Spring Equinox 0° Aries

Persephone Awakening’, by Jesper Alvermark, aka Zabani

What houses will both of the eclipses be transiting in your chart? That’s the area of life that will likely be affected.

5° Libra

19° Aries

I want to share the Sabian Symbol for Sun entering Aries, and the start of Spring. Today is the real New Year – when the Sun moves to 0 degrees Aries. Here’s Dane Rudhyar‘s insight into what this day means! Happy Spring:

PHASE 1 (ARIES 1°): A WOMAN JUST RISEN FROM THE SEA. A SEAL IS EMBRACING HER.

KEYNOTE: Emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness.

This is the first of the 360 phases of a universal and multilevel cyclic process which aims at the actualization of a particular set of potentialities. These potentialities, in the Sabian symbols, refer to the development of man’s individualized consciousness — the consciousness of being an individual person with a place and function (a “destiny”) in the planetary organism of the Earth, and in a particular type of human society and culture.

To be individually conscious means to emerge out of the sea of generic and collective consciousness — which to the emerged mind appears to be unconsciousness. Such an emergence is the primary event. It is the result of some basic action: a leaving behind, an emerging from a womb or matrix, here symbolized by the sea.

Such an action is not to be considered a powerful, positive statement of individual being. In the beginning is the Act; but it is often an imperceptible, insecure act. The small tender germ out of the seed does not loudly proclaim its existence. It has to pierce through the crust of the soil still covered with the remains of the past. It is all potentiality and a minimum of actual presence.

In the symbol, therefore, the emergent entity is a Woman; symbolically speaking, a form of existence still close to the unconscious depths of generic biological nature, filled with the desire to be rather than self-assertion. The woman is seen embraced by a seal because the seal is a mammal which once had experienced a biological, evolutionary but relatively unconscious emergence, yet which retraced its steps and “returned to the womb” of the sea. The seal, therefore, represents a regressive step. It embraces the Woman who has emerged, because every emergent process at first is susceptible to failure. This process is indeed surrounded by the memory, the ghosts of past failures during previous cycles. The impulse upward is held back by regressive fear or insecurity; the issue of the conflict depends on the relative strength of the future-ward and the past-ward forces.

The possibility of success and that of failure is implied throughout the entire process of actualization. Every release of potentiality contains this two-fold possibility. It inevitably opens up two paths: one leads to “perfection” in consciousness, the other to “disintegration” – the return to the undifferentiated state (the state of humus, manure, cosmic dust – i.e. to the symbolic “great Waters of space,” to chaos)

This symbol characterizes the first of five stages which are repeated at three levels. This stage represents the initial statement, or theme, of the five-fold series which refers to the first level: IMPULSE TO BE.”

Year of the Wood Dragon

The Year of the Dragon begins with the New Moon on February 9, 2024 at 2:58 p.m. PST.  These links cover different perspectives — symbolism, cultural relevance and predictions — for the Dragon, considered the grandest and most charismatic of the all the Chinese signs. Most are about 10 minutes long; the few longer, in-depth presentations are marked as such.

Here’s the Most Important Thing You Need to Know for 2024, Year of the Wood Dragon & Year of Action Elizabeth Pyjov speaks to the inner opportunities and optimal point of view for the year: “I am going to enjoy this life no matter what it throws at me. ..Let everyone else be as they are…Learn to look at life with approval and interest and warmth.”

AnandaShree Astrology speaks on the February Fiery New Moon Year of the Dragon, integrated with ideas from Vedic Astrology. The Dragon is a mythical animal which is vast, powerful and brings huge transformations. The New Moon is in the Dhanishta Nakshatra, connected to wealth and “the star of symphony.” On this New Moon she recommends to “take a vow to speak only what is necessary.”

Chinese Year of the Dragon + All Animal Signs
U.K. astrologer Patrick Arundell describes the dragon symbolism in China and considers 1964, the last Wood Dragon year — the Civil Rights Act was passed and Martin Luther King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He also briefly looks at the horoscope for China in his video.

The Wood Dragon: Pluto in Aquarius and Predictions for 2024
Donna Stellhorn at Kepler College offers a 90 minute presentation on Chinese astrology and its intersection with Western astrology. She explains the building blocks of Chinese astrology (i.e., the heavenly stems and earthly branches), the Five Elements and their interconnections, and delineates specific predictions for each of the 12 Chinese animal signs. Next, she combines the Dragon year energies with Western astrology. (Time stamps so you can bump ahead to your animal year for the predictions.)

