Today is the Summer Solstice! The high point of light for all of 2021! Happy Solstice to you and yours. This is such a magical day – and it’s the climax of the year. From here on the days will get shorter.
There are many changes ahead making this a wild astrological week. First, there is a heavy influence of the element “water”, since many planets are interacting in water signs. The Moon is in Scorpio right now, the Sun just went into Cancer today, and is now forming a trine with Jupiter over in Pisces, AND Jupiter and Neptune are both stationing retrograde this week in the sign of Pisces! When planets are stationary retrograde, their influences are extremely strong and influential. All three water signs are currently being activated, which brings up healing, emotions and intuitive messages.
Both Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces soften hard edges and boundaries, bring up inner truths, and reconnect us with our Soul. This morning, June 20, Jupiter began its retrograde through Pisces and Aquarius. The king is turning around to retrace his steps through his ocean kingdoms. Watch for overindulgencees. The positive side of this transit, is that it encourages messages of inner healing, peaceful resistance, communal spirit, and compassion in our world. For the next week or so, Jupiter will be standing still in the sky at 2 Pisces, so if you have any planets in the early degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, they are getting a powerful boost of luck and expansion.
Venus trines Neptune right after the Sun enters Cancer tomorrow, June 21, giving the Summer Solstice a dreamy, loving vibe. Mercury turns direct in Gemini this Wednesday the 23rd! The Capricorn Full Moon arrives this Thursday, June 24, and Venus enters Leo on June 27! This is truly an eventful week, and each day brings some new, major shift.
Monday, June 21st: Moon in Scorpio and Venus trine Neptune. Imagination is strengthened. This aspect is inspiring for artists, and will be with us all week! You can really make some breakthroughs in the areas of love and art. Enjoy water activities. Hang out by a pool. The Scorpio Moon can bring out the truth, but also make people sensitive, so think before you speak.
Tuesday, June 22nd: Moon in Sagittarius and Mercury Direct in Gemini. We leave rumination behind as our thoughts turn forwards again. All of our illusions about the people in our lives, as well as the stories we tell ourselves, are being purged in order to make way for a new path.Adventures pop up everywhere and our energy rises, especially with Moon trine Mars. Enjoy the optimistic mood as enter the orb of the Full Moon on Thursday. Creative exploration.
Wednesday, June 23rd: Moon in Sagittarius, Sun trine Jupiter AND Venus opposes Pluto. The Sun/Jupiter trine brings a wonderful bounty of opportunity, FUN, and luck! The thing is, Venus opposing Pluto at the same time brings intensity to the mix. We have the chance to deeply connect in our relationships. Get out and mix with people today. Possibilities abound for fun, creativity, progress and connection.
Thursday, June 24th: Full Moon rises at 3 Capricorn, which is a hard place for the Moon. She is in her detriment in Capricorn, which celebrates “getting ahead” more than vulnerabilities. People become cautious, stubborn and distrustful during a Capricorn Moon, and it’s hard to get concessions from authority figures. We can simplify and organize, but the undercurrent of the joyful aspects are still present. We are currently harvesting what we began in January, when the Sun was in Capricorn. The energies of this Full Moon will unfold over the week ahead as well as the next six months. We will have peak experiences with our ambitions, career, and personal story.
Friday, June 25th: Moon in Capricorn and Neptune stations retrograde. We’re still in the influence of yesterday’s full moon, but with Neptune standing still the intuitive side of things comes to the forefront. It’s a spacy swim through aethers and different dimensions – perfect for artists and lovers. Go to the beach.
Saturday, June 26th: Moon in Aquarius on a Saturday is great for saturnian Magick, i.e. discipline, structure and focus. Moon makes a powerful conjunction with Pluto, adding intensity to the day, and Venus opposes the Moon, bringing up settlements (hopefully good ones!) in relationships.
