We are in the dark of the Moon this week, so just take it easy and rest. The Moon is waning until next Monday, December 14th, when we have a New Moon Solar eclipse at 23 Sagittarius.

Happy New Year! January is the month of the ancient Roman god Janus, who rules doorways, and looks forwards and backwards at the same time. He symbolizes transitions, and the portal between the past and the future.

This god is appropriate for all of 2021, as we begin the tussles between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. These squares between these two planets will manifest on Earth as the push and pull between old world ideologies, and the advancements of the technological age.

It’s very close to being mutual reception, which is when two planets are in each others’ ruling signs. Saturn (responsibility and discipline) has a lot in common with Taurus (practicality and slow growth). Uranus (revolution) is the ruler of Aquarius (liberation, revelation). This year, we will be wanting to push forward past old ideas to a new paradigm, but the progress will be slow. Patience is the key.

Last year, in 2020, our world and personal lives were torn to pieces. Pluto, the god of literal and metaphoric death, presided over last year. In 2021, we will begin to lay the foundation for a new way forward, but the key is deciding on personal direction. Neptune in Pisces is also squaring the North Node of the Moon in Gemini all year, asking us to access intuition for finding this new path. You can’t think your way into it, you have to use your gut instincts. This is very important this year.

Monday, January 4th: Moon VOC in Virgo starting in the afternoon. Try and avoid spending all of your $600 bonus today. It is EXCELLENT to start a new year diet and exercise routine though! The big news is Mercury conjunct Pluto around 5pm Pacific. Avoid power plays and doom scrolling on social media. Issues of control might come up in communication, but there’s possibilies for deep understanding and clearing of the air. Don’t go to extremes in your thinking this week; healing is available.

Tuesday, January 5th: Moon in Libra brings a need for balance, fairness and justice. If an issue in your life feels out of your control or unjust, gently take action today. Libra wants you to use tact, and maneuver towards win-win situations. Talk to your boss, or hammer out agreements, today and tomorrow.

Wednesday, January 6th: Moon in Libra enters the 4th quarter, and we are in a balsamic Moon until next Wednesday. You have permission to rest and watch movies. Mars enters Taurus at 2:27pm Pacific, which means the massive restructure of our identities from Mars in Aries last year has completed it’s first phase. Unfortunately, this could bring battles over territories.

Thursday, January 7th: Moon in Scorpio. The mood of the day could be frustrating, because the Moon will be squaring most of the outer planets, then opposing Uranus at 12:16pm Pacific. Don’t push people to meet your needs, instead nurture yourself. Stay in your own front yard.

Friday, January 8th: Moon in Scorpio, void at 6pm Pacific. Lots of aspects and changes today so go with the flow. Mercury goes into Aquarius and our minds become electrified by possibilities, ideas and expanding consciousness. Venus sullenly enters Capricorn and romance dies. We’re all about committment now, and long-lasting partnerships. Are the fundamentals there for this to really work in the long term? Expect this question to come up a lot in the next few weeks.

Saturday, January 9th: Moon in Sagittarius. Have outside adventures and put energy towards your goals! Venus trines Mars, allowing achievable resolutions between partners. You can get some foundational stuff decided in relationships today. Get it done by early evening though, because Mercury conjunct the hard eye of Saturn in the evening could bring stubborness and pessimism.

Sunday, January 10th: Moon in Sagittarius, then at 10:30am void ALL DAY!! Be creative, rest and have fun. No big aspects and no ground under our feet today, so no big decisions or conversations.

Astrology of 2021

We have made it through some of the most challenging planetary aspects in recent memory. 2020 was overseen by Pluto, the great reformer, and Saturn, the karmic planet of limitation – both super charged by Mars and expanded by Jupiter. We’ve had to face our fears about injustice, powerlessness, loss, isolation and scarcity. None of us will ever be the same.

