Week of September 14th

Lady of the Lake

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 21 Virgo
Mercury at 11 Libra
Venus at 7 Leo
Mars RETROGRADE at 28 Aries (Rulership)
Jupiter DIRECT at 17 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 25 Capricorn (rulership)
Neptune at 19 Pisces (rulership, strong)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 22 Capricorn
North Node at 24 Gemini

Jupiter (wealth, expansion) went Direct on Saturday, giving this week a fresh, optimistic flavor. Sagittarians are in forward motion again. Jupiter will be retracing territory he’s already covered since March, so we will see more news, and possible expansion, of the pandemic. Moon conjunct Venus in Leo occurred Sunday, which is a lovely aspect bringing joy, healing, beauty, art and inspiration.

The New Moon in Virgo will trine the “Covid” planets – Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter – giving a practical way of dealing with this year’s momentous changes. The Moon will also square the North Node in Gemini this week. This brings fated decisions and choices about the path you want to take… I think this is a good week to use your mind and make balanced, practical decisions from a place of neutrality.

Underneath it all, we remain under the influence of the Mars/Lilith-in-Aries square to Pluto/Saturn/Jupiter-in-Capricorn. Mars, the planet of fire, stood still in the skies last week in the fire sign of Aries, which underlined the igniting of the entire West Coast of the US. I’m so sad that thousands of people are suffering such huge loss from this event. With Mars retrograde, we will all spend the next couple of months regrouping and reassessing how we want to direct our energy. Drive and passion have turned inward, and we each need to check in with ourselves and our ambitions.

Monday, September 14th: Moon in Leo. The place where Leo falls in your chart is where you need to stand out! It’s where you can be wildly creative. Also today Sun trine Pluto at 4:09pm Pacific. The Sun is our Soul, and a trine means it receives lovely energy from Pluto, bringing rebirth, healing and reform. This aspect clears your path for soul evolution.

Tuesday, September 15th: Moon in Virgo. Get organized, and do something good for your health. Venus square Uranus at 8:30am. Expect revelations around relationships and art. New and sudden flashes of the future. Do something different – something aligned with who you are becoming. Squares bring challenges that require action. Be brave and bold.

Wednesday, September 16th: Moon in Virgo. The best day for communication and negotiating. Continue putting things in their place and getting your life in order. Intellectual pursuits and clear communication are strong.

Thursday, September 17th: New Moon in Virgo at 4am Pacific. We plant the seeds of our dreams in fertile soil. Virgo brings manifestation through plans and practicality. Our focus is on health, habits and being of service to others. Spend the day getting organized, exercising or starting a new, healthy habit. Detailed work is easy. Also, Mercury square Jupiter might encourage overindulgence. Use the Mercury side of the equation and keep your discernment.

Friday, September 18th: Moon in Libra. Bring your life back into balance. If you feel that one corner of your life is dominating you, take this weekend to focus on other things. Everything will be a team effort for the next few days. Partnerships are highlighted, and it’s a romantic weekend ❤

Saturday, September 19th: Moon into Scorpio, Day of transformation. When the Moon is in Scorpio we go deep and explore our passions. Avoid socially awkward situations.

Week of September 7th

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 14 Virgo
Mercury at 1 Libra
Venus at 0 Leo
Mars at 28 Aries (Rulership)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 17 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 25 Capricorn (rulership)
Neptune at 19 Pisces (rulership, strong)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 22 Capricorn
North Node at 25 Gemini

We’re in the dark of the Moon this week, so don’t do anything, just rest. The Moon is waning until next Thursday, September 17th when we will have a New Moon in Virgo.

Divine Timing.

Currently, Mars is at a dead stop in the sky, and will turn retrograde (go backwards) on Wednesday. It will retrace it’s steps and go over ground we’ve already covered, retriggering the sensitive degrees which heralded Covid19. The earth shaking changes of 2020 were sparked by the rare and fateful conjunction between Saturn and Pluto on January 12th. Mars has been tensely squaring these planets for weeks, giving energy to the dynamic protest movements erupting around the world. Mars will now go back and wake it all up, continuing the intensity of this year.