Sunday, June 27th: Moon in Aquarius goes void at noon for the whole rest of the day! Venus also moves into Leo in the middle of the night. Follow predetermined plans, but have fun today! Venus is happy in Leo, and loves to explore creativity, fashion and performance.

Here comes official Summer! Next Sunday, June 20th, the Sun enters Cancer heralding the Summer Solstice. This day is the maximum influence of the Sun, the longest day of the year, and the high point of Light for all of 2021. After this event, the days grow shorter and we move towards Fall.
This week the Moon is waxing (growing bigger) each day and the Sun moves through the last degrees of Gemini. We had a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini last Thursday, which brought up our need to organize our thoughts, talk, write, play, socialize and travel. In the last half of June, the focus turns to our homes, personal circumstances, emotional needs and family vacations.
The big aspect this week is tomorrow – Saturn in Aquarius square to Uranus in Taurus. This is a major, disruptive aspect, both for society at large AND for our personal lives. It’s unpredictable, and often brings revolution. It’s the second exact square of three in 2021, and signifies the struggle between the “old guard”, and a new way of doing things. Like it or not, outdated institutions and methods are being released into the past, and a new world is in the process of being born. This year is a turning point for society’s culture clock. The radical, young, tech oriented, diverse and progressive elements in our society are becoming our new leaders. Anyone holding onto outdated ways of doing things is in for a BIG shake up.
Jupiter (optimism, luck, wealth) hangs over this week. The planet of Luck is stopped in the sky and turns retrograde next Sunday the 23rd. Throwing caution to the winds, and following every fancy and overindulgence can look particularly tempting right now. I say, if you want to go for it. It will effect each of us differently, depending on where Jupiter is sitting in your specific chart. If you want a short reading on it, you can book me here. Jupiter expands everything it touches, an brings up themes of faith, travel, education, and foreign lands. Instead of overindulgence, let your inspirations guide you.
Monday, June 14th: Moon in Leo, and Saturn square Uranus. Moon in Leo makes us expressive, playful and creative, but the square between Saturn and Uranus is a big, tense event, and it will last for a couple of weeks. 2021 turns the page and ushers in a new world. In your personal life, what old ways are you releasing, and who are you becoming in this new paradigm?
Tuesday, June 15th: Moon in Leo, going void around 10:30am, then into Virgo at 8:00pm Pacific. During the long void period, follow plans that have already been agreed upon. Virgo Moon brings the focus to order, health and discipline. Remember, moderation is the key! Watch out for self criticism or self doubt, and just do what you can within reason.
Wednesday, June 16th: Moon in Virgo opposes Jupiter and trines Uranus. Watch for surprises in the evening! The opposition with Jupiter means there’s some emotional stuff to figure out before you’re ready to move forward with a project or person. In general, there’s no need to force your views about what’s right or how to behave. Be gentle with yourself, your body, and others.
Thursday, June 17th: Moon in Virgo makes five different aspects today, so it’s about riding the waves. I focus on creativity during these times, regrouping and self nurturing. Square to Mercury, opposition to Neptune and trine to Pluto means to practice being in the present moment, and saying what you really mean.
Friday, June 18th: Moon in Libra on a Friday? Talk about the perfect date night, this is it! If you’re vaccinated, go out and mix with like-minded people. Art, women, creativity, parties, love – all are enhanced today. I think Venus in Cancer is suitable for planetary magick too, so engage in Venus rituals today.
Saturday, June 19th: Moon in Libra makes another flurry of aspects; trines Saturn and Mercury and squares Venus. The focus on balance continues, but tension between the Moon and Venus can dampen the sexy mood. This square between our emotions and relationships can bring insecurity, and an inability to sort out the truth. Just wait until things become more clear. Try not to create stories in your head about your relationships, instead rely on facts.
Sunday, June 20th: Moon in Scorpio, Jupiter retrograde (8:06am) and Sun into Cancer at 8:32pm Pacific. SUMMER SOLSTICE. With the Moon in Scorpio it’s a witchy day. Celebrate the solstice with friends and loved ones, and nourish deep connections. If a boundary needs to be set, today is the day. Moon has some lovely trines with the Sun and Jupiter today. HAVE FUN!!!