A new world opens up to us in 2021. There are challenges ahead, but a different tone. Saturn in Aquarius is a MUCH lighter transit, however it does point to the continuation of the pandemic and limitations on socializing. The planetary influence of 2021 will be Saturn in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus, which presents an interesting duality between progress and caution.

It’s close to being a mutual reception, when two planets are in each others’ ruling signs. Saturn (responsibility and discipline) has a lot in common with Taurus (practicality and slow growth). Uranus (revolution) is the ruler of Aquarius (liberation, revelation). In the coming year, we begin to rebuild, but in a new way. Aquarius demands equal rights and the liberation and unification of humanity, but with Saturn in charge the changes will come slowly. The best way to walk through this year is to be patient, stay in the present moment, and simplify your life.

Aquarius, the revolutionary youth, will have to make peace with the old guard to bring everyone into the future. The old guard is on notice though, and is no longer in charge. The last time Jupiter was in Aquarius was in 2009, and Saturn’s last transit of Aquarius was in 1992. Look back to these years to know what 2021 might have in store for you.

With the Moon’s nodes (future, destiny) touring through Gemini and Sagittarius, the collective consciousness is changing what we believe and the way we think and write laws. Neptune in Pisces, squaring these nodes all year, insists we use intuition and visionary insight to find the path forward.

Thanks to those of you who followed my reports this year! I’m wishing you good luck and clarity in 2021 🙂

We’ve made it to the last week of 2020. Sadly, many hundreds of thousands of people did not survive the horrific pandemic we faced this year. I still can’t fully comprehend the huge losses we’ve suffered, and the deep grief felt by so many families. It’s really been a year like no other in our living history.

Thank goodness we have a quiet week with a gentle Full Moon in Cancer. This Full Moon will deliver the final information we need to integrate the changes of 2020. Look for emotional resolutions to the year. We are leaving behind 2020 with an understanding of the changes we’ve been through, and a long view of all we have learned about ourselves. We have a new, inner resolve that we will express in the coming month.

Monday, December 28th: Moon in Gemini. Mercury (Gemini’s ruler) gets bogged down in Capricorn and can’t think or move quickly with the Seagoat’s pessimism and caution. The only way to walk through Mercury here, is to think strategically, and negotiate when you’re in a good position. Last night, we had the Sun trining Uranus, which brings the desire for freedom. Look for ways you can liberate yourself today.

Tuesday, December 29th: Full Moon in Cancer at 7:28pm Pacific. Avoid difficult conversations today because sensitivities are high. Be gentle… Easy Does It. Creativity, nostalgia, food, and emotional release are good uses of this energy.

Wednesday, December 30th: Moon in Cancer. It’s an emotional week, and sensitivity and dreaminess remain at the forefront of our experience. We are integrating the big changes this year, and preparing for 2021. Still not a great day for serious discussions or social complications. Venus squares Neptune in the early morning, bringing some desire for escapism. Engage in pleasure and express yourself through art. A good week for creativity; so paint, write, film and play.

Thursday, December 31st: Moon into Leo at 11:00am Pacific. The mood changes and becomes more upbeat. We are feisty and ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Great evening to see first rate performances on television. With Saturn and Jupiter opposite the Moon, the pandemic is still in full force, so celebrate from home. Venus conjunct the South Node helps us let go of an old story.

Friday, January 1st: Moon in Leo. New Year’s Day! Moon opposite Pluto in the morning, then Saturn and Jupiter in the afternoon. This could bring some heaviness and fears that there won’t be real change, but the Moon in Leo encourages us to have heart. Try to be around authentic people.

Saturday, January 2nd: Moon in Leo, and goes void at 2:28pm. A day to spend with animals and/or making music. No big decisions or proclamations when the Moon is void, just go with the flow.

Sunday, January 3rd: Moon in Virgo. Now we clean up after the New Year’s/Leo Moon party and get organized. We turned a spiritual corner last week, now we want to put things in motion, in alignment with our integrity.

