New Moon at 11° Taurus. The Moon is “exalted” in Taurus, which means it expresses itself easily. This gives a calm, sensuous and indulgent feel to last weekend. The Sun in an earth sign brings up the issue of what we’re committing ourselves to, and if we need to update our agreements.

Venus will be approaching Saturn this week, arriving exactly conjunct on Saturday, January 18th. This aspect is powerful, and will bring a seriousness to our relationships and creative projects. It will encourage us to get organized, disciplined and responsible with regards to art, music, groups and socializing. It could also support the folks in LA to begin the path of rebuilding their lives into a structure where they can flourish. Saturn rules houses, plans, structure, stability and focus. This weekend is ideal for organizing, working on projects, and running errands around town. We are moving towards a Mercury square to Neptune on Sunday, which can bring either deception, or creativity.
Mercury and Neptune are opposites, Mercury being analytical and scientific, while Neptune governs the space between worlds, dreams or other spiritual dimensions. Try to blend the two with art, music, creativity and writing. Also meditation, inner reflection and the inner search for truth and meaning in our lives. There was a New Moon in Virgo on Saturday which continues to unfold this week. We are inspired to clean up our lives and get everything in order. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the winged messenger of thought and communication. With the Sun in Virgo, our minds are at their peak and we can be decisive. Venus in Leo opposed Saturn in Aquarius on Sunday, and the energy of this aspect continues all week. We are experiencing a wonderful astrological portrait right now. The planet Venus (Love) is exalted and moving Direct in her happiest place – Pisces. On top of that it’s Beltane, the high point of Spring! We are still in the orb of the New Moon Eclipse in Taurus yesterday (the sign of Love, commitment and Spring), and there were several lovely conjunctions between the most romantic benefics in the sky – Jupiter, Venus and Neptune. It’s a great week to make progress in Art, Love, design, pleasure, and appreciation of beauty.