Eliphas Levi, the occult author of the mid-1800’s, published many seminal works that became the cornerstones of early western mysticism. He illuminates the ancient roots of magical thought and tradition in a myriad of ways, but what I stumbled upon today is his presentation of the qualities of the seven traditional planets.
I refer to these attributes constantly in my work as an astrologer and Qabalistic jeweler. My usual source is Aleister Crowley’s 777, but Levi’s comments on the planets predate Crowley’s by many decades, and I want to share them here with you. What I found most exciting, is that each of the seven sins and seven virtues are related to a planet!! Here’s the seven traditional planets list from Eliphas Levi’s book, Transcendental Magick:

Neptune at 23 Pisces (rulership, strong)

We begin this week with a balsamic, fallow Moon, building towards a New Moon Eclipse at 19 Gemini on Thursday. Leading up to this Moon, we have an opportunity to release things that no longer fit into our new way of being. We are in eclipse season, which occurs every six months in a specific sign. It always carries a theme, and since these eclipses are on the Gemini-Sagittarius axis this year, the theme is to let go of old ways of being in order to make way for the fresh and new. These eclipses give us a reality check, and a chance to take personal inventory. They show the neglected, shadow sides of our lives, and point us towards what needs attention.
This weekend we had a cardinal T-square which will be with us for several more days. Pluto in Capricorn opposed Mars in Cancer, and the Aries Moon squared the opposition. This aspect can raise passions and bring up discussions with loved ones about feelings, hopes and fears. If we’re stuck in power struggles with someone, it will become plainly obvious this week.
The undercurrents are the retrogrades of Saturn and Pluto, and the upcoming square of Saturn and Uranus next week. This could add to the tensions between Pluto and Mars, and highlight feelings of no progress. If you’ve been feeling lost in the face of world events, or that you’ve been backsliding, things aren’t moving fast enough, or just irrational fears, it could all be exacerbated by these retrogrades. Saturn and Pluto can bring up helplessness, karma, issues with time, sacrifice and depletion, but it’s always darkest before a new dawn, and we will be receiving a grand, new beginning this week. Sagittarius tells us to have faith.
Monday, June 7th: Moon in Taurus, and Moon conjuncts Uranus. The Moon is exalted here, and it’s also a Monday, so it’s the PERFECT day for Moon Magick. If you want to bring in more creativity or psychic attunement, today is the day for a ritual. Moon bumping into Uranus can bring out your genius as well. Taurus is the sign of sensuality, luxury, indulgence. It’s also a good day for working with animals.
Tuesday, June 8th: Moon into Gemini at 11:47am Pacific. Moon trines Pluto today, along with some lovely sextiles. The Moon is in it’s balsamic phase, preparing for the New Moon coming… Moon square Jupiter in the evening could bring some tensions between our mind and spirit.
Wednesday, June 9th: Moon in Gemini trines Saturn in the afternoon which can bring heavy conversations, based in reality. We have no problem working hard on projects that require mental effort. We are in the sphere of the New Moon in Gemini occurring tomorrow too. The Moon conjuncts the North Node today, so watch for flashes of the future.
Thursday, June 10th: New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini in the pre-dawn hours – 3:53am Pacific. There’s a whole slew of aspects too; planetary energies are unified in a lovely, supportive way for this New Moon. The Sun also conjuncts Mercury, which is great for writers and poets. We are drawn to sociability, sharing and TALKING.
Friday, June 11th: Moon Cancer and Mars into Leo! Yay! Mars loves being in a fire sign, and he activates the heart while in Leo. After wandering through uncertain, insecure and emotional Cancer, Mars (and men in general) will be feeling feisty and confident. Support the performing arts.
