From Empowering Astrology: “Mars moves to the final degree of Libra, pointing us toward critical relationship issues. The final degree of every sign has an urgency to it, a scrutiny that demands we hold ourselves accountable. Mars in Libra has been six weeks of digging into trust, intimacy, and cooperation.
Come tomorrow, December 9, Mars will move into Scorpio. It’s been my feeling, ever since Jupiter arrived in Scorpio, that we wouldn’t really know the true nature of Jupiter in Scorpio until Mars got there, too. With Mars in Libra, however, a lot has been simmering below the surface, just out of view.
Libra is Scorpio’s 12th House (intermediate astrology alert) and if you know the 12th House at all, the action is in the non physical and in the realm of emotion, dreams, and solitary endeavors. And if Jupiter in Scorpio has been dragging up all our secrets, our shame, the darkness we’ve been hiding, then Mars and Jupiter combined may be like a dam breaking. Something to keep an eye on. (Want to know what Mars in Scorpio will mean for you? Check out my sign by sign guide below.)

Ronnie Pontiac: “Also on Saturday at 1AM Mars leaves Libra and enters Scorpio. Mars is weak in Libra but rules Scorpio. Prepare for more ugly secrets about men to be revealed. Libido may turn less romantic and more kinky with Mars in Scorpio. The negative possibilities include vengefulness, underhanded moves, manipulation but the consequences may be surprising. Instead use Mars in Scorpio to explore. It’s good for catharsis and for transformation.
Next Sunday about an hour and a half after midnight Mercury retrograde trine Uranus is exact again. A great time for writing and other creative communication. Read something futuristic. Find new tech or new community that can help liberate you. Instead of lamenting what is passing find ways to prosper in the new environment that is arriving.
Also on Sunday just before dawn Venus square Neptune is exact. On the negative side this can indicate a strong urge for intoxication and escapism. Romance can be misleading, the typical rose colored glasses scenario. But this can also be a time of great artistic inspiration if you put it in the effort. Jupiter trine Neptune and Saturn trine Uranus can indicate the creation of masterpieces.”
Hilarious. Loved this on #JimmyKimmel! Today’s educational video from #TracyEllisRoss – “What not to do with your Hands”

Time’s Person of the Year. The catalyst? Ashley Judd and Jupiter and Venus in Scorpio 🙂

“Women have had it with bosses and co-workers who not only cross boundaries but don’t even seem to know that boundaries exist. They’ve had it with the fear of retaliation, of being blackballed, of being fired from a job they can’t afford to lose. They’ve had it with the code of going along to get along. They’ve had it with men who use their power to take what they want from women. These silence breakers have started a revolution of refusal, gathering strength by the day, and in the past two months alone, their collective anger has spurred immediate and shocking results: nearly every day, CEOs have been fired, moguls toppled, icons disgraced. In some cases, criminal charges have been brought.”

Just making sure EVERYONE, especially younger folks, have seen this classic piece:
For my part, I believe humanism and spirituality can coexist and are both needed in the world today 🙂

Excellent insight about self care. I often advise people in my practice to abide by H.A.L.T.S.: Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired, Sick. If you have any one of these needs, address it immediately before making big decisions.
But there’s more to it!
Check out this article by Brianna Wiest:
By Brianna Wiest,
“True self-care is not salt baths and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t need to escape from!
…and that often takes doing the thing you don’t want to do.”
“Self-care is often a very unbeautiful thing.
It is making a spreadsheet of your debt and enforcing a morning routine and cooking yourself healthy meals and no longer just running from your problems and calling the distraction a solution.
It is often doing the ugliest thing that you have to do: like sweat through another workout or tell a toxic friend you don’t want to see them anymore, or get a second job so you can have a savings account, or figure out a way to accept yourself so that you’re not constantly exhausted from trying to be everything, all the time…
It often means looking your failures and disappointments square in the eye and re-strategizing. It is not satiating your immediate desires, it is letting go. It is choosing NEW. It is disappointing some people. It is making sacrifices for others. It is living a way that other people won’t, so maybe you can live in a way that other people can’t.
It is letting yourself be normal. Regular. Unexceptional. It is sometimes having a dirty kitchen and deciding your ultimate goal in life isn’t going to be having abs and keeping up with your fake friends. It is deciding how much of your anxiety comes from not actualizing your latent potential, and how much comes from the way you were being trained to think before you even knew what was happening.”

