Full Moon in Gemini

Current SIDEREAL placements. Sidereal is different than traditional tropical astrology because it’s based on where the planets actually ARE in the constellations:

Sun at 28 Sagittarius
Mercury DIRECT at 11 Sagittarius (in it’s detriment, no Mercurial Magick)
Venus at 15 Aquarius
Mars RETROGRADE at 2 Cancer (Fall, no Mars magick)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 17 Taurus
Saturn at 20 Aquarius (rulership)
Uranus RETROGRADE at 28 Aries
Neptune 2 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto at 6 Capricorn
North Node at 4 Pisces

Monday, January 13, 2025: Full Moon at 28° Gemini (sidereal), at 2:27pm Pacific. This week will show culminating experiences in our communications, thinking, mindset, and social groups. Gemini is talking and socializing, so get out and have some fun! Also, Full Moons bring peak experiences from the energy that’s been building over the previous two weeks. The focus now is on finding our inner truths, and looking at the big picture of our lives. Maybe you need some time in solitude so you can reflect on what’s working in your life, and what you need to release so you can live in your truth.

Try to avoid confrontations or risky situations though, since the Full Moon is conjunct the planet Mars – actually blocking his light in the sky.

Venus will be approaching Saturn this week, arriving exactly conjunct on Saturday, January 18th. This aspect is powerful, and will bring a seriousness to our relationships and creative projects. It will encourage us to get organized, disciplined and responsible with regards to art, music, groups and socializing. It could also support the folks in LA to begin the path of rebuilding their lives into a structure where they can flourish. Saturn rules houses, plans, structure, stability and focus. Venus also rules women, and the conjunction with Saturn can bring up worries and pessimism about relationships. Saturn demands that boundaries be respected and that communications are authentic. People need loyalty and space with this aspect. If you need to have a heart to heart with someone, speak carefully, with restraint and respect.

Uranus is stationing over our heads for several weeks, bringing many changes in direction for each of us. Uranus liberates from limiting ideas and relationships – he sets us free. Where do you need freedom right now? How might new communities help us? Try something different. Take a detour or go to a completely new place and see what happens!

New Moon in Libra

Current SIDEREAL placements. Sidereal is different than traditional tropical astrology because it’s based on where the planets actually ARE in the constellations:

Sun at 15 Libra (in it’s Fall, no Sun magick)
Mercury DIRECT at 3 Scorpio
Venus at 23 Scorpio (detriment, no Venus magick)
Mars at 4 Cancer (Fall, no Mars magick)
Jupiter at RETROGRADE 25 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 17 Aquarius (rulership)
Uranus RETROGRADE at 0 Taurus
Neptune RETROGRADE 2 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto at 4 Capricorn
North Node at 11 Pisces

Friday we had a New Moon at 15° Libra sidereal. It’s a new beginning for our relationships, friendships, and creative pursuits. New Moons turn the page and give us an opportunity to start over and set new intentions. The new lens for this month is a focus on relationships of all kinds. Maybe you need to reconnect with people you haven’t seen in awhile, or maybe you need new friends. You can reset things now and change your focus.

If you’ve never had your true chart done using sidereal astrology, you can book a reading with me here.

Venus rules the sign of Libra, and unfortunately she’s not in a great position in the sign of Scorpio. In fact, most of the planets are in challenging signs OR retrograde, so now is a time to get organized rather than doing planetary Magick.

Mars and Pluto are in perfect opposition too at 4° Cancer/Capricorn. This means confrontation and potential violence. I don’t want to overly alarm anyone, BUT it’s best right now to turn the other cheek and avoid trouble with other people. This will be happening through the election and for much of November. On the good side, Pluto demands evolution and reformation, so you can rebirth yourself powerfully. Mars opposition to Pluto can move mountains and help you do the impossible, calling upon inexhaustible resources of energy. As an evolutionary planet, Pluto ultimately demands evolution and this may be a key theme over the next four weeks.

New Moon eclipse in Virgo

Current SIDEREAL placements. Sidereal is different than traditional tropical astrology because it’s based on where the planets actually ARE in the constellations:

Sun at 14 Virgo
Mercury DIRECT at 15 Virgo (exalted)
Venus at 15 Libra (rulership, good for Venus magick)
Mars at 20 Gemini
Jupiter at 26 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 19 Aquarius (rulership)
Uranus RETROGRADE at 1 Taurus
Neptune RETROGRADE 3 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 4 Capricorn
North Node at 11 Pisces

We have moved into October, placing us firmly in harvest season! TODAY we have a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 15° Virgo. If you have any planets in your chart near 15° Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, they are being activated in a big way. If you’ve never had your true chart done using sidereal astrology, you can book a reading with me here.