Saturday, June 12th: Moon in Cancer conjuncts Venus, giving the start of the day a loving, artistic flavor. The Moon interacts with Saturn later on though, and emotions can get heavier. This is a day of healing, rest, reflection and food. With the sensitive Cancer Moon, choose your words wisely. Also today, Venus squares Chiron in Aries, which can give creative people firey inspiration.
Sunday, June 13th: Moon into Leo runs straight into Mars, and suddenly everyone has an opinion or wants to rule the roost. Posturing aside, Venus and the Moon make several lovely aspects with Neptune, Uranus and Saturn, bringing more artistic energy to the day. Channel frustrations into art.

Dark of the Moon begins on Wednesday this week, so just take it easy and rest. This is a week of wrapping things up and finishing projects, so we can prepare for the rebirth of the New Moon. The Moon is waning until Thursday, June 10th, when we have a New Moon in Gemini.
The Sun in Gemini brings our attention to our social circle, Mars in Cancer directs our attention to our homes and personal world, and Venus moving into Cancer delights in the home, family, and nostagia. Since it’s a waning Moon this week, your energies are best used for purging old belongings, wrapping up loose ends, paying off debts and clearing the clutter. Update your life and make room for the wonderful energies flowing towards you.
Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, just went retrograde on Saturday. For the next three weeks we will go back over already covered ground. We are reveiwing our thinking, close relationships, and intellectual adventures. Along with this, we are in eclipse season. There was a Full Moon eclipse in Sagittarius last week, and next week, June 10th, brings us a New Moon solar eclipse. It’s a powerful time of change.
Monday, May 31st: Moon in Aquarius, and Mars trine Neptune in the middle of the night. This is a great combination of energies to start off the week. The Aquarian influence makes us focused, friendly, but also resolute. The Mars trine Neptune aspect stirs up our intuition and creativity, allowing us to go full tilt into self expression, and communication with higher forces.
Tuesday, June 1st: Moon in Pisces conjuncts Neptune. Another fluffy Neptune day. It’s all gut instincts today, so practice trusting them. Everything cheers up in the evening with the Moon conjunct Jupiter. Your horizons are expanded!
Wednesday, June 2nd: Moon in Pisces, and Venus into Cancer in the early morning. This combination brings out emotions, music and creativity. Embrace solitude. Take time for yourself and focus on your spiritual practice. Moon sextile Uranus in the afternoon could bring some surprises.
Thursday, June 3rd: Moon in Aries and seven mostly positive aspects, all leading up to Venus trine Jupiter at 4:33pm Pacific. This is the highlight of the week! Such a beautiful aspect. Neptune is a higher vibration of Venus, and the two combining in a lovely trine brings a positive expansion to all of our relationships, deep, spiritual connections with other people, and transformative creativity. If you want to channel the divine into your art, you will be able to mainline heaven today. Moon trine Mars today can make us industrious.
Friday, June 4th: Moon in Aries. The Moon makes two lovely sextiles today with Saturn and the Sun, bringing alignment to our work and inner drives.
Saturday, June 5th: Moon in Aries, going void-of-course at 3:47pm for the rest of the day. Watch out for headstrong behavior and avoid risk-taking. There’s tension today with three squares, and the explosive Pluto opposing Mars. Yikes. Watch out for angry people. If you’re in a disagreement with someone, try to stall until next week to resolve issues.
Sunday, June 6th: Moon in Taurus forms two lovely sextiles – one with Jupiter and one with Venus. This is a continuation of the wonderful, loving, artistic vibes of Thursday, except with the Moon in Taurus (exalted), we look for ways to tangibly manifest our inspirations from the last week. With Moon in Taurus, get out into nature.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and—in spite of True Romance magazines—we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely—at least, not all the time—but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don’t see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.” ~Hunter Thompson

It’s a week of examining our beliefs and inner truths. The Full Moon rises on Wednesday with an ECLIPSE at 5 Sagittarius. The Full Moon eclipse in Sagittarius sheds light on the inner truths we depend on. It’s a time of reconnecting with your Soul, and updating the story of your life – as well as your inner voice. Sagittarius is optimistic, and wants to explore, expand, philosophize, and tell the truth.
