A Full Moon at the end of Leo often represents a life full of happiness and joy. Leo, ruled by the Sun, follows his heart and connects with creativity. It’s a joyous time, and the perfect night to see electrifying musical or artistic performances. However this Full Moon is exactly opposite Saturn, which means we also need to be hard-working and sincere with our work. Saturn maintains a strict discipline, including cleanliness and neatness. You will never find clutter on his table. 

Some ancient peoples say that being outside with an eclipse is not a good thing. This is because Ketu – symbolizing the past – will be moving across the Moon. It’s the shadowy tail of the cosmic dragon, and it brings up past uncertainties, the unseen, and ancient karmas. If we are ready, it gives us the power to face our past and make fundamental changes, releasing the dead weight of grievances and empty attachments. This eclipse is a portal, showing us how to release regret and heartbreak.

Tonight, this eclipse falls in a section of the Vedic sky called “Uttara Phalguni”. It’s symbolized by a bed, and represents relaxation, comfort, and rejuvenation. Mindfully use this eclipse to remove blocks to prosperity, friendship and noble virtue.

Also, Mercury is going retrograde at 14 Pisces tomorrow (Friday)!

Venus went retrograde last weekend. We are slowing down and looking backwards to old relationship patterns over the next month. Her retrograde cycle is actually an ancient process of transformation. Venus sinks in the evening sky, disappears in the Sun, then rises as the morning star a few week later. She comes down to earth to re-evaluate things. The Venus retrograde cycle comes once every 18 months, and manifests a powerful cycle of death and rebirth. We shed old ideals and think about what works for us in the present. We confront hard truths about love, money, and creativity.  When Venus rises as the Morning Star on April 12th, a new clarity regarding commitment and self-worth will also rise.

VENUS turned Direct in Leo this week, just as JUPITER turns backwards in the other direction. Both are stationing over our heads for the next 10 days or so. September is a bundle of retrogrades and cross currents. If you look below, almost every single planet is going backwards, with the exception of MARS, however this fiery planet is miserable in the sign of Libra (in his detriment).

The vibe this month is introspection – turning our focus inwards and checking in with our instincts. Retrograde planets have us rethinking everything, traveling over old ground, revisiting old choices and decisions, perhaps worrying, feeling helpless, and unable to get over things we need to release. Full Moon at 7 Pisces on Wednesday, August 30th at 6:36pm Pacific. This Full Moon is conjunct retrograde Saturn, so there is a sense of heaviness and responsibility to issues that are coming up now… and with seven planets in retrograde we are walking back through territory we have already passed through. The past is coming up and giving us a new understanding of our evolution.

We are building up to the Full Moon at 17 Pisces on Saturday. This week is calmer then things have been, but the Full Moon will still have some intensity for us. Also, Mercury goes retrograde this Friday, September 9th, which means the winged messenger is “stationing” or standing still all week – AND trining Mars at the same time. Misunderstandings or odd conversations can happen. Mercury retrograde is for going back over things you’ve done and examining their accessibility or completion. There will be six planets in retrograde for September, so we are looking back on this year, our lives, and our progress.

Sunday, Venus left passionate, fiery Leo for the earthy, manicured lands of Virgo. Venus in Virgo is more grounded, and relates to the Queen of Pentacles in the Tarot. She’s also The Hermit: an experienced, middle-aged Priestess who has deep wisdom about life. This Venus is practical and has no trouble assessing relationships in a neutral way to see if they are working. She can be a little too critical and oriented towards perfection. With relationships and the creation of art, let yourself be meticulous, discriminating and oriented towards the journey rather than the destination. Virgo is an earth sign, so eating well, being courteous, and keeping a clean house can lead to progress,

Mars in Gemini wants to LEARN. We are driven towards information, socializing, and learning. Its curiosity, networking, designing, commerce, business, and negotiations. There’s a lot of opportunity here – and it’s a good time to get a lot done on many different levels. We can engineer and perfect things, share our thoughts with other people and plan things out.

Friday, September 9th: Moon in Pisces all day opposes Venus in Virgo, which can be tough for date night. Women could be more critical or fussy. If you’re going out tonight, make a solid plan and stick to it. Moon in Pisces is great for movies and entertainment. An opposition means you have to put some work into progressing. Also today, Mercury goes retrograde at 8:38pm Pacific, and will continue moving backwards until Oct 1st. This is not a reason to freak out. Just drive cautiously, and try not to buy any big ticket items until October. If you must work towards something, start small with easily attainable goals. Allow time to reflect on your life.