Saturn-Jupiter: The Great Conjunction

We’ve entered a new era. Saturn entered the sign of Aquarius last Thursday, which means a huge shift (and fresh start) for the next couple of years. The last conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius was January 7, 1405. That was 615 years ago. 1405 was one of the world’s great beginnings, births, and rebirths. This year though, is more significant due to the Great Conjunction between Saturn and Jupiter at 0° Aquarius – which is happening right now. Jupiter greatly magnifies Saturn, and Aquarius rules The Future and humanity. This year, we will hopefully be shown the way forward after the upheaval, destruction and death in 2020. We will get a new “plan”, and start to rebuild our lives in 2021. This conjunction means we’ve officially turned a corner.

There’s so much to this aspect, so let’s take it piece by piece:

1, First off, 0° of ANY sign represents it’s strongest expression, and this conjunction is at 0° Aquarius; so Aquarian ideals are at the forefront. These are liberation, democracy, invention, humanity, the public, independence, the future, genius, revolution and community groups.
Aquarius is like an eccentric pilanthropist that wants to better mankind.
…like the visions of a shaman that show how to lead the people.
It’s a sudden bolt of revelation out of nowhere.
It is definitely people protesting in the streets.

2. A Jupiter-Saturn conjunction occurs once every 20 years, so the last time this happened was the year 2000. We are at the beginning of a new cycle!

3. Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions occur every 20 years, BUT they belong to 200 year elemental cycles. Since 1802, all of these conjunction have occurred in Earth signs, and the one tonight is occuring in an Air sign (Aquarius), starting off another 200 year cycle in Air signs! We will see huge technological advances, hopefully less wars, more collaboration, and increases in global trade, over the next 200 years. A boost will be evident in the fields of information technology, science, outer space and sociology. The energy will shift from Earth (consumerism, material values, hierarchies)

4. The thing about this conjunction too, is that these two planets are seen as opposites. Saturn: responsibility, karma, pessimism, reality, concentration, discipline, maturity, and hard work.
Jupiter: joy, wealth, good luck, idealism, expansion, optimism, the benevolent King.
How do we make sense of these two powerful planets joining together? They will influence each other:
Jupiter will expand laws, boundaries,

Tonight, Sunday, December 20th, 2020 is Winter Solstice eve. It is the longest night of the year. Tomorrow morning at dawn, 7:21am Pacific, the Sun rises on the new year. This is because the days grow longer from this point on until the climax at the longest day on June 21st, 2021. Important to think about what you’d like to “grow” in the New Year. Christmas tree lights symbolize finding hope in times of darkness.

That’s the main undercurrent of what’s happening right now: REBIRTH. There’s also the Great Conjunction between Saturn and Jupiter at 0 Aquarius, which is a huge event. lt underlines this rebirth of the Sun. Saturn has been in Capricorn, it’s natural home, for the last 2.5 years, exposing materialism, lack of integrity, and the misuse of power. With Saturn’s entrance into Aquarius, our society will be completely transformed, perhaps leaning towards the promised utopia of Aquarius.

We’re already experiencing some of this shift in the form of lockdowns – Saturn limiting our social (Aquarius) connections. Also, working remotely (Saturn) online (Aquarius).

There’s also aspects happening that are resetting us for 2021:

  1. Mercury conjunct the Sun (combust) at 0 Capricorn.
  2. Pluto at 23 Capricorn exactly square Mars (which is conjunct Eris at 23 Aries).
  3. Week starts with the Moon at 23 Pisces.
  4. The Saturn/Jupiter conjunction enters a square to Uranus in Taurus, and it will be in effect through 2022.

These squares between these specific planets can bring fighting and conflict, so be cautious in the world.

Monday, December 21st: Moon void in Pisces, into Aries at 2:32pm Pacific. WINTER SOLSTICE. Sun enters Capricorn at 2am Pacific. This morning’s sunrise sees the rebirth of the Sun. This is one of the most magical days of the year. Immerse yourself in the wonderful, fresh energies alive in the air today. The Sky King (Jupiter) spreads his wings (Aquarius) and escapes the Earth (Capricorn). All of the cooped-up, earthbound energy of the last two years is shaken off, and we have a new path before us of freedom.