Mercury is there too, conjunct the Sun at 15° Virgo. This is an exceptionally “Airy” new moon. All the energy is focused on language, the Mind, communication, honesty, truth, writing, community and focus. However, because it’s an ECLIPSE, the energies can be blocked. We need to take a step forward in a brand new direction today to access the gifts of this cycle. With the energy happening in Virgo, organizing our lives, rolling up our sleeves and getting to work are the best uses of our time.

Mars in Gemini is also throwing immense energy into the mix, since Mars is “drive” and Gemini is another Air sign. In Gemini, Mars lets go of his armor and becomes a social butterfly, focusing on communication, solving puzzles and battles of strategy. People with anxiety might need extra support during this time, because Mars adds electricity to our nervous system. A good place to focus your attention is on freedom and liberation. Where do you need to set yourself free? Let yourself off the hook? Have some FUN and adventures? This transit is spectacular for studying a new subject, or applying your mind to solve any type of challenge.

New Moon in Leo

Current SIDEREAL:
Sun at 15 Leo (in rulership, very strong)
Mercury at 28 Cancer
Venus at 10 Virgo (in detriment. No Venus Magick now)
Mars at 3 Gemini
Jupiter at 24 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 21 Aquarius (rulership)
Neptune RETROGRADE at 3 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 4 Capricorn
North Node at 11 Pisces

We begin this week with a New Moon in Leo, which occurred Monday at 15 Leo, and continues to unfold throughout the week. Begin new projects involving creativity and self expression. Leo is the most powerful of all zodiac signs, because it is the only one ruled by the Sun. Now we get to play around, be childlike, explore beauty, be romantic, goof off, create art and be physical. It symbolizes our souls, and their EXPRESSION, along with a feeling of togetherness.

With the Sun in Leo, we revel in our true identity, and practice new ways of expressing it to the world.

Week of July 21st: Full Moon at 5 Capricorn

Sun at 5 Cancer
Mercury DIRECT at 1 Leo
Venus at 17 Cancer
Mars at 5 Taurus
Jupiter at 17 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 23 Aquarius (rulership)
Neptune RETROGRADE 4 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 5 Capricorn
North Node at 14 Pisces

The full Moon yesterday was conjunct Pluto, and it demands we connect with our shadow sides. It’s an earthy, Saturnian, Capricorn Full Moon conjunct Pluto, which has us drill down and get honest about our lives. This powerful event is likely to expose uncomfortable truths and bring up unprocessed pain from our past that is now ready to be felt and acknowledged. What’s the reality of your life, and what needs tending to? Is something blocking you from moving forward?

If it sounds heavy, it is. Capricorn is a disciplined sign, and there’s no goofing off. It demands hard work in order to earn rewards. This is the fruition of what’s been building this month, and it engages Pluto: the planet of shadow and transformation. We will end the month in a different place than where we started. The energies of this Full Moon will unfold over the week ahead as well as the next six months. We will have peak experiences with our ambitions, career, and personal story.

The Capricorn Full Moon is especially relevant for those of us born with planets in the early degrees of Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). This Moon gives opportunities to recognize the deeper lessons behind repetitive cycles and patterns we continuously get caught in, bringing the spotlight on unprocessed past pain that needs their presence and attention.

Also, the Moon is in her detriment here – uncomfortable, heavy, and unable to express herself. Authorities will be rigid and uncaring. Energy is hard to get off the ground, control issues arise along with power struggles.

image: Around midnight, you’ll see a huge star pattern above the full moon called the Summer Triangle, which includes the stars Vega, Altair, and Deneb

Week of July 8th: New Moon in Gemini

Current Sidereal Placements:
Sun at 22 Gemini
Mercury at 14 Cancer
Venus at 0 Cancer
Mars at 25 Aries (rulership)
Jupiter at 14 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 24 Aquarius (rulership)
Uranus at 0 Taurus
Neptune RETROGRADE at 4 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 6 Capricorn
North Node at 15 Pisces

We had a New Moon at 20 Gemini last Friday. Every New Moon is a new beginning, and this one brings a change in attitude. The urge to get out and socialize will be strong, but a trine with Saturn asks us to keep our boundaries and practice self discipline too. This New Moon is great for activities requiring mental fortitude – especially study. Focus on simplifying your life.

