Singles Awareness

When The Rain Comes In Silence by Burçin Esin

As a follow up to my post on relationships, here’s a great quote for single people:

“There’s so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad over someone who doesn’t. There’s a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn’t need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself up with love. Not anyone else. Become a whole being on your own. Go on adventures, fall asleep in the woods with friends, wander around the city at night, sit in a coffee shop on your own, write on bathroom stalls, leave notes in library books, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot.

Do all things with love, but don’t romanticize life like you can’t survive without it. Live for yourself and be happy on your own. It isn’t any less beautiful, I promise.”

Happy Love Day

vibe

Happy Valentine’s Day! I love to celebrate love because it truly is the reason we are all here. It’s the most beautiful part of being human! Well, that and melted cheese, but anyway….

The majority of my readings are relationship readings, and I want to share a few things I’ve learned throughout my career.

  1. The future is unknown. If you “let go and let god”, you will be amazed at what the Universe brings to your life. I’ve seen it happen over and over again. Literally ANYTHING can happen, and I believe the Universe wants us to fulfill ourselves. I’ve seen people find happiness while being single; people that feel hopeless about finding love, sure that they will “die alone”, end up in exciting, committed relationships. I’ve seen relationships come back from breakups and recommit; I’ve seen people thrilled with “the chase” and the rush of new relationships learn to love themselves and the unfolding of love.
  2. Love is in your ACTIONS, not your words.
  3. You have to be in reality. It’s easy to get swept up in romantic fantasies, but in the end they keep you from being present with the person you’re getting to know. The person you meet in the first three months of a relationship is not the real person. People are shy and it takes time to trust each other. Be patient and get to know people. This will keep you from getting hurt most of the time. I heard once it takes three years to really know someone.
  4. Speak your TRUTH. What is your truth? What’s really going on with you and your partner, and are you holding back on communicating something you need to get off your chest? If your partner can’t receive your truth, and shuts down communication all the time, you might have grown past the person. True love is when both partners want the relationship to work and want to respect each others’ feelings, needs, desires and goals.
  5. Respect other peoples’ TRUTH. Listen to what your partner says and respect what’s important to them. Really Listen. What are the other person’s needs, feelings and goals? Then honestly look and see if you’re in alignment with each other.
  6. Be aware of when you’re projecting your past hurts onto others. I think relationships are little incubators for us to heal our past traumas. Not everyone is capable of doing this, and that’s OK, but your stuff WILL come up!
  7. Don’t date someone’s potential. It’s hard to remember that when you’re in the throes of infatuation, or if you’re a highly intuitive person. What is the person doing NOW in the present? Because that’s what you got 🙂
  8. BE Yourself. It’s OK if you’re not perfect.
  9. Take responsibility for your own happiness. You can’t fix someone, and no one can fix you. Each person has to save themselves. Relationships work best when two people, each whole unto themselves, come together to share their lives. Expecting someone to make up for your deficiency just doesn’t work.
  10. Trust your instincts. Your gut will tell if you if someone is right for you or not.
  11. Practice gratitude and validation everyday! This helps us focus on what’s working, rather than focusing on problems.

I LOVE this guy too:

Have a great day everybody!

Rare Aspects

The Path, by Reginald W. Machell

“The Path” by Reginald W. Machell

There’s a rare and powerful aspect happening tonight that will impact the week ahead. The Sun, Venus and Pluto arrive at the same degree of 19 Capricorn. This could be a cathartic event for each of us, depending on where the conjunction falls in your natal chart and the aspects it makes with other planets.