Tuesday, December 22nd: Moon in Aries adds to the feeling of rebirth! Put plans into action, but be aware people won’t be all that patient, or listen well. Drive cautiously.

Wednesday, December 23rd: Moon in Aries, but void-of-course at 2:51pm Pacific. Try to avoid signing anything or having important conversations during a void Moon. This is a volatile day, since the Moon conjuncts Mars and Black Moon Lilith, and Mars square Pluto is exact. Tests might come up around your identity. The best use of this energy is setting boundaries where needed, but watch out for irritation and anger. Today begins the final squares of Mars/Eris to Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter. Tempers will be testy through February 2021. Be cautious driving.

Thursday, December 24th: Christmas Eve. Moon in Taurus. Things slow waaaay down today and we indulge in sensual delights. Although you may be stuck at home and away from your families this year, get yourself an excellent dinner. Taurus loves food.

Friday, December 25th: Christmas Day. Moon in Taurus. Slow, quiet day. Any activity that awakens the five senses is highlighted. Get outside today and appreciate nature.

Saturday, December 26th: Moon void-of-course at the end of Taurus all day, and then into Gemini at 3:33pm Pacific. Energy picks up as the Moon trines the lovely Saturn/Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius, so expect some communication or insight into your future path.

Sunday, December 27th: Moon in Gemini. Very chatty day full of socializing and online purchases. We are two days from a Full Moon in Cancer, so walk cautiously around people’s feelings.

Alanon: December 17th

“Nurturing Ourselves”

“Many of us have been so deprived of nurturing that we think it’s silly or self-indulgent. Nurturing is neither silly nor self-indulgent; it’s how we show love for ourselves. That’s what we’re striving for – a loving relationship with ourselves that works, so we can have loving relationships with others that work.

When we hurt, we ask ourselves what we need to help us feel better. When we feel alone, we reach out to someone safe. Without feeling that we are a burden, we allow that person to be there for us. We rest when we’re tired; eat when we’re hungry; have fun or relax when our spirits need a lift. Nurturing means giving ourselves gifts – a trip to the beauty salon or barbershop, a massage, a book, a new jacket, or a new suit or dress. It means a long, hot bath to forget about our problems and the world for a few moments when that would feel good.

We learn to be gentle with ourselves and to open up to the nurturing that others have to offer us. As part of nurturing ourselves, we allow ourselves to give and receive positive touch – touch that feels appropriate to us, touch that is safe. We reject touch that doesn’t feel good or safe and is not positive. We learn to give ourselves what we need in a gentle, loving, compassionate way. We do this with the understanding it will not make us lazy, spoiled, self centered, or narcissistic. Nurtured people are effective in their work and in their relationships.

We will learn to feel loved by ourselves so much that we can truly love others and let them love us. Today, I will nurture myself. I will also be open to the nurturing that I can give to others and receive from them.”

A powerful New Moon occurred Monday, just after sunrise on the West Coast.
The Sun (Soul), Moon (emotions), Mercury (mind) and the South Node (the past), are all exact at 23 Sagittarius, which gives us a total Solar Eclipse. This is an opportunity for a final release from the major shedding of 2020. This eclipse heralds the closing of a chapter, and the start of something new. Since it’s occurring in Sagittarius, this new path has a lot to do with our beliefs, aspirations, and the Big Picture of our lives.

It’s interesting that we’re wrapping up the year in the sign of Sagittarius, which represents our beliefs and personal truths, and we haven’t known WHAT to believe this year. Until our society reaches stability again, it’s up to us to do the work, research facts, and find the truth. This New Moon solar eclipse tomorrow morning, is occurring with the south node (the past), which represents us releasing and moving past an old story we have about ourselves and the world. Sagittarius is The Archer, so aim, pull your arrow back, and let it fly!