The difficult news, is Mars traveling through the end of Aries and burning us all up in the process. This transit brings extreme heat, fires, battles, explosions, eruptions, and general drama. I’ve never experienced this current two week long heat wave before in my life. Every day we have temperatures over 105° and it’s overwhelming. I’m sad for the future of our society and planet.

There are some lovely sextiles happening this week. The first, between Mercury at 14 Cancer and Jupiter at 14 Taurus. While Mercury isn’t happy slogging through Cancer, we can focus our attentions and communication to our financial security during this time. The most interesting sextile, is the one between Venus and Uranus both at 0° Cancer and Taurus respectively. This is a complete reset in our relationships and friendships; but with Uranus in the mix, some events could take us by surprise. Be thoughtful and speak sincerely.

Astrology Week of June 10th

Mars enters Taurus today, bringing a refocus on our work, love, animals, and living arrangements. Slow down, take stock of your life right now, get grounded, and spend time with nature. This is also a lovely romantic transit.

Venus, the planet of Love and Creativity, is still traveling close with the Sun and going through a transformation, emerging as the morning star in the next few weeks.

Mars is squaring Pluto over the next few days, which brings tests to our evolution and life path. Be present with anger, and avoid battles with others because they can escalate with this transit. Mars through Taurus continues with a sextile to Saturn in Pisces (July 10th), and a conjunction to Uranus (July 16th) and ends with sextile to Neptune on July 24th. In this month Saturn and Neptune are also stationing retrograde adding to the need for careful and well considered moves.

Dark of the Moon: Week of September 4th

VENUS turned Direct in Leo this week, just as JUPITER turns backwards in the other direction. Both are stationing over our heads for the next 10 days or so. September is a bundle of retrogrades and cross currents. If you look below, almost every single planet is going backwards, with the exception of MARS, however this fiery planet is miserable in the sign of Libra (in his detriment).

The vibe this month is introspection – turning our focus inwards and checking in with our instincts. Retrograde planets have us rethinking everything, traveling over old ground, revisiting old choices and decisions, perhaps worrying, feeling helpless, and unable to get over things we need to release. The Seven Talismans

Making a talisman for a planet gives one the power of attracting the Seven Planetary Forces. Unfortunately these metals are extremely expensive, or lethal (i.e. lead and quicksilver), but it’s still interesting to look at these correspondences. They apply to writing with different colored inks as well.

Gold is the Metal of the Sun
Silver is the Metal of the Moon
Iron is the Metal of Mars
Copper is the Metal of Venus
Quicksilver is the Metal of Mercury
Tin is the Metal of Jupiter
Lead is the Metal of Saturn

The 7 Kabbalistic Signs of the Planets are:

1. Moon: a Globe Divided by Two Middle Moons.

2. Mercury: a Cadeus and Cynocephalus.

3. Venus: a Sexual Lingam.

4. Sun: a Serpent with the Head of a Lion.

5. Mars: a Dragon biting a Swords Guard.

6. Jupiter: a Pentagram, or an Eagle’s Beak.

7. Saturn: a Limping Elder, or a Rock entwined by a Serpent.

The Governors of the Seven Planets are:

1. Gabriel: Moon
2. Raphael: Mercury
3. Uriel: Venus
4. Michael: Sun
5. Samael: Mars
6. Zachariel: Jupiter
7. Orifiel: Saturn

Also, the Seven Notes of the Lyre of Orpheus correspond to the Seven Planets. A Planetary note corresponds to each one of the Seven Colors of the Solar Prism. Alchemy is Intimately Related to Music.

Full Moon in Virgo/ Saturn into Pisces

March 7, 2023: Full Moon at 16 Virgo. The sign of the Virgin, which represents “being whole”, pure, and uncorrupted. It unifies our health and our work, and inspires us to live in integrity. Beware of the obsession with perfection and overthinking.

If you feel overwhelmed by this full moon, go over to the Pisces Sun on the other side of the sky for guidance. Reconnect with your spirituality, faith, and the god of your heart. Reassure yourself that you are exactly where you need to be right now, and cleanse yourself and your home.

Also today, Saturn enters Pisces. This marks a huge change in the undercurrent of our lives and society. Saturn is authority, ambition and power, and represents the institutions in our world, as well as the structures of our lives. Pisces dissolves what it touches, and erodes the stability of Saturn, so Saturn isn’t too happy in Pisces.

The best way to handle this transit is to be aware of the qualities of “sacrifice” and “surrender”. Use them to navigate the realities in your life. Surrender to discipline, to your basic needs, to the reality of who you are and what you want to accomplish. This will be a great few years to focus on bettering yourself, and supporting the growth of people around you.