On a personal level, Mars is taking us on a journey through the underworld until November 13th. This means our energy is directed inward, and we look at ourselves rather than taking action on people or situations around us. We reassess our ambitions while Mars is retrograde, and revaluate our life path and direction. It is a time to think about our actions, and whether they are aligned with the life and world we want to create.

What’s the truth right now… what are you DOING?

What kind of life do you want to have, and are your current actions in alignment with creating it?

Are your goals in alignment with your true and highest self?

Your energy and drive are valuable; is it worth what you’re spending our time on?

Have your goals changed and do you want something different?

The North Node in Gemini encourages us to connect online. It’s up to us to let go of our repressed sexuality and anger (Pluto), welcome inspiration (Jupiter), and restructure our reality (Saturn). Venus in Leo, the sign of the heart, asks us to fall in love with ourselves and the creativity we hold inside, and share it with the world.

Monday, September 7th: Moon in Taurus. Great day to get out in nature or work in a garden… except for all of the smoke of course 😦 Cook an opulent mean instead. Taurus Moon is good for focusing on health and working with animals.

Tuesday, September 8th: Moon VOC all day in Taurus. Ground through nurturing your needs and home life. Make art.

Wednesday, September 9th: Moon into Gemini. Chatty. Good day for talking, sociability and online activities. Mars goes retrograde at 3:22pm Pacific. Tensions could be high today, so don’t dig too deep. Issues around sex, anger, and ambition may arise, as well as challenges with men. Focus on the goal. Avoid aggressive people, as violence can happen easily with Mars stationary retrograde.

Thursday, September 10th: Moon in Gemini. Good communications today, but stay civil.

Friday, September 11th: Moon in Cancer. Lots of sensitivity, sweetness and nostalgia. Arguments and drama will get you nowhere, so disconnect if someone wants to fight. Avoid overindulgence, except with food. Good movie night.

Saturday, September 12th: Moon in Cancer, Jupiter DIRECT in Capricorn. Sagittarians will feel great today with their ruling planet going the right direction. For the rest of us it’s a mixed bag. The desire for drugs and alcohol can be strong. Bring some compassion into your day. Use your imagination today and be receptive to inspiration and visions.

Week of September 1st

Hasui Kawase, (1883-1957) Moon at Megome, 1930 (Woodblock print)

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 8 Virgo
Mercury at 18 Virgo
Venus at 22 Cancer (neutral)
Mars at 27 Aries (Rulership)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 17 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 26 Capricorn (rulership)
Neptune at 19 Pisces (rulership, strong)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 22 Capricorn
North Node at 25 Gemini

Full Moon in Pisces Tuesday evening, which is normally a spiritual and peaceful event, however, issues around leadership, control and violence will be evident this week. Eris, the planet of Discord is in the sign of Aries, the Individual. She is in a tense square to her brother Pluto, the planet of extremes, in the sign of Capricorn, which symbolizes control and the patriarchy. I would avoid honestly avoid protests this week and the foreseeable future.

Monday, August 31st: Moon in Aquarius. Believe in your genius and gifts. No one else in the world can express your unique energy, so it’s up to you. People are friendly, and progress can be made in communications. With an Aquarius Moon, video chat with your friends or community. If you encounter stubbornness, practice mindfulness.

Tuesday, September 1st: Full (HARVEST) Moon in Pisces at 10:22pm. Meditate and contemplate. Music and spirituality soothe the soul and ignite our imaginations. Great night to play or listen to music, or do your art!

Wednesday, September 2nd: Full Moon in Pisces continues. Follow your intuition, go with the flow, and make time for solitude. Also, Venus opposition to Saturn is exact in the morning. Venus (women, art creativity) comes up against the reality and discipline needed to be productive. Women might come up against resistance in the work place. You are being asked to be patient, but to also completely own who you are and who you’re growing in to! Venus going through oppositions with Saturn and Pluto this week illuminates the areas where you are evolving and setting boundaries. Watch for messages from the Universe!