There’s also the momentous conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn at 0 Aquarius on Dec. 21st – the Winter Solstice! Many people are calling it the “Great Conjunction,” because it will form one huge, bright star in the sky. The truth is, it’s already happening and you can see it now, it just becomes exact on Dec. 21st. This is another aspect that puts an end to 2020 and starts us on a new path, and it’s influencing this whole month.

Monday, December 14th: Total Solar Eclipse/New Moon at 23 Sagittarius at 8:17am Pacific, THEN the moon goes void-of-course ALL DAY until 7:35pm Pacific! Eek! Avoid risk-taking, negotiation or big purchases during a void-of-course Moon. There’s going to be intensity today, but the energy is towards a rebirth. Today is a powerful new beginning for any corner of your life. Whatever is started this week will probably develop over the next six months, but the initiating spark is now. Spend some time outside to clear your mind. Excellent day to read philosophy, or spend your energy on being wildly romantic or creative 🙂

Tuesday, December 15th: Moon in Capricorn, Venus into Sagittarius and Chiron direct. The solar eclipse is still in effect, but Capricorn brings a serious, focused and ambitious mood. You can probably put plans in motion today. Ground yourself through working hard, especially on things you’ve been avoiding. Focus on the goal. Chiron direct brings fresh energy towards healing.

Wednesday, December 16th: Moon in Capricorn, and Saturn into Aquarius in the evening, which brings a new, airy energy into our lives. This ingress into Aquarius will heavily influence 2021 – for the better. Moon approaches the “Big three” in Capricorn i.e. Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn. Heaviness can result and you may not feel like doing a lot, which is fine. Do not demand anything from authority figures today because they will be resistant. Capricorn also brings certainty.

Thursday, December 17th: Moon in Aquarius. There could be some flashes of the future today, so watch for signs. Aquarius is a huge part of the astrological fabric of 2021, and with the Moon, Saturn and soon Jupiter arriving there it’s a potent time for signals. People will be friendly but slightly detached, so it’s a good day for communications of all kinds. Focus on what your mind tells you rather than your heart. Let your creative genius out to play.

Friday, December 18th: Moon in Aquarius. Sun joins the Galactic Center today, so it’s easier to communicate with the universe, and the God of your heart. If you need to have meetings or work through agreements, do it in the morning. Remember to focus on balance and win-win resolutions.

Saturday, December 19th: Moon in Pisces and Jupiter into Aquarius. This is a real, positive change for Jupiter! The planet is moving out of Capricorn and it’s detriment and becomes electrified in the sign of the Water Bearer. Expansion, philosophy, truth, justice and honor are much more available to all of us!

Sunday, December 20th: Moon in Pisces and Mercury into Capricorn. Swim around your intuitions, ideas and creativity. With Mercury in Capricorn for the next month, it’s a great time for artists and writers to get organized, study, and work hard. Enjoy the day.

We are in the dark of the Moon this week, so just take it easy and rest. The Moon is waning until next Monday, December 14th, when we have a New Moon Solar eclipse at 23 Sagittarius.

We are in between eclipses – between the lunar eclipse in Gemini on Nov. 30th, and the upcoming solar eclipse next Monday. We are in touch with our subconscious and what we need on a deep level, as well as wrestling with what we believe. Since the Moon is balsamic or waning this week, it’s a time of “wrapping things up” and endings… which includes the end of this volatile year 2020.

We’ve all been forced to reevaluate our lives this year in the face of the massive societal changes brought about by the pandemic. The world has been restructured, along with our identities. Society has been torn down, old systems have been ripped out, and we are letting go of old, toxic, moldy, dead energies. Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter have influenced this upheaval by going through various conjunctions in the sign of the “boardroom” – Capricorn. We are releasing the “traditional”, the established and the conventional for a future that (hopefully) benefits everyone.