The Sun moved into Virgo on Monday, heralding the beginning of harvest season! The transition from Leo to Virgo is profound. With the Sun in Leo, we reveled in our true identity, and practiced new ways of expressing it to the world; now with Virgo we organize our lives and get to work.

Moon wise, we are in the last quarter of the Moon’s cycle, preparing for the New Moon in Virgo this Saturday the 27th. The week ahead is about wrapping things up, resolving issues, paying debts, and reflecting on our lives.

Mars entered Gemini on Saturday for the next seven months! That’s March 2023! In Gemini, Mars lets go of his armor and becomes a social butterfly, focusing on communication, solving puzzles and battles of strategy. People with anxiety might need extra support during this time, because Mars adds electricity to our nervous system. A good place to focus your attention for the next seven months is on freedom and liberation. Where do you need to set yourself free? Let yourself off the hook? Have some FUN and adventures? This transit is spectacular for studying a new subject, or applying your mind to solve any type of challenge.

Thursday, August 25th: Moon in Leo, and Mercury moves into Libra, the great balancer. Relationships of all kinds will be blessed this month with real understanding and progress between people. Mercury in Libra makes us aware of all sides of a situation, especially the viewpoints of others. The key is balance. Also today, we are in the darkest phase of the monthly moon cycle, preparing for rebirth this Saturday with the New Moon in Virgo. Lots of old feelings and issues could be coming up so we can release them.

This is the last days with the Sun in its natural home of Leo. The Sun moves through the last degrees of Leo, and into Virgo next Monday, August 22nd. The Full Moon last Thursday will continue to unfold this week. A portal has opened, giving you the possibility of a new life. The portal opened in your mind, your relationships, your work, and in everything you do. Last Thursday’s Full Moon at 17 Aquarius was incredibly powerful. If you have ANY planets near 17 Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo or Taurus – you FELT it, and the changes will be stronger.

Wednesday, August 17th: Moon in Taurus. Don’t try and negotiate with authority figures today, let them win the argument. Also, things slow waaaay down with the Moon in Taurus, and we indulge in sensual delights. Get yourself an excellent dinner because Taurus loves food. Mercury is SO HAPPY in Virgo right now, so today is fabulous for Air Magick of any kind. Set necessary limits and get to work.

Thursday, August 18th: Moon in Taurus: enjoy nature, and avoid reasoning with stubborn people. Venus in Leo trines Jupiter in Aries at 1:03 am which boosts the power of women. This aspect brings childlike play, creativity and self expression. We lead from the heart and forge a path ahead! Merge with the sensual side of Taurus, and indulge yourself in romance, food, or nature.

We made it through the powerful Mars/Uranus/North Node conjunction last week. Now this same conjunction will be affected by the Full Moon. On Thursday, the Full Moon joins Saturn at 20 Aquarius, and squares the Mars/Uranus/Nodes conjunction. This is a really intense couple of weeks because the Universe is insisting we let go of the past, so we can move on to a new path in life. This week’s Full Moon in Aquarius dramatically activates our commitment to our new life too, because we have to face obstacles and limitations.

Along with activating a new life path, the Full Moon in Aquarius brings peak experiences to our social circle, inherent gifts, and progress. The Mars/Uranus/North Node conjunction is happening in Taurus, which gives us a new set of values. What are your priorities, and where do you really want to go?

Thursday, August 11th: Full Moon in Aquarius at 6:36pm Pacific as the Sun in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus, and Venus enters Leo! It’s a crazy day and ANYTHING can happen. Venus loves being in Leo – the sign that corresponds to the heart. Let yourself shine as bright as the Moon. With Aquarius, the call to be free is strong; expect the unexpected. Still, with the Full Moon conjunct Saturn, we need to show up for our commitments and responsibilities. There’s a lot of energy flying around today, so just try and be present and focus on what you have control over.

Climb a high peak and watch the Sun set and the Moon rise at the same time. This is a powerful, revolutionary Full Moon, and it’s the brightest of the year. The nature of Aquarius, independence, genius, science, courage, revolution, will be at their highest within each of us.

Monday and Tuesday we had the exact conjunction of Mars, the North Node of the Moon, AND Uranus, which symbolizes a HUGE breakthrough. This hasn’t happened in at least 84 years, and will create a pivotal moment for each of us. Its about birthing your IDEAL SELF: who you want to be, who you think you are – the BEST version of yourself. Uranus is visionary, the North Node is our future, and Mars gives us drive and ambition. This is happening in the sign of Taurus, which is self sufficient, independent, grounded, fertile, sensuous, and luxurious. Expect a new vision of life ahead that creates stability and awakens the senses.

Some astrologers are worried this could mean Uranus causing drama and issues regarding the supply chain, land ownership, crops, cattle, and money.