Thursday, September 3rd: Moon in Aries. Use what you’ve learned from the Full Moon this week to start something new today! Focus your ambition and drive towards things you want to accomplish. Aries is the sign of individuality, so it’s all about YOU. Try and get yourself grounded before undertaking anything. Lots of energy for adventures, creativity, and new projects.

Friday, September 4th: Moon In Aries. We are still feeling energetic and good progress can be made in the morning. Venus square Mars today brings sexy tension to relationships! With Mars in Aries and Venus in Cancer, be sensitive to the other person’s feelings, and make sure there is good understanding between you before taking any action.

Saturday, September 5th: Moon in Aries and Mercury into Libra! Our mental focus changes from analysis and nervousness to balance and creativity. You will receive lots of wonderful artistic and creative ideas. Communications in relationships will get a positive boost. Focus on being balanced and fair in your dealings with others.

Sunday, September 6th: Moon in Taurus. The coziness of home. Nice evening to cook and be around loved ones. Venus enters Leo today too! All of us will feel the urge to shine, express our individuality and be more outgoing. Love and art become fiery and passionate, and women step into leadership. Make use of this month, Venus will be in Leo until October 2nd. For artists, let yourself loose to experiment and show whatever you discovered while Venus was in Cancer.

Yoginis

Temple of Kriya Yoga

“A yogi in the cave or in the forest can attain enlightenment by renunciation and asceticism. However, only the wise knows how that soul will respond when faced with others and their karma. A householder can become enlightened by fulfilling to the best of his/her ability family obligations and by the performance of their own dharma. The householder has the greater advancement because that soul is always faced with other souls and their karma. In summary, the householder is tested daily and succeeds daily. The cave yogi is rarely tested, and thus is never quite sure where he stands in the battle of self-discipline.”-Goswami Kriyananda, “Thought for the Day”

Week of August 24th: VIRGO

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 1 Virgo
Mercury at 7 Virgo
Venus at 15 Cancer (neutral)
Mars at 26 Aries (Rulership)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 18 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 26 Capricorn (rulership)
Neptune at 20 Pisces (rulership, strong)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 22 Capricorn
North Node at 25 Gemini

Virgo Season and the beginning of Harvest. The days are getting shorter and our instincts turn towards the approach of Fall. Such a magical time of year! The seasons are about to change next month, and this shift can bring dramatic changes in our lives. After the craziness of this year, I hope the changes will move us forward towards personal empowerment. Now is the time to release and purge objects and situations from our lives that we cannot bring into the winter.

This week, Mars moves past it’s square to Saturn, finishing it’s contact with the “Covid Point” of Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter near 24 Capricorn. Mars in Aries gives good forward progress on all passions and drives – especially with regards to retooling our identities to fit the new paradigm. We are all fired up right now, especially where Aries falls in your chart. This is the place where you step forward and say “I AM”, this is important to me, and I will fight for it. All of us have an action plan we’re supposed to be following, and this week we figure it out.

Monday, August 24th: Moon in Scorpio and Mars square Saturn. That means our plans might face constructive criticism, postponement, hard facts and unavoidable limitations. What reality do you need to embrace to achieve your goals? Avoid social complications and focus on healing. Be the snake shedding it’s skin. Scorpio is the sign of letting go of something you’ve outgrown, and welcoming the new you.

Tuesday, August 25th: Moon into Sagittarius. Mercury trine Uranus around 8am Pacific. Listen to any “messages” you receive from the universe. Flashes of insight can arrive suddenly! Great for eye opening writing and communication. Pay attention to developments this week, and what you’re being “called” to do, and put your energies there.

Wednesday, August 26th: Moon in Sagittarius. Moon activates the “I AM” energy with Mars, bringing us some wisdom along with it. It’s a day of motion and looking at the big picture. It’s a lighter mood if you need to express something difficult or challenging to someone.

Thursday, August 27th: Moon in Capricorn; Venus trine Neptune around 2pm Pacific. Absolutely LOVELY aspect that enhances the arts, love, friendship and visions. Be mystical today, but embrace the Capricorn Moon and get to work too. Put effort into creative ventures.