The Sun is your soul’s signature and vision in this lifetime, and brings huge focus and importance to where it falls in your chart AND to where it transits. It’s the giant star that our solar system depends on – the greatest light of all. In conjunction with Venus, it stirs the passions of love and art. Although Venus isn’t completely “happy” in the sign of the goat, the Sun’s presence brings warmth, healing and abundance to relationships or careers that have become stale or stuck. Venus is love and money, and the Sun is fire and healing. ❤

But across the solar system, far out in the hinterlands, sits Pluto. Despite being millions of light years away, it lines up perfectly with the Sun and Venus creating a huge conjunction across our personal star path. Pluto is a dark planet (yes it’s a planet dammit), and symbolizes deep transformation, catharsis, toxic emotions, unhealthy patterns and buried treasure. Pluto (with Venus) brings up our deepest, hidden blocks so we can sacrifice them in the fire of the Sun. We dig through the disappointments of last year and clear them, so we can unearth the real gold buried deep within. What a wonderful to start the year and set the energy of 2018.

From Austin Coppock:

“The other significant configuration which occurs during this span of days is the conjunction of Mars and Jupiter in Scorpio. This is a fierce and triumphant conjunction, the proper mindset of conquerors and the seed of great victories. It brings optimism and relentlessness, and while it shines you will have the capacity to envision victories you are normally too modest to dream.

Take the regalia of the conqueror from Mars and Jupiter, and the clarified passion of the Venus-Sun conjunction, for they are exactly what you need to build the year before you. Do not rush to commit to half-ass, guilty resolutions. Clarify your passion and stoke your courage, for they are exactly what you will need to build the year you desire.
Give the skies time to offer you these boons. Spend the days of this decan receiving these empowerments and constructing your blueprint. Do not start building before the design is complete- give yourself at least until the New Moon later in the month to break ground. 2018 will not be kind to hastily laid plans. It will test even good ones, but has rewards of satisfaction and accomplishment waiting for those who can bring together passion, courage and patience.”

New Moon in Scorpio

barneywitch

November 18: New Moon in Scorpio at 3:42am Pacific.
November 21: Sun into Sagittarius.
November 22: Neptune Direct in Pisces.
December 1: Venus into Sagittarius.
December 3: Mercury Retrograde from 29º to 13º Sagittarius.

Today is the New Moon in Scorpio and we arrive at the high point of Autumn – a time of regeneration and transformation for all of us. This new moon has the added spice of Jupiter in Scorpio, bringing good luck and prosperity to the “Scorpio corner” of your chart. If you’ve had your chart done before, find the House that begins in Scorpio. Look at your 8th House too. These are the areas of your life that will be expanded over the next year. If you need help figuring it out, shoot me an email 🙂

Scorpio is the area of your life where you want to go DEEP. You find your passion there, and are compelled to thoroughly investigate the matters ruled by that House. If you look at the last four weeks, back to mid October, you’ll get some insight on the area of your life that needs regeneration and change. Scorpio rules money, sex, the occult, healing and death. There’s a focus on getting our financial lives in order, looking for health insurance, wrapping up loose ends and preparing for 2018. Situations around sexuality, dating, relationships, commitment have come up, along with reproductive issues. And there’s the Scorpio witchiness of Halloween.

All of this is slightly complicated by Scorpio’s ruler, Mars, traveling through the sign of Libra, where it’s debilitated (not happy).

Mars in Libra is analogous to a warrior in full armor sitting in the middle of a tea party or a fancy dress soiree. He’s completely out of place there, feels awkward, frustrated, and can’t wait to leave. Mars in Libra has to slow down and focus on balancing the warrior’s grand designs with the desires of other people. He’d much rather charge ahead on his own. Along with the transformative quality of November, there’s a focus on relationships, and how to balance our goals with the needs of others. Mars will move into Scorpio on December 9th, and our ambitions will start moving forward again.

Also, look out for Mars in Libra squaring Pluto in Capricorn tomorrow (Sunday). Avoid bad neighborhoods, arguing with people, bad food and frustrating social situations. Doing something physical like cleaning the house, going for a hike or helping someone in need is the best way to channel this transit!

New Moon in Libra

14753291_1523648177651037_3362023874517964643_o

New Moon in Libra: 12:12pm Pacific on Thursday, Oct. 19th, 2017.
Libra is ruled by the planet Venus, which is currently in the Libra constellation. This is very auspicious for relationships.

Libra = balancing, union of opposites, relationships, entertaining, harmony, negotiations, Art and manners.