We are currently harvesting what we began last December, when the Sun was in Sagittarius. The energies of this Eclipse will unfold over the week ahead as well as the next six months. We will have peak experiences with our belief systems, ambitions, life perspective and personal story. There’s a strong urge to have a better life. Our relationship with ourself is mirrored in our relationships with other people, so be aware if you’re projecting authority, criticism or appreciation outside of yourself. Remember, finding peace and fullfilment is an inside job. Practice some self validation.
Saturn is standing still in the sky for a couple weeks, going stationary retrograde today. This make things appear less stable then they actually are, and brings worries about our security. Resist those fears, and focus on restructuring your life instead. With Pluto and Saturn basically standing still in the sky, we can experience a big reality check right now. A new path might open up in your life that feels unavoidable… changes that feel forced upon you. If this is the case, do your research, consult with friends, and go with the flow. Everything will turn out fine. Use the energy for healing and restructuring instead.
Saturn has been in the 13th degree of Aquarius since April 18. It will finally leave that degree on June 18th. Meanwhile Pluto, which usually moves about a degree a month, has been stuck at 23 Capricorn since Feb 28, and will be there until June 29. For some there will be a feeling that nothing is moving forward, that progress has become impossible. The sense of time dragging out, or running out, may afflict us. But this is also a rare opportunity for healing, for learning, for meditation, and for building strong foundations for the future.
Monday, May 24th: Moon in Scorpio. Avoid socially awkward situations because the truth will be spoken. Let go of “do or die” mentality. Watch for power struggles and set boundaries where needed. Today is a day of soul searching.
Tuesday, May 25th: Moon void in Scorpio at 2:20pm, then into Sagittarius at 7:39pm Pacific. The mood lightens dramatically, although there is an intensity since we are in the orb of the eclipse tomorrow. Follow previously agreed upon plans during a void moon. It’s also a great time for creative exploration.
Wednesday, May 26th: Full Moon in Sagittarius at 4:14pm Pacific. It’s an adventurous moon! Get outside and try something outside your comfort zone. Revisit your goals and update your plan to achieve them. Past lessons and/or flashes of the future could appear with the Moon conjunct the South Node, so watch for markers and insights.
Thursday, May 27th: Moon void in Sagittarius at 10:35am, then into Capricorn at 7:23pm. This is a very long void period! Venus square Neptune today as well. Brings dreamy, romantic and artistic inspiration, but also the tendency towards overindulgence. Practice moderation in general his week, and try to remain aware of delusion.
Friday, May 28th: Moon into Capricorn at 9:15am Pacific. Mercury conjunct Venus today, which helps us vocalize our desires and feelings. Negotiations and diplomacy are highlighted, along with communication, creative work, and romance. The Moon in Capricorn (Binah) helps bring a new understanding.
Saturday, May 29th: Moon void-of-course in Capricorn at 3:15pm, then into Aquarius at 9:00pm Pacific. Moon in Capricorn and Aquarius on a Saturday is great for saturnian Magick, i.e. discipline, structure and committment. Moon makes a couple of trines today with Uranus and the Sun in Taurus, which can bring pleasant surprises. Mercury also turns retrograde today, which brings the usual delays. Mercury’s station brings a long duration to Mercury square Neptune – now influencing us until June 16th! All of our illusions about the people in our lives, as well as the stories we tell ourselves, are being purged in order to make way for a new path.
Sunday, May 30th: Moon in Aquarius. There’s some lovely aspects today involving Venus, Mercury and Pluto. They will enhance communications and creativity, so enjoy the great vibe. Our minds and feelings will clarify our direction. With Saturn in the mix we can have real heart to heart communications with loved ones. Have a deep conversation. Get to the core of what matters most to you now.