Friday, August 28th: Moon in Capricorn. The great vibes from yesterday continue. If you are a creative person, work on your projects! Time is well spent on disciplines and completing responsibilities. DO it.

Saturday, August 29th: Moon in Aquarius; Mercury trine Jupiter around 6:30am Pacific. Inspirations abound. Feel the optimism in the air today! Aquarius asks us to focus on the future, make plans, and involve our network of friends. Watch out for risky behavior though, since Uranus brings spontaneity, rebellion, and independence. Focus on expressing your unique genius.

Sunday, August 30th: Moon in Aquarius, and Venus opposite Pluto at 6:30am Pacific. Events right now feel like fate. If there’s explosiveness with relationships, try to be kind and respectful of the other person’s feelings. Obsessiveness and lust can take over our thoughts, so make great art instead. Healing and art can come from exploring dark places within us.

Week of August 17th

CURRENTLY:
New Moon at 26 Leo this Tuesday
Mercury at 24 Leo
Venus at 9 Cancer (neutral)
Mars at 24 Aries (Rulership)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 18 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 26 Capricorn (rulership)
Neptune at 20 Pisces (rulership, strong)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 23 Capricorn
North Node at 26 Gemini

Uranus (shocking, sudden events) is sitting still over our heads and turning retrograde as we begin this week. It’s the planet of electricity, and we had a huge lightning storm over Northern California this weekend! Uranus will be standing still most of the week, then moving backwards for months. It’s a good time to think about your future, try out new things and express your genius. Don’t be afraid to be different, and to let your wild, rebellious genius loose on the world. We are being awakened to a new level and new life. Uranus sets us free.

A yod (finger of fate) is also happening this week! Watch for more dramatic events. The Sun conjunct Mercury will be sextile (150 degrees) from Jupiter on one side, and Neptune in Pisces on the other. The “Yod” is pointed at 20 Aquarius. Jupiter in Capricorn wants to help you make something real and tangible from your creative expression (Leo), while Neptune is giving you mixed signals and confusion from the collective. The way through it is Aquarius! Become the observer, don’t take it personally and focus on the future. What does the community want or need?

Mars (action) is in an almost perfect square with Saturn (responsibility) and Pluto (catharsis) right now through October. Avoid disputes with others and make peace within yourself.

Monday, August 17th: Moon in Leo. The place where Leo falls in your chart is where you need to stand out! Also where you can be wildly creative. We stand on the cusp of a New Moon in Leo – and today is a great day to get concessions from authority. Mercury conjunct the Sun, so communications are highlighted.

Tuesday, August 18th: New Moon in Leo. Let the child in you come out and play! You may find yourself leading or motivating people. Great day to stand out, shine, and perform. See this New Moon as a beginning and an ending – a way to change both your history and your future. Start new creative things!

Wednesday, August 19th: Moon in Virgo. Our focus turns towards health, habits and being of service to others. Spend the day getting organized, exercising or starting a new, healthy habit. Detailed work is easy now.

Thursday, August 20th: Moon in Virgo. Continue putting things in their place and getting your life in order. Intellectual pursuits and clear communication are strong.

Friday, August 21st: Moon in Libra. Bring your life back into balance. If you feel that one corner of your life is dominating you, take this weekend to focus on other things. Everything will be a team effort for the next few days. Partnerships are highlighted, and it’s a romantic weekend ❤

Saturday, August 22nd: Moon in Libra, Sun enters Virgo. We begin a new cycle of the Sun and enter harvest season! We harvest the bounty from the seeds we have sown this year, we will each be harvesting massive personal and societal transformation.

