Full Moon at 25 Scorpio last night at 9:14pm Pacific. The Moon is weak here, in her fall, meaning that emotions are not easily expressed. Scorpio is the Halloween sign, representing Autumn and decay. Taurus represents springtime, which emerges from the decay as the blooming and flowering of life. Both are dependent on the other and are deeply tied to life on earth. A Scorpio Moon can bring up issues around intimacy and vulnerability, power and control. Use this week to cut the cords of the past and put your energy into the present.

This is the development, the fruition, of whatever was happening two weeks ago. It’s a solar eclipse, which heightens everything and creates a “do or die” attitude. The Full Moon also squares Saturn in Aquarius. We look at our subconscious motivations and turn toward a new direction.

Plotinus wrote: “The stars are like letters that inscribe themselves at every moment in the sky. Everything in the world is full of signs. All events are coordinated. All things depend on each other. Everything breathes together.”

Monday, May 16th: Moon in Sagittarius, but last night’s Full Moon Eclipse in Scorpio is in full effect. No risk taking or pushing boundaries today, focus on yourself and your needs. Venus is conjunct Chiron, which promotes HUGE healing in relationships. Take a fresh look at your inner wounds and be open for new realizations. Today is transformative, so take an unwavering look at your shadow side.

Tuesday, May 17th: Moon in Sagittarius all day. Look at goals and aim for the highest ideals. Jupiter is squaring Lilith for the next couple of weeks, which can expand acts of authenticity and boundary setting. This aspect activates women, self esteem and fearlessness. Also last night we had a biggie – Mars conjunct Neptune near midnight. Strong energy for artistic, romantic, musical or spiritual pursuits. Hopefully no bad news regarding water.

Wednesday, May 18th: Moon in Capricorn, which is the Moon’s detriment. Another tough day for emotional sharing, so hold off if you can. The rest of the week is about hard work and earned rewards, because Saturn insists on commitment. The Full Moon is still unfolding, so there will be continued developments with current issues.

Thursday, May 19th: Moon in Capricorn all day so we follow our drives and ambitions. Do not seek concessions from authority figures – leave that until next week. Take stock of life and strengthen the foundation. Mercury sextile Jupiter is exact which lightens the mood.

Friday, May 20th: Moon in Aquarius. The Sun leaves Taurus for GEMINI at 6:23pm Pacific! We move from an Earth sign to an Air sign, which makes all of us feel lighter. With Gemini, our minds and social circles are activated. Lots of chattiness… talking is the way forward.

Saturday, May 21st: Moon in Aquarius and Sun conjunct Mercury is exact. These aspects, plus the Suns’ entrance into Gemini, make this a very “Airy” day. Mercury is retrograde though, so reworking old ideas or reorganizing your life are the best outlets. Air energy is mental activities, studying, short trips, puzzles, communication and community. Enjoy learning and good conversation.

Sunday, May 22nd: Moon in Pisces enters her 4th quarter, and we are in the dark of the Moon. Now is the time for solitude, introspection, and rest. Mercury moves backwards into Taurus and immediately squares Saturn (in Aquarius) in the morning. Guard against negative thinking or arguments with authorities. Release old habits and thinking patterns.

Hecate

Hecate.Goddess at Pompeii
Villa of P. Fannius Synistor at Boscoreale. Cubiculum M, second panel from south end of west wall. According to Barnabei, this wall painting depicts a golden statue of Diana Hecate bearing torches.

“She was the goddess who scattered her benefits on the end of life on those who protected it. She welcomed them, in peace underground, among the ranks of the blessed in the happiness of Elysium.
In the painting she has a gold crown with serpents’ heads and necks on the top. Her chest was crossed by a white band to which was attached the quiver, visible behind the right shoulder. She is within a sacred portal wrapped in yellow ribbons. From the portal hangs a bearded mask of an old Silenus above which a lintel is supported on the wings of two swans. On top of the lintel are two silver urns and between them is a round gold shield. At the base is a small red walled area with an altar with offering on top and two vases on benches. Either side are red columns painted with flowers and climbers.”

“Hecate: The Virgin Mother Goddess
The Greek Magical Papyri repeatedly refer to her as the Great Mother, using the epithets of Geneteira and Pammetor. An example comes from the Spell to the Waning Moon: “Mother of all who bore love.”