This month, we’re coming up to the Winter Solstice and the Sun’s entrance into Capricorn on December 21st. On the same day, there’s a paradigm shift when Jupiter and Saturn have an exact conjunction at 0 Aquarius. This happens every 20 years and it’s a big deal. It’s in Aquarius too – which sets our path on a lighter, airier trajectory. We will turn a corner for the better at the end of December, and wave goodbye to the trauma and heartbreak of this year. In 2021 we begin to rebuild ourselves up in a new way.

While Jupiter can indicate success, justice, and expansion, in essence Jupiter amplifies. Here Jupiter amplifies Saturn, which deals with limits, regulations, and control issues. What’s the best use of this conjunction? Get organized, because discipline and responsibility will be a strong influence. Let go of bad habits and cultivate good ones.

Monday, December 7th: Moon in Virgo wants us to start a new diet and exercise routine; perhaps rearrange the house so it’s more efficient. But with Mercury currently in Sagittarius, we might want to read all day instead.

Tuesday, December 8th: Moon into Libra at 4pm Pacific brings a taste of romance to our day. If you need to talk to your boss, or hammer out agreements, today and tomorrow are PERFECT for it.

Wednesday, December 9th: Moon in Libra. Sociability, communication and fairness. If something in your life feels out of balance, you can correct it now.

Thursday, December 10th: Moon in Libra all day, then into Scorpio at 6pm Pacific. The mood of the day could be heavy, and people might be focused on their own trajectories, so you focus on your path.

Friday, December 11th: Moon in Scorpio (informed by Mars in Aries). Do Magick! Expect occult experiences and deep conversations with people. Sexy date night if you can meet in person.

Saturday, December 12th: Moon in Scorpio, then into Sagittarius at 6:39pm Pacific. Have outside adventures today! Put energy towards your goals.

Sunday, December 13th: We are in the orb of the New Moon solar eclipse in Sagittarius, tomorrow morning (Monday) at 8:17am. Prepare for a new beginning.

Healer

“THE MAN WHO WALKS WITH THE HEALER~
When a man chooses a woman who follows her calling, his only chance to maintain the connection is in following her… and above all in creating space for her to follow her own path.

It may happen that he needs to abandon his own neediness, or that he finds a means of healing through their common path – but not in the gentlest manner.

When a man chooses a woman who heals the collective wounds of the women by following her calling, his Yes for her equals a Yes to a bigger purpose far beyond building a house or raising children. Their connection goes beyond fulfilling the classical gender role models.

For this man accepts the job of having the back of this woman, of catching her when she cannot transform the pain of the world anymore. It means for him to welcome a different form of sexuality, since healing on the level of sexuality is one of the most profound issues of the woman who needs to become a healer.
For him this, again, is about welcoming slowness, softness and healing – about holding back or redirecting his own drive… about being present for the whole.

Because when a man chooses a woman who aims for freedom, they can only achieve this together… and by him leaving his narcissistic aspects behind and recognizing the path of the woman as his own path towards freedom.

When a man chooses a woman who is bigger, he cannot dwell in the places of energies of oppression or of playing small. He – if he chooses to take on this mission with her – accepts a task serving the well-being of all men, even though it happens in the background. Within this background he creates space of security, of keeping her safe from an ambush bred by his own old wounds, driving her into submission.

When a man chooses a woman out of his fascination with her radiance and wisdom, it must be obvious to him that he cannot be stuck within his own deficits in a way that makes him want to diminish her radiance… purely out of fear of having to share her with others.

When a man chooses a woman who follows her calling, he cannot fear these words: respect, humility and surrender. He will rather walk the path of divinity – alongside his woman, the healer – with gratitude and an overflowing heart.

For such a woman will choose – if she ever needs to choose – in favour of the well-being of all women …and she will choose walking her path alone instead of leaving it for him. Nevertheless, she is aware of the power that lies in the presence of a man who is beating the drums… for her.”