Week of August 10th

Hades or Pluto, God of the Underworld, Unknown artist

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 18 Leo
Mercury at 11 Cancer (weak)
Venus at 3 Cancer
Mars at 22 Aries (Rulership)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 19 Capricorn (fall, very weak)
Saturn RETROGRADE at 27 Capricorn (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 23 Capricorn
Neptune at 20 Pisces (rulership, strong)
North Node at 26 Gemini

We’re in the dark of the Moon this week, so don’t do anything, just rest. The Moon is waning, or balsamic, until next Tuesday, August 18th when we will have a New Moon in Leo. There’s a lot roiling under the surface…

The current Sun in Leo is a wonderful time, since out brightest star has come home to his kingdom. We can let our hair down and be ourselves. The Sun symbolizes the soul and identity, and invites us to express ourselves. The background of Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn have changed how we do this. We can express ourselves, but we have to protect our fellow humans from the scourge of Covid19 at the same time. We need to wear masks and physically distance. The North Node in Gemini encourages us to connect online. It’s up to us to let go of our heavy worries (Pluto), welcome inspiration (Jupiter), and restructure our reality (Saturn). Leo, the sign of the heart, asks us to fall in love with ourselves and the creativity we hold inside, and share it with the world.

And then there’s all the stuff going in Aries which is INTENSE! We have Black Moon Lilith (wild feminine) joining forces with Eris (Goddess of Discord) – both hanging out with Mars (God of War). Yikes. These three are scary enough on their own, all sitting on their dark thrones at 22 Aries. They bring the absolute insistence to be ourselves, define our boundaries and fight if need be to make a point. Have you seen the violence in American cities over the past week? Stand offs and clashes between protestors and police, looters… and that horrible explosion in Beirut. These three are squaring (causing tension) with the three in Capricorn, causing the fall of old patriarchal structures, institutions, and governments (Saturn). Change is in the air.

This affects us personally too. We need to find our deep, repressed, toxic wounds and give them some air. Collectively, there is a new spotlight on the toxic wounds of slavery, racism, sexism and wealth disparity. It’s all coming up to be healed and shifted. We need to own all that we are, all that we’ve done, and all that we want to be; moving forward with justice and compassion for our fellow woman and man.

Mars square Pluto will be exact on Thursday, and will be continuing into October. This square can be violent and will turn the heat way up on simple disagreements. Be diplomatic and avoid risks. Seriously. The pandemic and rioting can increase the danger on the streets. Remember Pluto represents repressed sexuality, ambition, anger and masculinity. Lilith, Eris and Mars have the keys are letting this energy loose. Men in general, and Aries people, can get into a lot of trouble the second half of this year.

Monday, August 10th: Moon in Taurus. Authority can be stubborn today, so best to not rock the boat. However, if you want to bring stability to an issue, today is a good day to work on it.

Tuesday, August 11th: Moon in Taurus. Refocus on your needs and home life. Walk in nature, work in the garden and cook something scrumptious. Beware of overspending with online shopping.

Wednesday, August 12th: Moon into Gemini. Chatty day, good for talking, sociability and online activities. Tensions are rising though with tomorrow’s event, so don’t dig too deep.

Thursday, August 13th: Moon in Gemini. Mars, Lilith and Eris in EXACT square to Pluto. Stay in bed lol. Seriously though, lay low today and stay under the radar. This square could ignite big confrontations.

Friday, August 14th: Moon in Gemini, going into Cancer at 4:35pm Pacific. Probably the best day for reaching an understanding with others. Good movie night.

Saturday, August 15th: Moon in Cancer, Uranus RETROGRADE in Taurus. Get yourself grounded and centered before undertaking anything. Bring some compassion into your day.

Sunday, August 16th: Moon in Cancer continues… be kind to yourself and others. We are in the realm of the New Moon, so contemplate what you’d like to see happen in your life over the next month.

Ben Franklin epitaph

Painting by David Martin (Edinburgh Scottish painter-1767-White House collection in Washington

A freemason who believed in life after death…

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN AND THE LOST EPITAPH…

Born on January 17, 1706, Benjamin Franklin, at 22 years old, had written the epitaph that was to adorn his future tomb. Forgotten, it doesn’t appear on his grave, but we know the text:

′′The body of Benjamin Franklin, a printer, like the cover of an old book with striped contents of its leaves, text and gilding, rests here in a pasture for worms. But the book will not be lost because, as he believes, it will appear once again in a new edition; more elegant, revised and corrected by the author.”

Benjamin Franklin’s body rests in Christ Church Cemetery in Philadelphia