Pantheon Mythology hosts a 20 minute video: Who are the Dragons of Chinese Mythology?
“These mythical creatures are revered in Chinese mythology as symbols of power, strength, and good fortune. Unlike their Western counterparts, often portrayed as vicious and violent, Chinese dragons are seen as benevolent and protective creatures that bring rain and control floods, crucial aspects of agriculture in ancient China.”

Astrologer and historian Christopher Renstrom at The Astrology Hub presents an hour on Exploring the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Year of the Wood Dragon. He provides a “deep examination of the symbolism and cultural beliefs surrounding the Chinese Lunar New Year and its correlation with Chinese Astrology. He emphasizes the fundamental difference between Western and Chinese astrology, and also delves into the significance of the animals and elements in Chinese astrology, especially with regards to the Year of the Wood Dragon.” He also tells a story from the Han Dynasty, “which ties back to the central theme of wisdom and enlightenment. This year is one that encourages seeking wisdom and understanding beyond immediate fulfilment or gratification.”

Fall Equinox

Mabon Blessings! 🙂

“Today we celebrate Mabon, or the Autumn Equinox. The hours of the day and night are equal. Today is harvest festival, and we pay our thanks for the wondrous blessings we have been given all summer. This Sabbat is also sometimes known as the Second Harvest Festival, Wine Harvest, Feast of Avalon, and Cornucopia.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. When you feel overwhelmed call upon the angels for they will help you to move forward and hold you in your arms when you are afraid. Whatever you have been working on can be harvested now. You are more powerful than you can imagine and can make all your dreams come true.

Tonight it’s appropriate to wear your finest clothes and celebrate with a bountiful harvest of food. Tonight is we turn the wheel of the year and get ready to head into a period of rest, relaxation and reflection. Take a walk in the woods; scatter some offerings for the animals and elementals of the forest.

It’s the night of mysteries and balance. Enjoy the fruits of your labor this year. Celebrate you and your accomplishments! When you are doing spell work or rituals tonight, work with protection, prosperity, security, self-confidence, harmony and balance.

Dark of the Moon: Week of September 4th

VENUS turned Direct in Leo this week, just as JUPITER turns backwards in the other direction. Both are stationing over our heads for the next 10 days or so. September is a bundle of retrogrades and cross currents. If you look below, almost every single planet is going backwards, with the exception of MARS, however this fiery planet is miserable in the sign of Libra (in his detriment).

The vibe this month is introspection – turning our focus inwards and checking in with our instincts. Retrograde planets have us rethinking everything, traveling over old ground, revisiting old choices and decisions, perhaps worrying, feeling helpless, and unable to get over things we need to release. Click here to book a phone reading ($175.00) with me 🙂

CURRENTLY:

Sun at 14 Virgo
Mercury RETROGRADE at 13 Virgo
Venus DIRECT at 12 Leo
Mars at 6 Libra (weak – in detriment)
Jupiter RETROGRADE at 15 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 3 Pisces
Uranus RETROGRADE at 23 Taurus
Neptune RETROGRADE 26 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 28 Capricorn
North Node at 26 Aries

August 30th: Full Moon in Pisces

CURRENTLY:
Sun at 7 Virgo
Mercury RETROGRADE at 20 Virgo (strong but backwards lol; exalted in Virgo)
Venus RETROGRADE at 12 Leo
Mars at 1 Libra (weak – in detriment)
Jupiter at 15 Taurus
Saturn RETROGRADE at 3 Pisces
Uranus RETROGRADE at 23 Taurus
Neptune RETROGRADE 26 Pisces (rulership)
Pluto RETROGRADE at 28 Capricorn
North Node at 26 Aries

Full Moon at 7 Pisces on Wednesday, August 30th at 6:36pm Pacific. This Full Moon is conjunct retrograde Saturn, so there is a sense of heaviness and responsibility to issues that are coming up now… and with seven planets in retrograde we are walking back through territory we have already passed through. The past is coming up and giving us a new understanding of our evolution.

