Rose Lyon is a highly regarded American occultist, psychic and healer residing in Sacramento. She began formal study of the occult in her twenties as a regular visitor to a local curiosity shop. She befriended a local Wiccan priestess who taught her astrology, magic and tarot. This led to her formal initiation into the Craft in 1988. She continued her studies by joining the Clairvoyant training program at Psychic Horizons, graduating as a reverend in 1993. With a hunger for art and history she enrolled at SFSU in the theater program where her training exposed her to the ancient connections between shamanism and theater. Majoring in Drama with an emphasis in World Religions, she studied the history of Greek and European theater as well as Women's Studies. She graduated with a BA in Drama & Performance in 1997. Since then she has expanded her occult knowledge through studies of Irish folklore, Chinese astrology, herbal healing and Feng Shui. She is an adept healer and psychic, and continues her practice of tarot readings, psychic healings and marriage ceremonies while studying Ceremonial Magick and Qabalah with the Temple of the Silver Star.

Friday, June 23rd: Virgo Moon all weekend. ORGANIZE yourself!

This weekend is ideal for organizing, working on projects, and running errands around town. We are moving towards a Mercury square to Neptune on Sunday, which can bring either deception, or creativity.

Mercury and Neptune are opposites, Mercury being analytical and scientific, while Neptune governs the space between worlds, dreams or other spiritual dimensions. Try to blend the two with art, music, creativity and writing. Also meditation, inner reflection and the inner search for truth and meaning in our lives.
Also, we are coming up to the first-quarter moon on Tuesday. It’s a time when something demands our attention or we get better clarity about what this lunar month is about.

“The Holy Guardian Angel is more than the projected image of our perfected self, or the voice of our conscience. It’s more than the inherent, innocent knowledge of right and wrong. It is more than the divine ear that hears us when we look to heaven and pray ‘oh God if you get me out of this I’ll never do anything so stupid again’.

But what that ‘more than‘ is, is difficult to discuss.

With Chiron (the Healer) in the mix, our relationship traumas could come up. Face them and heal them – especially issues around codependency, trauma bonding and attachment wounds. Awareness, communication and healing are within reach! If we’ve been isolating, the Libra energy fosters reconnection with people.

Chiron shows us where to find the medicine to heal ourselves, and since it’s conjunct the Sun at 16º Aries (which is exalted), it’s about self-acceptance, motivation, and confidence. Refocus on your personal journey, and what you want to accomplish here on Earth.

On the same day Mercury conjuncts the North Node at 4º Taurus. This is the mind joining with destiny. There is insight into our future path or direction, however Taurus wants us to be grounded and in reality about it. How do we manifest our dreams? How do we make things happen in the real world? Taurus reminds us to connect with the physical world and use our five senses; what we see, feel, hear, smell, taste, and touch in front of us.

Making a talisman for a planet gives one the power of attracting the Seven Planetary Forces. Unfortunately these metals are extremely expensive, or lethal (i.e. lead and quicksilver), but it’s still interesting to look at these correspondences. They apply to writing with different colored inks as well.

Gold is the Metal of the Sun
Silver is the Metal of the Moon
Iron is the Metal of Mars
Copper is the Metal of Venus
Quicksilver is the Metal of Mercury
Tin is the Metal of Jupiter
Lead is the Metal of Saturn

Full Moon in Virgo/ Saturn into Pisces

March 7, 2023: Full Moon at 16 Virgo. The sign of the Virgin, which represents “being whole”, pure, and uncorrupted. It unifies our health and our work, and inspires us to live in integrity. Beware of the obsession with perfection and overthinking.

If you feel overwhelmed by this full moon, go over to the Pisces Sun on the other side of the sky for guidance. Reconnect with your spirituality, faith, and the god of your heart. Reassure yourself that you are exactly where you need to be right now, and cleanse yourself and your home.

Also today, Saturn enters Pisces. This marks a huge change in the undercurrent of our lives and society. Saturn is authority, ambition and power, and represents the institutions in our world, as well as the structures of our lives. Pisces dissolves what it touches, and erodes the stability of Saturn, so Saturn isn’t too happy in Pisces.

The best way to handle this transit is to be aware of the qualities of “sacrifice” and “surrender”. Use them to navigate the realities in your life. Surrender to discipline, to your basic needs, to the reality of who you are and what you want to accomplish. This will be a great few years to focus on bettering yourself, and supporting the growth of people around you.

Venus and Jupiter are two of the most positive planets in astrology, and they both shine brightest in the sign of Pisces! Their true natures are easily expressed here, so this conjunction is particularly significant. Pisces is the Great Mystery; the sign of hope, and connection with the divine.

Venus is the planet of attraction, love, art, romance, friendship and parties. Venus is exalted in the sign of Pisces, so she is completely at home in the gentle sweetness of this sign. Jupiter rules Pisces, and the planet’s flowing abundance, riches and luck appear naturally here. Venus and Jupiter coming together is one of the most auspicious planetary aspects! It highlights how we have wisened up, realized new truths about ourselves, and opened to love. This is a time to trust your instincts, follow your wisdom, and stand in the truth. A miracle could happen.

As Venus and Jupiter meet, they will be two degrees away from the great healer, Chiron, which symbolizes deep healing and a new receptiveness to love, abundance, creativity and feelings. We might feel our wounds deeply and want to run away, but the key is to move towards them. I’m curious if the conjunction can be seen in the evening sky as one huge star on March 1st and 2nd. Go take a look outside and bask in the loving emanation. Breakthroughs and miracles can occur, so notice the Magick happening around you.
