansion in their own right. In a conjunction, like we have this week, they initiate a rebirth. This weekend they joined up in their annual conjunction, bringing forth a new era for each of us.
We are still reeling from last week though, and we could use some positive energy. Mars, Venus and Pluto were conjunct last Thursday at 27 Capricorn, starting us on a new descent into the underworld. This is a challenging conjunction. Mars has been volatile the past few months, and we are witnessing the horrific results with Putin’s unprovoked attack on Ukraine.
Mars and Venus just entered Aquarius together this weekend, starting a new, two-year cycle. I’m hoping the focus will change from conquest to humanitarian pursuits. Most of the planets are traveling through new territory. Everything is resetting itself and starting new cycles. There’s a lot of energy up in the air, and many of us are feeling lost and confused. One good way to work through this, is to keep a consistent spiritual practice. If you do something every morning, it will help you make sense of the changes in the world, and in your own psyche. Pisces is a time of endings, surrender, and union with the divine.

Wednesday, March9th: Moon in Gemini all day as his ruler, Mercury, enters Pisces. Mercury is in his “fall” here, which means he is extraordinarily unhappy. Mercury, representing our minds, is unable to focus or move with any speed while moving through Pisces. Lots of confusing currents today, so ride the waves. Moon squares Jupiter in Pisces too, which adds to the confusion.
Thursday, March 10th: Moon is void-of-course in Gemini ALL DAY!! Don’t do anything of any importance. Follow plans that are pre-arranged and drive carefully. Despite the void moon it will be a chatty day with lots of activity. With Mercury in Pisces, important decisions could be difficult to formulate. Practice mindfulness.
