Will Rogers Wisdom

willrogers
Will Rogers, who died in a 1935 plane crash, was one of the greatest political sages this country has ever known.

Here are some of his excellent quotes that still apply today:

1. Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.
2. Never slap a man who’s chewing tobacco.
3. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.
4. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
5. Always drink upstream from the herd.
6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back into your pocket.

8. There are three kinds of men:
The ones that learn by reading.
The few who learn by observation.
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

9. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
10. If you’re riding’ ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it’s still there.
11. Lettin’ the “cat outta the bag” is a whole lot easier’n puttin’ it back in.
12. Everything is funny, as long as it’s happening to somebody else.
13. A remark generally hurts in proportion to its truth.

ABOUT GROWING OLDER….
First ~Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.
Second ~ The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.
Third ~ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know ‘why’ I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren’t paved.
Fourth ~ When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra.
Fifth ~ You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.
Sixth ~ I don’t know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.
Seventh ~ One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it’s such a nice change from being young.
Eighth ~ One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been.
Ninth ~ Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.
Tenth ~ Long ago, when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it’s called golf.
And, finally ~ If you don’t learn to laugh at trouble, you won’t have anything to laugh at when you’re old

Tolerance & Love

We can learn a lot from other cultures and people different from our own. I pray that we all remain open to understanding our neighbors, and protecting their right to worship the Great Mystery in their own way.

We are one sisterhood and brotherhood on this planet.

“Yesterday my husband and i attended a football game, it was Duhur time and we needed to pray. Finding a place to pray at a football stadium is tough, but we managed to find an empty corner. I was a bit nervous to pray because it wasn’t private at all, particularly in front of everyone, maybe i’m silly but i’m always paranoid i will get attacked while focused in prayer. My husband started praying and i get approached by stadium security. I thought in my head, here comes this guy, he’s gonna escort me out and tell us we can’t do this here. I was wrong, he came up to me and said “i am going to stand here and guard you guys to make sure nobody gives you any problems, go ahead and pray.” He allowed us to pray and stood in front guarding us to make sure we are safe. When i finished he came up to us shook our hands and told us to enjoy the game. SubahanAllah, an amazing experience i will never forget.”

Time has come Today

Time has come today
Young hearts can go their way
can’t put it off another day
I don’t care what others say
They say we don’t listen anyway
Time has come today, hey

The room has changed today
I have no place to stay
I’m thinking about the subway
My love has blown away
My tears have come and gone oh, Lord I got to run
I got no home no, I have no home

Now the time has come
Nowhere (place) to run
Might get burned up by the sun
But I’ll have my fun
I’ve been loved, been put aside
I’ve been crushed by tumbling tide
and my soul has been psychedelicized
Now the time has come there are things to realize
Time has come today Time has come today

Life is Music

Alan Watts – Why Your Life Is Not A Journey

“A film I made last night based on my favourite quotes from Alan Watts about how the way of looking at your life as a journey can be the most destructive way. Please have a listen to his wise words.” – David Lindberg

Clear the Clutter

It’s good for your mental health! In fact, when someone asks me to Feng Shui their house, that’s the first task – get rid of anything you don’t use or is broken. Fix is or toss it! When you leave stuff like this around your house, you’re telling yourself you won’t be able to afford things in the future. It’s a form of negative mental magick. Hold the belief you will be able to afford anything you need later on!