However, Venus square to Pluto, and in opposition to Uranus, makes the Love Vibe more about evolution and sudden events.

Pluto can bring up buried emotions and old, toxic issues to be healed and released. Uranus can spark revelations and anger out of nowhere.

If you’re angry or irritated with your partner, try and cool off before discussing anything. Focus on creating win-win situations in your personal AND professional life. If an area of your life is out of balance, give it some acknowledgement and attention. Most folks over-give to their friends and family, depleting themselves in the process. Some TLC for yourself is always a good idea.

The influence of Pluto and Uranus exposes issues or attitudes that need to shift. In my experience, it’s a good idea to not act rashly, but give yourself some time to process before taking action. Easy does it.

And then on top of that, we have Mercury and Jupiter in a conjunction in Scorpio – which happens once in 12 years. This aspect carries a lovely element of rebirth in our ideas concerning faith and truth. In the sign of Scorpio we want to talk about deep subjects, heal our emotional lives and explore hidden wisdom. If you’re an initiate or walking a spiritual path, this could begin a period of deep exploration on yourself and your thought processes.

Keep your social life light over the weekend! ❤

“What Science Really Says About Negative Emotions.

Pretending unwelcome feelings don’t exist isn’t helping. Here’s what to do instead:

by Shelby Lorman.

Source.

Ever been told to smile when you’re feeling down? While there’s science to support the idea that forced positivity can temporarily boost your mood, convincing yourself that you’re always happy may do you more harm than good, according to an insightful piece on Quartz by Lila MacLellan. Research suggests suppressing your less-than-pleasant feelings can harm your psychological well-being, and that accepting them is a better option.
Acceptance isn’t about making peace with your negative emotions: the “magic of acceptance is in its blunting effect on emotional reactions to stressful events,” Brett Ford, a psychology professor at the University of Toronto, told MacLellan. Ford added that over time, acceptance of negative emotions can lead to “positive psychological health, including higher levels of life satisfaction.”
How and why this happens isn’t exactly clear. But Ford’s recently published research (in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology) offers some insights. The research is from a few years ago, when Ford was a doctoral student at the University of California, Berkeley. She and a few other Berkeley researchers designed a three-part experiment in hopes of learning more about the link between acceptance and psychological well-being. The participants were from various socioeconomic backgrounds and races, and included people who had dealt with major and minor negative experiences (think the difference between losing a job and losing track of your keys).
Ford and her fellow researchers found that people who were more accepting of negative emotions (MacLellan calls them “habitual acceptors”) like anger or anxiety had reduced feelings of ill-being, something backed up by previous research, and were more likely to have better well-being. MacLellan notes that “accepting dark emotions like anxiety or rage won’t bring you down or amplify the emotional experience. Nor will it make you ‘happy’—at least not directly.” Instead, acceptance is linked to overall “better mental health when it’s used in response to negative emotions, not positive ones,” MacLellan writes.
Ford hopes her research can improve future mental health treatments, which “currently rely on some approaches that fail people,” she told MacLellan. “When something happens and you try to reframe it like, ‘Oh it’s not such a big deal.’ or ‘I’m going to learn and grow from that,’ it doesn’t necessarily work,” Ford said.
Bad experiences are inevitable. But if we only let in the positive emotions, we’re less equipped to deal with the rollercoaster ride that is just part and parcel of being alive. “People die in our lives, we lose them, if we have only been accustomed to being allowed to have more positive thoughts, then these realities can strike us even more intensely when they happen—and they will happen,” according to Svend Brinkmann, a psychology professor at Denmark’s Aalborg University quoted in the piece.
Part of the challenge of acceptance is that it runs counter to our culture’s expectation to be happy all of the time. We’re living in a “cultural age that’s decidedly pro-positivity,” MacLellan writes, which makes the “pressure to suppress or camouflage negative feelings” all the more pronounced. In the West (especially in the U.S.) “happiness and positivity are seen as virtues,” MacLellan notes. Ford told her that “some companies want their customers and employees to be delighted all the time. That’s unreasonable, and when we’re faced with unreasonable expectations, it’s natural for us to start applying judgement to the negative mental experiences we have.”
This probably isn’t helped by the fact that social media today is awash in well-curated and filtered frames of positivity. While a quick mood boost might feel great, continually suppressing our own negative emotions in favor of feel-good things only sets us up for a “striving state of mind,” according to Ford, which is paradoxical to finding peace and acceptance.
The good news is that acceptance can be learned. You can start by thinking of “your emotions as passing clouds, visible but not a part of you,” MacLellan suggests. Next time you experience a negative emotion or feel pressured to smile when you’re really not feeling it, remember that, as Ford explains, “acceptance involves not trying to change how we are feeling, but staying in touch with your feelings and taking them for what they are.”

