New Moon in Taurus

New Moon at 11° Taurus. The Moon is “exalted” in Taurus, which means it expresses itself easily. This gives a calm, sensuous and indulgent feel to last weekend. The Sun in an earth sign brings up the issue of what we’re committing ourselves to, and if we need to update our agreements.

A new moon occurs every month when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign. It’s the beginning of a 30-day lunar cycle, and it’s when you set your intentions for the coming month. As the Moon grows, your intention grows in form and scope; coming to fruition at the full Moon two weeks later. Forming an intention is instinctual, since the Moon is black and there’s no illumination of the night sky. The Sun (the light) is also hidden, so we must ‘feel” our way, since we cannot see clearly.

The BIG change however, is that Rahu and Ketu have just entered new signs for the coming 18 months and are hovering at 0 degrees. This creates instability and uncertainty. Uranus is currently in Taurus, and it will shake up and change wherever Taurus sits in your chart. It’s probably an area that has started feeling stagnant; a corner of your life that needs some fresh air. Uranus brings liberation, and a new way of expressing the genius within you. This corner of your life will radically transform in the next seven years.

Venus will be approaching Saturn this week, arriving exactly conjunct on Saturday, January 18th. This aspect is powerful, and will bring a seriousness to our relationships and creative projects. It will encourage us to get organized, disciplined and responsible with regards to art, music, groups and socializing. It could also support the folks in LA to begin the path of rebuilding their lives into a structure where they can flourish. Saturn rules houses, plans, structure, stability and focus. Venus also rules women, and the conjunction with Saturn can bring up worries and pessimism about relationships. Saturn demands that boundaries be respected and that communications are authentic. People need loyalty and space with this aspect. If you need to have a heart to heart with someone, speak carefully, with restraint and respect.

Uranus is stationing over our heads for several weeks, bringing many changes in direction for each of us. Uranus liberates from limiting ideas and relationships – he sets us free. It symbolizes our souls, and their EXPRESSION, along with a feeling of togetherness.

Friday, June 23rd: Virgo Moon all weekend. ORGANIZE yourself!

This weekend is ideal for organizing, working on projects, and running errands around town. We are moving towards a Mercury square to Neptune on Sunday, which can bring either deception, or creativity.

Mercury and Neptune are opposites, Mercury being analytical and scientific, while Neptune governs the space between worlds, dreams or other spiritual dimensions. Try to blend the two with art, music, creativity and writing. Also meditation, inner reflection and the inner search for truth and meaning in our lives.
Also, we are coming up to the first-quarter moon on Tuesday. It’s a time when something demands our attention or we get better clarity about what this lunar month is about.

There was a New Moon in Virgo on Saturday which continues to unfold this week. We are inspired to clean up our lives and get everything in order. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the winged messenger of thought and communication. With the Sun in Virgo, our minds are at their peak and we can be decisive. The decisions you make now determine your future path. It’s always lucky to start a week in the darkness of a New Moon, and the promise of a new beginning.

Venus in Leo opposed Saturn in Aquarius on Sunday, and the energy of this aspect continues all week. It means an enormous amount of creative energy could be held back or limited by the expectations of other people. Don’t feel discouraged or negative, just be in the present. Saturn encourages us to be patient with our ideas, and give them time to grow. Practice and simplification are the two things to focus on this week.

Virgo is the High Priestess of Reality, and asks us to take care of our physical body. What can you do to support your health and be stronger? Virgo wants to analyze, discriminate and assimilate; it’s the sign of health, work, and being of service. We need to take care of ourselves and each other.

Friday, September 2nd: Moon void-of-course in Scorpio, enters Sagittarius at 3:39pm Pacific. The mood will lighten throughout the day, and tonight is all about having fun. This is a great night for parties or to see a show.

Saturday, September 3rd: Moon in Sagittarius – its a day of adventure. Try something you’ve never done before, or visit a new place. Moon sextiles Saturn, so you can make some progress with challenging work or getting chores done. Sagittarian moon wants to play around and explore, so carve out time for adventures.

Sunday, September 4th: Moon in Sagittarius. Also, Venus enters Virgo around 9pm Pacific, which means Venus is officially weakened (in her Fall) for the month of September. This could be a challenging time for women, relationships and art creation. Be present with yourself and stop any self critical, perfectionist thoughts as soon as they show up. On the good side, Venus in Virgo will enhance the Sun’s influence here, increasing our interest in organizing, editing, exercising, studying and writing.

This aspect is about coming home to our physical body… coming home to a sense of comfort. Taurus is about becoming self sufficient.

Wednesday, June 22nd: Moon in Aries and Venus into Gemini. This is an energetic combination that adds fuel to the fire of yesterday’s rebirth. This week the Moon is waxing (growing bigger) each day, building up to a Full Moon in Sagittarius next Tuesday, June 14th. The Sun moves through the last degrees of Gemini, entering Cancer on the SUMMER SOLSTICE, Tuesday, June 21st.

Saturn (discipline, responsibility) hangs over this week. The planet of Karma is stopped in the sky since turning retrograde yesterday, June 4th. This brings added gravity to the week ahead. This planet grinds us down, turns us into something useful, and makes us take care of things we’ve been avoiding. Between now and October, Saturn is asking you to reflect on the structures and limitations of your life – are they serving you?  What changes can you make, especially regarding your future (Saturn in Aquarius)?

