Full Moon at 22° Capricorn at 1:00am PDT August 9 There’s a lot of potential and opportunity out there, but a lot of conflicting energies too. You feel pulled in many different directions. There’s possibilities for witnessing, listening, and hearing instruction from our higher selves. Illusions are destroyed. Watch and listen.
Sturgeon Moon: sturgeon were once abundant in North American lakes at this time of year. Full Moon rises at 22 Capricorn. She is in her detriment in Capricorn, which celebrates “getting ahead” more than being vulnerable. People become cautious and it’s hard to get concessions from authority figures. The energies of this Full Moon will unfold over the week ahead giving us peak experiences with our ambitions, career, and personal story.
We have a six planet alignment just after sunset tonight with Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, and Saturn â all bright and easily visible to the naked eye â and Uranus and Neptune, which can be seen with the aid of binoculars. Many falling stars this weekend with the Perseid meteors streaking across the sky.
Current SIDEREAL placements. Sidereal is different than traditional tropical astrology because itâs based on where the planets actually ARE in the constellations:
Sun at 26 Taurus Mercury at 8 Gemini (Rulership! Excellent time for Mercury magick) Venus at 9 Aries Mars at 2 Leo (great for Mars magick) Jupiter at 6 Gemini (in its detriment. No Jupiter magick) Saturn at 6 Pisces Uranus at 4 Taurus Neptune at 7 Pisces (rulership) Pluto RETROGRADE at 9 Capricorn North Node at 29 Aquarius
Full Moon at 26° Scorpio (sidereal) at 12:43am Pacific, 6/11/25. Its falling near the star Antares – the heart of the Scorpion – which is a sensitive, transformational place. We need to be acknowledged, to correct injustice, and to have our boundaries respected. SCORPIO = regeneration, transformation, anger, rebirth, boundaries, sex, and the occult. Scorpio Moon can bring up issues around power and control.
This full moon has a special energy of reverence; a need to be respected and to have our boundaries guarded and honored. It is in the area of the sky called Jyestha. This nakshatra represents respect, so a big part of this full moon in Scorpio is rising up and overcoming disrespect or oppression. We can see it around us right now with the clashes between the violations of human rights and authoritarianism.
We can see clearly through illusion.
It is important to vibrate high and stay away from toxic people and situations. Absolutely get out and protest, but avoid drastic, extremist attitudes.
Scorpio is ruled by Mars, the warrior god of strength, courage, boundaries, assertiveness, men, justice, and action. Mars JUST entered Leo which is fantastic! There is a new feeling of forward motion and getting things done.
Mars encourages us to look at our goals.
Do you have any goals? Are they in alignment with your true and highest self?
Assess your ambitions, life path and direction. It is a time to think about your actions, and whether they are aligned with the life and world you want to create.
Look at your energy and drive because they are valuable. Is your current job or project worth what youâre spending the time on? Do you need to make a change?
Also Saturn and Neptune are in a conjunction in this watery, nebulous energy of Pisces. Saturn is being challenged now to hold structure in what is completely unknown (Neptune). This relates to AI and how it pushes the edge of reality. Be aware that what you think might be real may not be real at all right now. On an inner level understand that what is true in one way can be completely differently true in another way. It’s rare to have a conjunction between Saturn and Neptune. It gives us the ability to see illusion for what it really is, and that is liberating.
The positive thing about this is that Saturn and Neptune in Pisces is opening spiritual growth for a lot of people. This is a powerful time to really be seeing through the illusions.
Friday, 10:34am: Full Moon Eclipse at 15 Scorpio. Avoid social complications and risky situations. Reality is bending, and we are being transformed. Pluto has released a surge of life-transforming energy from the primordial depths. It is also True Beltane today.
The key word is BALANCE. This Full Moon puts the focus on our relationships – business and personal. Clear the air, forge new agreements, speak the truth, and put energy into the neglected areas of your life. If something has been standing in your way, now is the time to deal with it. Get it done.
This one is an invitation â to follow the Messengerâs mythic, magical journey to reclaim the genius of your body mind and retrieve the brilliance of that fire that lights up the web through which the Cosmos enters you — the one we call the nervous system, linking you to the cosmos-neurological web of the Universe itself. This one is a daring, high-stakes mission — to rewild your mind and bring your life fully alive, just as spring does to the world.
In the ancient world, where Mercury was called Hermes, he was the god of finding and meeting, the guide of souls, and the trickster (the mythic figure who crosses time, space, and cultures).
April 6th, 2023: Full Moon at 16Âș Libra, opposing Chiron at 15Âș Aries Also, Mercury conjunct North Node at 4Âș Taurus
The key word is BALANCE. This Full Moon puts the focus on our relationships – business and personal. Clear the air, forge new agreements, speak the truth, and put energy into the neglected areas of your life. If something has been standing in your way, now is the time to deal with it. Get it done.
With Chiron (the Healer) in the mix, our relationship traumas could come up. Face them and heal them – especially issues around codependency, trauma bonding and attachment wounds. Awareness, communication and healing are within reach! If we’ve been isolating, the Libra energy fosters reconnection with people.
Chiron shows us where to find the medicine to heal ourselves, and since it’s conjunct the Sun at 16Âș Aries (which is exalted), it’s about self-acceptance, motivation, and confidence. Refocus on your personal journey, and what you want to accomplish here on Earth.
On the same day Mercury conjuncts the North Node at 4Âș Taurus. This is the mind joining with destiny. There is insight into our future path or direction, however Taurus wants us to be grounded and in reality about it. How do we manifest our dreams? How do we make things happen in the real world? Taurus reminds us to connect with the physical world and use our five senses; what we see, feel, hear, smell, taste, and touch in front of us.
Sunday, February 5, 2023: FULL MOON at 17 LEO Magical Day. A Full Moon (potential) in Leo (ruled by the SUN) on a Sunday is fabulous for Sun Magick! It’s a rare event, allowing magicians to fully access the enormous power of the Sun. Just Do It! Magick to increase the Will, creativity, greatness, leadership, romance, and all things artistic. Tarot card of the day is Strength – tame your inner lion with compassion and patience.
Explore your creativity this weekend and let yourself stand out. Today is the day of the heart. Have fun and play with some unstructured time. This enhances your imagination which is oh so important.
Below is a little quote from Rudolf Steiner with regard to lunar eclipses. I’ve replaced his words with “subconscious” below, because it’s a more grounded and current interpretation in my view.
âWhen there is an eclipse of the moon, the man of today merely says: âNow the earth comes between the sun and the moon; hence we see the shadow cast upon the moon by the earth.â That is the physical explanation. But in this case also the old initiate knew that a spiritual reality was behind the physical fact.
He knew that when there is an eclipse of the moon, thoughts stream through darkness down upon the earth; and that such thoughts have a closer relationship with the subconscious life than with the conscious life of the human being. The old initiates often made use of a certain simile when speaking to their pupils.
It is, of course, necessary to translate their words into modern language, but this is the gist of what they said: âVisionaries and dreamers love to go for rambles by moonlight, when the moon is full. There are, however, certain people who have no wish to receive the good thoughts coming to them from the cosmos, but who, on the contrary, are desirous of getting hold of ‘the subconscious’ (my current interpretation). Such people will choose the moment of a lunar eclipse for their nocturnal wanderingsâŠ
Eclipses of the sun and the moon, recurring as they do in the course of every year, may really be looked upon as âsafety-valves.â⊠The lunar eclipse exists for the purpose of allowing the ‘subconscious’ thoughts, which are present in the cosmos, to approach those human beings who are desirous of ‘being aware’ of them. People do not, as a rule, act in full consciousness.ââ