Moon in Pisces is great for movies and entertainment. Allow time to reflect on your life. If you’d like to know how this Full Moon personally affects you, book a reading with me here: https://elizabethrosepsychicandtarot.as.me/?appointmentType=1307112

Moon in Virgo

Friday, June 23rd: Virgo Moon all weekend. ORGANIZE yourself!

This weekend is ideal for organizing, working on projects, and running errands around town. We are moving towards a Mercury square to Neptune on Sunday, which can bring either deception, or creativity.

Mercury and Neptune are opposites, Mercury being analytical and scientific, while Neptune governs the space between worlds, dreams or other spiritual dimensions. Try to blend the two with art, music, creativity and writing. Also meditation, inner reflection and the inner search for truth and meaning in our lives.
Also, we are coming up to the first-quarter moon on Tuesday. It’s a time when something demands our attention or we get better clarity about what this lunar month is about.

If you’d like an astrology reading send me a message here! I charge $250 for a thorough interpretation.

Full Moon ECLIPSE in Scorpio

Friday, 10:34am: Full Moon Eclipse at 15 Scorpio.
Avoid social complications and risky situations.
Reality is bending, and we are being transformed.
Pluto has released a surge of life-transforming energy from the primordial depths.
It is also True Beltane today.

The key word is BALANCE. This Full Moon puts the focus on our relationships – business and personal. Clear the air, forge new agreements, speak the truth, and put energy into the neglected areas of your life. If something has been standing in your way, now is the time to deal with it. Get it done.

This one is an invitation — to follow the Messenger’s mythic, magical journey to reclaim the genius of your body mind and retrieve the brilliance of that fire that lights up the web through which the Cosmos enters you — the one we call the nervous system, linking you to the cosmos-neurological web of the Universe itself. This one is a daring, high-stakes mission — to rewild your mind and bring your life fully alive, just as spring does to the world.

In the ancient world, where Mercury was called Hermes, he was the god of finding and meeting, the guide of souls, and the trickster (the mythic figure who crosses time, space, and cultures).

Full Moon in Libra

April 6th, 2023: Full Moon at 16º Libra, opposing Chiron at 15º Aries
Also, Mercury conjunct North Node at 4º Taurus

The key word is BALANCE. This Full Moon puts the focus on our relationships – business and personal. Clear the air, forge new agreements, speak the truth, and put energy into the neglected areas of your life. If something has been standing in your way, now is the time to deal with it. Get it done.

With Chiron (the Healer) in the mix, our relationship traumas could come up. Face them and heal them – especially issues around codependency, trauma bonding and attachment wounds. Awareness, communication and healing are within reach! If we’ve been isolating, the Libra energy fosters reconnection with people.

Chiron shows us where to find the medicine to heal ourselves, and since it’s conjunct the Sun at 16º Aries (which is exalted), it’s about self-acceptance, motivation, and confidence. Refocus on your personal journey, and what you want to accomplish here on Earth.

On the same day Mercury conjuncts the North Node at 4º Taurus. This is the mind joining with destiny. There is insight into our future path or direction, however Taurus wants us to be grounded and in reality about it. How do we manifest our dreams? How do we make things happen in the real world? Taurus reminds us to connect with the physical world and use our five senses; what we see, feel, hear, smell, taste, and touch in front of us.

Full Moon in Virgo/ Saturn into Pisces

March 7, 2023: Full Moon at 16 Virgo. The sign of the Virgin, which represents “being whole”, pure, and uncorrupted. It unifies our health and our work, and inspires us to live in integrity. Beware of the obsession with perfection and overthinking.

If you feel overwhelmed by this full moon, go over to the Pisces Sun on the other side of the sky for guidance. Reconnect with your spirituality, faith, and the god of your heart. Reassure yourself that you are exactly where you need to be right now, and cleanse yourself and your home.

Also today, Saturn enters Pisces. This marks a huge change in the undercurrent of our lives and society. Saturn is authority, ambition and power, and represents the institutions in our world, as well as the structures of our lives. Pisces dissolves what it touches, and erodes the stability of Saturn, so Saturn isn’t too happy in Pisces.

The best way to handle this transit is to be aware of the qualities of “sacrifice” and “surrender”. Use them to navigate the realities in your life. Surrender to discipline, to your basic needs, to the reality of who you are and what you want to accomplish. This will be a great few years to focus on bettering yourself, and supporting the growth of people around you.