Saturn represents our stability, and brings up themes around structure, time, karma, and authority. Saturn rules Aquarius, so this retrograde brings up battles between progressive and traditional elements. Aquarius represents our need to evolve on both a collective and personal level. Focus on solidifying the foundations of your life; it’s the perfect time to question your way of living and working.

Monday, June 6th: Moon in Virgo trines Venus and Mars bringing harmony between the sexes. This is a great way to start the week. We are feeling kind, loving, and inspired. Virgo Moon means organize, exercise and clear the clutter.

Tuesday, June 7th: Moon in Virgo enters her 2nd quarter. No major aspects, just the Moon squaring the Sun, and then trining Uranus over in Taurus. This can bring volatility in the stock market and surprises (good ones) at work. The house cleaning continues… there’s some big aspects coming in a few days, so don’t let the heavy Saturn energy weigh you down.

Wednesday, June 8th: Moon in Libra brings the balance today. Hopefully we’re feeling more centered after the Moon in Virgo/Saturn station vibe of the last two days. The Libra Moon opposes Jupiter and Mars in Aries, so watch for an upsurge in emotion that could bring conflict with people around you. Most of us want to connect with like-minded friends.

Thursday, June 9th: Moon in Libra trines the Sun today. Good for communication, traveling and negotiating. Gemini season is the month to talk, write, play, socialize and travel. If you have studies or writing to do, now is the time! There’s electricity in the air for the next few days.

Friday, June 10th: Moon goes void in Libra at 10:36am, then into Scorpio at 3:41pm Pacific. The Scorpio Moon adds a serious edge to the evening. Be aware of your surroundings and stay safe. Venus is already in a conjunction with Uranus, which brings unexpected, shocking events to social situations, and the Moon is unable to express herself in Scorpio. Emotions could be bottled up and explode. On top of that, Mercury trines Pluto at 2:21 pm. This can bring transformative conversations to relationships.

Saturday, June 11th: Moon in Scorpio, and Venus conjuncts Uranus in Taurus at 3:58pm. You might hear from people you haven’t spoken to in a long time. This aspect is also great for accessing artistic genius and revolutionary creativity. Focus on people and situations that inspire you, but watch for sudden changes in moods too.

Sunday, June 12th: Moon in Scorpio moves into Sagittarius at 3:30pm Pacific. The mood is much lighter today, and we explore adventures and fun. We are also under the influence of the Full Moon coming Tuesday, which will shift our inner truths and life perspective.

We are experiencing a wonderful astrological portrait right now. The planet Venus (Love) is exalted and moving Direct in her happiest place – Pisces. On top of that it’s Beltane, the high point of Spring! We are still in the orb of the New Moon Eclipse in Taurus yesterday (the sign of Love, commitment and Spring), and there were several lovely conjunctions between the most romantic benefics in the sky – Jupiter, Venus and Neptune. It’s a great week to make progress in Art, Love, design, pleasure, and appreciation of beauty.

Venus enters Aries tomorrow, which signals her fresh new cycle around the Sun. There’s a feeling of rebirth in the air. Then the Sun meets up with Uranus at 14 Taurus on Thursday. This is the last week before Mercury turns retrograde on May 10th, so if you have any important actions to take – now is the time. The Moon is waxing, and for these two weeks we are between two eclipses. It’s a powerful time for change and new beginnings.

The Sun in Taurus brings our attention to our resources – on EARNED prosperity. It’s the sign of sensuality, luxury, indulgence, and places where you feel at home. Mars currently in Pisces directs us towards our intuition, and Pluto, stationary retrograde, asks us to review and release anything that stands in the way of our personal evolution.

Tuesday, May 3rd: Moon in Gemini. If you have any unresolved discussions, today is the day to clear things up. Jupiter sextiles Pluto in the afternoon, expanding the trials we are currently facing. Don’t despair – the answers appear when you look at the big picture.

Wednesday, May 4th:  Moon in Gemini goes void at 1:37pm, then enters Cancer at 4:05pm Pacific. When the Moon is void-of-course, avoid risks and focus on what’s in front of you. The Moon conjuncts Lilith at 0 Cancer, which brings even more confidence to women. Mars sextiles Uranus too, which can clear the air in relationships, but also cause energy fluctuations. Listen to your inner voice.

Thursday, May 5th: Moon in Cancer. Take time out to nurture yourself! With the sensitive Cancer Moon, choose your words wisely and respect peoples’ boundaries. Sun conjunct Uranus today at 14 Taurus. This aspect inspires us express our genius and change paths if needed. Liberate yourself, break free and release outworn patterns. Expect disruptions and revelations.

Friday, May 6th: Indulgent Moon in Cancer. Home projects continue. Moon trine Neptune in the evening brings a desire to escape into movies or video games, but books are better for your brain.

Saturday, May 7th: Moon in Leo trines Venus newly in Aries. Women in particular can bring the information and healing you need to move past inner obstacles. The Moon and Venus are meeting at 1 degree Leo/Aries, which means anything in your chart around 1 degree is getting activated this weekend.