Have you ever been curious about getting a psychic reading? When I had my first one 30 years ago (OMG!!!), I was absolutely fascinated. I couldn’t understand how they talked about my inner thoughts so accurately.
After going to a few of them, I thought sure they were sharing notes on me. Each reading was with different people, but had the same themes as the one before. How could they be seeing the same things just using intuition?? For myself I’ve always had a “sixth sense” about things: from knowing who was about to call on the phone, to assessing the energy of people I was meeting for the first time.
I decided to go through the training at Psychic Horizons in SF and learn how to meditate and read energy. I learned how to have boundaries, and to respect a person’s space and never “read” them without their express permission. I practiced using my own intuition until it became strengthened and honed – and I realized that intuition is part of being human on this planet. Some people dismiss it and close off their own abilities, but I think most people have had their own strange coincidences and know it’s real.
Since then I’ve given thousands of people readings and healings through my own business. It’s stunning to think of where I started and where I’ve ended up. Supporting and guiding others has given me a full, happy life. I’ve met AMAZING people from every walk of life and every corner of the world. I’ve talked to mothers, wives and husbands; lawyers, soldiers, farmers, business women and men; artists, TV personalities, detectives and factory workers. I’ve encountered people from all income levels, faiths and passions – and from all over the world! It’s wonderful having “Facetime” and “Skype” nowadays because I can connect with anyone anywhere. The majority have positively impacted my own spiritual path.
There’s a handful of times though, I’ve encountered a readee who’s proves to be a challenge. Usually they are overwhelmed with emotion, blocked off, afraid of shifting, fearful of trusting me, in a lot of emotional pain or in denial. If I persist and sit with them, I can extract a gem of truth and healing that can assist the person, but it’s difficult and can take time.
I was happy to come across this post today by Matt Auryn, “How To Receive a Better Psychic Reading”. If you’ve ever thought about getting a reading, or haven’t found the right answers in readings, definitely read Matt’s perspective here!
For instance, be specific with your questions and be willing to accept you may not like what you hear. In fact, if you’re in too sensitive a space, you might want to wait to get a reading until you feel open to hearing an uncomfortable truth (in case one comes up). A good reader knows how to deliver difficult news in an inspiring way!
Here’s more of it:
“By being specific the reader can hone into that area of your life to give you more information, guidance, and specifics. Vague questions will often get vague responses. If you simply state “I want to look at my career.” A reader can look at what’s going on in your career and might be able to tell you what your career is. However, if you state, “I want to look at my career. Right now I’m a nurse and I’m not sure if where I’m working is the right place for me or if there’s a better option.” If you’re getting a reading that doesn’t interact directly with the reader, such as my private practice online where I read the person on my own and talk straight into a recorder, do not be afraid to provide information in the form. You will be glad you did.

November 18: New Moon in Scorpio at 3:42am Pacific.
November 21: Sun into Sagittarius.
November 22: Neptune Direct in Pisces.
December 1: Venus into Sagittarius.
December 3: Mercury Retrograde from 29º to 13º Sagittarius.
Today is the New Moon in Scorpio and we arrive at the high point of Autumn – a time of regeneration and transformation for all of us. This new moon has the added spice of Jupiter in Scorpio, bringing good luck and prosperity to the “Scorpio corner” of your chart. If you’ve had your chart done before, find the House that begins in Scorpio. Look at your 8th House too. These are the areas of your life that will be expanded over the next year. If you need help figuring it out, shoot me an email 🙂
Scorpio is the area of your life where you want to go DEEP. You find your passion there, and are compelled to thoroughly investigate the matters ruled by that House. If you look at the last four weeks, back to mid October, you’ll get some insight on the area of your life that needs regeneration and change. Scorpio rules money, sex, the occult, healing and death. There’s a focus on getting our financial lives in order, looking for health insurance, wrapping up loose ends and preparing for 2018. Situations around sexuality, dating, relationships, commitment have come up, along with reproductive issues. And there’s the Scorpio witchiness of Halloween.
All of this is slightly complicated by Scorpio’s ruler, Mars, traveling through the sign of Libra, where it’s debilitated (not happy).
Mars in Libra is analogous to a warrior in full armor sitting in the middle of a tea party or a fancy dress soiree. He’s completely out of place there, feels awkward, frustrated, and can’t wait to leave. Mars in Libra has to slow down and focus on balancing the warrior’s grand designs with the desires of other people. He’d much rather charge ahead on his own. Along with the transformative quality of November, there’s a focus on relationships, and how to balance our goals with the needs of others. Mars will move into Scorpio on December 9th, and our ambitions will start moving forward again.
Also, look out for Mars in Libra squaring Pluto in Capricorn tomorrow (Sunday). Avoid bad neighborhoods, arguing with people, bad food and frustrating social situations. Doing something physical like cleaning the house, going for a hike or helping someone in need is the best way to channel this transit!
This scared the heck outta me when I was a little girl 🙂
The video below is one of my favorite illustrations of Earth elementals, the spirit world, and how our ancestors might have seen them. Ancient humans lived in a world of myth and folklore that was as real as the physical world. I believe these old ways of viewing the world are seeing a resurgence today.
I like how this film shows the mystery of a mountain, and the wildness of nature outside of the village. How his shadow over the land is what causes the dead to rise, and they fly up to him on the winds, then dance in the fires. And I love how he starts doing magick with fire and energy.
Halloween is such a special day. It’s a very old festival, and marks one of the many yearly connection points where we can rise above the physical world and connect with the ephemeral. We connect in a primal way to our planet and what it means to be human.
If you’ve never seen this footage of the demon on the mountain, check it out!

…and here’s the second part where the spirits go back to their graves and wait for the next Halloween…