The judeochristian depiction of a virgin woman who brought to life the son of God, displayed in a metaphorical way the connection between the Acausal and the physical realm.

This is one of the hidden aspects of Hecate, the one who holds the keys between the Acausal and the Causal.

Reviewing the existing literature about Hekate reveals that her three-formed nature is reflected in her maternal roles. She can be considered Mother of the Gods, Mother of All Things and a mother to individuals.

In addition, her long history portrays her as the Mother of Witches. Contemporary Hekate is often seen as The Dark Mother, which reflects NAOS’ interpretation of her.

Hekate is a complex goddess that presents herself in different forms throughout the ages and to those seeking her, as reflected in her various maternal roles.

(1) Hecate has even been linked to the Virgin Mary through Mary’s indirect link to Lilith (as the second Eve) and through the association of both with the holy day of August 15. This is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin when Mary is petitioned to avert storms so that the fields can ripen. A festival for Hecate was held on August 13. She too was invoked for help in preventing storms so that the harvest could be gathered.

(2) She was at one time the goddess of all aspects of the moon but eventually this dominion was split into three with Persephone/Artemis as the virgin/new moon and Demeter/Hera/Selene as the mother/full moon.

She was connected to all three of the life stages. She was there at the time of fertilization and birth. She could open the womb of all living creatures. As the mistress of gates, doors and the abyss she was the symbol of the feminine womb. She was the guardian of women in child birth. She was a nurse of the young. She had associations to growing and the harvest through her relationship to the phases of the moon and her suppression of storms. She was the goddess of healing and magic. And at the end of time she was the Queen of Night, Mistress of the Lower Way, Opener of the Way to Death.

As the Queen of Death, she ruled the powers of regeneration as represented by her association with the serpent.

Pythagoras

“Arriving in Egypt, Pythagoras tried to gain entry into the Mystery Schools of that country. He applied again and again, but he was told that unless he goes through a particular training of fasting and breathing, he cannot be allowed to enter the school. Pythagoras is reported to have said, ” I have come for knowledge, not any sort of discipline.”

But the school authorities said,” we cannot give you knowledge unless you are different. And really, we are not interested in knowledge at all, we are interested in actual experience. No knowledge is knowledge unless it is lived and experienced. So you will have to go on a 40 day fast, continuously breathing in a certain manner, with a certain awareness on certain points.” After 40 days of fasting and breathing, aware, attentive, he was allowed to enter the school at Diospolis.

It is said that Pythagoras said, ”You are not allowing Pythagoras in. I am a different man, I am reborn. You were right and I was wrong, because then my whole standpoint was intellectual. Through this purification, my center of being has changed. Before this training I could only understand through the intellect, through the head. Now I can feel. Now truth is not a concept to me, but a life.”

Women who chase avoidant men

“We may find distant or avoidant partners alluring because their avoidance is a challenge for our ego …

We might find it more exciting to be caught up in a push-pull dynamic with someone, than to say yes to love that is readily available and healthy for us.

The excitement comes from eroticizing rejection – it feeds that part of us that still feels like have something to prove.

Prove we’re lovable or worthy. That we are so special that we can change someone’s mind or behaviour.

But that excitement you feel is also draining your energy and soul-sucking on so many levels.

When we abandon ourselves for someone who’s undeserving of our energy, our inner-child is is usually hurting deeply and feeling afraid to be alone.

It’s ok to walk away when your heart isn’t being cherished, honored or supported.

We’re all going to have days where we show up as the worst version of ourselves.

But at the end of the day, we all deserve to be with someone who we know is in our corner.

Someone who loves us on the hard days and treats the relationship as sacred.

Any time we waste chasing someone to give us love, there’s an unmet internal need for love and nurturance toward our inner-child.

You don’t need someone to reflect back your wounds without being willing to heal with you.

You don’t need someone to trigger all of your insecurities by treating you like an after-thought or avoiding intimacy.

It might feel unnatural to let go of this type of connection because you’re breaking a very old pattern … you might even find it “boring” to move towards love that doesn’t trigger you.

Don’t worry, this doesn’t make you “crazy”, it means you really want to heal.

And to heal, you have to practice letting healthy love in.

Healing occurs as you sever your addictions to shadow relationships and move toward people who hold you in your highest light.

Healing comes from doing Self-acceptance work and making the relationship with YOU and your inner-child the number one relationship in your life.

And healing occurs from understanding yourself and your true nature in relationship.”