Astro Report for mid October

angels

The Full Moon in Aries last Thursday is now behind us, and it was one of the more challenging moons we’ve faced in a long time. Uranus (sudden changes) on the Full Moon, squaring Mars (aggression) and Venus (relationships) created a tense and chaotic atmosphere in many areas of our lives. I’m sure many of us are feeling exhausted and bewildered from the sudden events. Last week illuminated our compatibilities and differences, as well as the road  to creating an authentic harmony.

This week starts with more tension with Mercury and the Sun squaring Pluto. Avoid conflicts and social squabbles and instead focus on regeneration and what’s most important. These are the best ways to use Pluto’s cathartic energy! This planet brings up toxic thoughts from under the surface that need to be purged and healed. You can help the process by focusing on your goals. Remain peaceful and avoid angry situations or people.

Jupiter moves from Libra to Scorpio on Tuesday. This planet expands all it touches, and the energy shifts from relationships and art to sex, power struggles and the unearthing of secrets. Much more on this later! Let changes unfold instead of forcing solutions.

As always, try to keep the focus on improving your own life conditions rather than imposing your will on others. Practicing gratitude, getting a good night’s sleep, having some good food or a chat with a trusted friend are the best things for us in October.

Astro Weather

Happy Labor Day everyone! Good news, we are starting September off right with two planets resuming forward motion 🙂

Mars and Mercury are doing an odd dance right now. Mercury (in Retrograde) is barreling towards Mars (Direct) in the last degrees of Leo. Remember the eclipse a couple weeks ago?

The American eclipse on August 21st occurred at 28 degrees Leo. Mars will be ON that degree tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 2nd! This transit inspires us to put our eclipse insights into motion and TAKE ACTION! We also have a Mars/Uranus trine (positive aspect) tomorrow! Expect the unexpected… revelations abound and the desire to be free and independent will reach a fever pitch.

Next week, Mars and Mercury will “cross” each other in the night sky causing a moving conjunction AT 29 degrees Leo. If that wasn’t enough (and it really is), Mercury is going Direct on Tuesday (Sept. 5th) at… you guessed it… 28 degrees Leo!!

Mercury (mind and communication) will be united with Mars (action and vitality) and you can finally move mountains in the right direction. Creativity, assertiveness and expression will be easy to access. This is an amazing event, and really beautiful. Astrology never ceases to amaze me.

Saturn turned Direct at 21 Sagittarius on Friday, August 25th at five in the morning. It’s the planet of responsibility, discipline and reality and can feel HEAVY. When Saturn is retrograde, things appear less stable in our personal lives and society at large. Thankfully we are now moving Direct, and issues will begin to get back on course. If you haven’t made progress on a project or goal, there’s steady movement now. Saturn in Sagittarius asks us to recommit to our Truth, Beliefs and Goals, and have discipline in our day to day activities.

The August 21st eclipse will be rolling out and affecting us for the next six months. Since it occurred in Leo, so we can look for a rebirth or change regarding our self expression, status, and identity. Art, clothes, music, leadership and public speaking are highlighted. Did you get any insights on your life?

Everyone will be impacted by August’s eclipse in different ways. If you’re interested in how it will affect you, set up a reading with me 🙂 I can give you a huge snapshot of your life story in a 15 minute phone reading.
